Beautiful work when everything is working. For example, did not print properly when attached to a bus. Consistently prints too dark, so needs compensation (in Photoshop.)

I have had constant paper feed errors with this printer, especially with notecards. My previous Epsons have done much better. The R1800 was great with accurate feeding, thousands of notecards, then the R2000 was still decent but a little worse, but this P400 is the pits. I have to stand right there and baby things through. I've tried two types of cleaner sheets, which have briefly helped, but then right back to the usual.

I bought this to replace an R2000 which I had been using for several years. The only complaint I have is that if you use matt paper the feeder will not work properly if there are more than 4 sheets in it.

Easy to hook up. Took no time. Gorgeous printing but needs adjustments so not too dark printing. Luster paper looks super.

This is an excellent printer that renders fine details, when it works.

I bought this model to replace a R1800 which lasted from 2011 - 2017. This model, printing an average of about 30 pages of A3 (11.7"x16.5") a month has already stopped working with the error lights blinking and no way to reset or revive. It has steadily declined in print quality and has been less efficient every month with the ink cartridges which are between $17-$19 per. Not worth the cost even though the print outs using Epson ink and paper are beautiful. I take good care of my equipment and am disappointed this one didn't last even 1.5 years and the R1800 lasted a solid 5 years.

I've owned it for a month - the print quality is poor, the printer utility doesn't work, error codes are not defined

An amazing machine, the best I’ve ever owned! Colors are accurate, vibrant, and the tanks seem to last longer. Super pleased with this model, all pros no cons.

Useless for color prints. All images print with bold stripes across print and usually convert to monochrome. Downloaded drivers and no improvement. Automatic driver update routine tries to run several times a day. Run various image improvement routines and nothing changes. B/W and text are good.

When I was beginning my official education in Graphic Design, I pestered my professors to learn exactly everything they used for their design work. Epson was the popular printer and I've happily relied upon Epson for my comps and finished products ever since - around 25 or so years so far.

I bought the P400 in June of 2016. I've been using it since then, and I am very happy with the color prints (it was designed for color, not B&W). Going into the printer utility and doing maintenance quarterly is vital. This printer likes to be used frequently. The colors on all media I have used; Matt, Pearl, Luster, are Glossy very good. My only complaint is the rear sheet feeder stopped working after warranty ran out.

Delivered today. Began set up immediately, following instructions CAREFULLY. Immediately hit snag when ink cartridges would not "snap" into place. Major frustration over what should be the simplest of things to do. Finally figured out if I tilted the cartridges "just right" they would snap in. On to the Install Software. Did the recommended driver plus package. Followed instructions carefully. Get an error message, "There may be something wrong with your printer. Try turning off the printer and try again." It whirled and whizzed and burped and spun...for about 3 minutes and finally shut off. Not sure what was going on, but if I had to guess, I have a lot less ink than when I started. Finally, just went to Epson and downloaded a driver without any of the extras and hooked up a USB cable and in minutes was able to print. I may or may not have Wi-Fi connection...but since it's working and I don't need it connected via wi-fi, I'll stay with what I got. It shouldn't be this hard. I've had Epson printers for years. Set up should be getting easier, not more difficult. The jury is still out on my satisfaction with this printer.

I had previously written a poor review of this printer. It had failed during the original setup with an irrecoverable error. After talking to Epson Support they agreed to send me a new printer. The new one works great and I was very happy with my first print without any printer or Photoshop tweaking. Epson's response to my issue was prompt but now I have to return the old printer via Fedex which Epson is paying for.

I've been using this product for a little bit over 2 years and it's been working really good up until today. My biggest problem is that in my country there isn't a epson outlet where I can't atleast get it repaired. Paper loading problem when printing. When I start printing the printer doesn't seem to properly take in the paper which leads to the printer printing without paper. The printer isn't taking paper. Is there anyway I can get support to rectify this problem?

Just unpacked. Unit died during the start up procedure while “charging” the ink. “Irrecoverable error“ I couldn’t reset it using the suggested method in the user guide or tech support. Now Epson will send me a new as long as they can “hold” my credit card for the cost of a new one. Fit and finish is horrible and I suspect the print cartridge cover is not closing properly and that’s causing the fault. I’ve had a number of Epson printers that worked well in the past but maybe I should have purchased a Canon.

I have had this printer about 2-3 years and love it!! But lately, I am very frustrated with it because I keep getting "filter failed" messages and am stumped. I just re-installed from scratch hoping that it is corrected.

My Epson 1400 chocked to death on clogged print heads. Bought the P-400. I do NOT like it. Low key photos come out almost black. You have to do handstands and somersaults to get decent prints consistently. When you are luck and get a good one, it is extra good. But you have to waste time and money to get one.

For many years I enjoyed excellent results and reliability with my Epson R1900. It served me very well both personally and as a wedding photographer. Although I am now retired, I wanted the same quality for my personal use. The P400 is the perfect replacement, adding wireless ops as a new feature to me.

I had my Epson Photo Stylus R1900 for over 6 years. When it finally reached the end of its life, I needed an upgrade. This printer was the perfect replacement and works better than my last one. I've only noticed a slight difference in reds and skin tones between this and my last printer. Those colours come out just a wee bit darker, but not a big deal. I'm very happy with my purchase!
