Nice filter. I am concerned about damaging it though, so we shall see. As anything Lee, it is rather expensive!

Great. At first I was leary of having a filter bigger than the holder. But after using it and adjusting the filter area up and down I was sold. Very cool.

Usual filter use for adjusting exposure of skies in landscape photography.
When capturing the breathtaking beauty of sunrises and sunsets, maintaining a balanced exposure can be a challenging task for landscape photographers. The intense brightness of the sun can often result in overexposed skies and underexposed foregrounds. However, with the LEE Reverse ND filters, specifically designed for these critical moments of the day, photographers can regain full control over their images.
These high-quality, durable filters are expertly crafted to provide a natural, balanced exposure to the sky. The Reverse ND filter features a stronger density in the center, gradually transitioning towards the edges. This unique design allows for precise control of exposure right at the horizon line, where the brilliance of a sunrise or sunset is at its peak. This makes it particularly ideal for seascape photography.
Unlike many similar filters that exhibit a harsh 'stripe' at the horizon line, the LEE Reverse ND filter boasts a smoother, more gradual transition between the dyed and clear areas. This results in a visually pleasing and well-balanced image, enhancing the overall quality of your landscape photography.
The Reverse ND filter is most effective when used with lenses of 24mm or wider on a full-frame DSLR (or equivalent). For optimal results during sunrises and sunsets, position the filter in the holder so that the densest area aligns with the horizon line. This will prevent the sun and sky from burning out, while the clear area maintains a reasonable exposure for the foreground and middle ground.
Hand-manufactured by skilled technicians at LEE Filters' Andover factory, these versatile filters uphold a level of precision and quality control that sets them apart in the industry. Trust in the efficiency and professional-grade performance of the LEE Reverse ND filters to elevate your landscape photography to new heights.
