For the $3.7K total price, no complaint here. Has incredible features for a 1-piece camcorder. Love the IR, optical stabilization, iZoom, 59.94p, small-form factor, smooth servo zoom..) With that in mind, don't expect this cam to perform like a AJ-CX4000 w/ a $40K UHD 2/3" lens. The extreme wide end and close-up (before iZoom) are just plain soft. I clearly see the focus assist is in red, but it just couldn't resolve the image well. Has to be the economy lens here. This is why a real UHD lens costs about $35-45K. I'd shoot z100-200 and max out at z750. Anything beyond that won't look good due to optical performance limitations. The autofocus is pretty slow (latest July 2022 firmware). Utterly useless in many cases because it can't track the subject fast enough. Manual focus is adequate. Just doesn't have that fine detail or tactile feel as on a 2/3" UHD or HD Fujinon or Canon lenses. Most of the time I'm able to track the moving subject during the parade during a MCU and zoom out. But there is also many focus misses due to the ultra-fine focus ring. It'll take a while to get used to coming from a 2/3" broadcast lenses. Servo zoom in/out is actually pretty decent. It can do a slow creep and accelerate to a fast zoom just like the on the 2/3". 3rd party controller, such as the Varizoom VZ Rock can mimic the CX350's zoom rocker. The parafocal ability on the lens is decent. I can zoom in/out on the subject and it remains in focus. The only thing the CX-350 can't do is a super fast 1s servo zoom in/out that a super wide angle 2/3" can do. That itself is an artistic shooting style. Can't shoot super wide at certain tight locations. 24mm is wide but there are numerous situations where a super wide rectilinear 16-18mm is needed to get the entire building in the frame. Low-light with and without LOW SENS function is adequate. It simply doesn't have super low-light performance found on the GH5s series. VLog mode is decent. Has similar look to GH5, GH6, Varicam 35/LT/HS. The GH5 and GH6 is a little too sharp even sharpness is set to 0. But this looks very close. The Super Slow or HFR from 61-120 fps@1080p is very decent. Doesn't suffer the aliasing artifacts like the GH5s. This cam is a perfect addition to my GH5s but cannot replace it during low-light and super wide angle shots. There are scenarios where I can't do servo tracking shot on the GH5s. This fills that gap but doesn't replace my GH5s w/ Leica 10-25mm, 25-50mm, 8-16... Mobility and transporting cam from location to location are also very good. The camera is very light for me to carry the entire cam and tripod w/ out sweating too much. On a 2/3" setup, it's much heavier but the reward is its no-compromise optical and overall picture performance in all focal ranges and zoom. Handheld stabilization is quite good. Was taking a 2-mile hike with a very steep incline. Taking a tripod is too heavy. The Hybrid OIS and different stabilization modes enabled many useable handheld shots w/ no tripod. The shakiness is smoothened drastically! Impressive here. In-cam CX350 stabilization is far superior to using NLE apps method. Lack of genlock on the cam is not a deal-breaker. I can live with being 1 frame off when syncing with other equipment. Can't give it a 5-star due to lackluster optical performance at 4K. Everything else is great though.

I'm truly amazed that a camera that records beautiful images in 4K 10 bit, with incredible zoom range, 5 axis image stabilization and live streaming sells for $3,700. I'm very happy with it as well as Adorama to say the least.

Amazing camera. Easy to use and a nice upgrade in image quality from my old Panasonic. Commercial video projects need versatile tools and what I used to create with a monster size rig is now handled with this camera. As always, easy order, quick delivery and great customer service.

It's been a while since I bought a small-sensor camera. Before purchasing the CX350, I tried a JVC HM620 (which was disappointing), and a Canon XF400 (which had a nice picture but I didn't like the ergonomics). I came up with a list of criteria: • 1" sensor • Proper iris, focus, and zoom controls • Good low-light performance (for a camcorder) • Built-in ND filters • XLR jacks • Good zoom range. • Uses easy-to-find SD cards This Panasonic ticked all the boxes . I've used it on two shoots and I'm very happy with it. The 10-bit color is incredible and so much fun to grade! If you need a versatile camera for news or documentary (or possibly even cinema), you should give this a good look. It's a joy to use.

This camera won a battle between considering the purchase of a dslr. A single fixed lens with ability to go wide 24mm and go long at 10bit 4-2-2. 16mb mos chip is fast and wont dissapoint. Connectivity with xlr mics, fans for cooling and the professional look, ups my game in front of clients.

Love the AG-CX350
By JOSEPH M.
I am very happy with the new AG CX350. We had a very early 200 model with the big P2 cards and it was a workhorse for years. We have several Canon 5D systems and another 4K cinema camera, but wanted an all-in-one 4K workhorse like the 200 was. I am not disappointed. I especially like the access to HEVC h.265 and the high data rate 4K .mov codec. We have a seven day production coming up that will allow me to really put it though it's paces, but I’m confident it will live up to my expectations.
The AG-CX350 is the industry's lightest 4K 10-bit fixed-lens camcorder. The CX350 also brings impressive new features, including V-LOG video support, 4K 10-bit 60p capture, HDR recording, and is equipped with the SRT / RTMPS / RTMP / RTSP/ RTP protocol for livestreaming, along with an NDI ready IP connection. A new firmware upgrade for the AG-CX350 brings new codec choices (HEVC 100-Mbps & AVC-ULTRA formats), additional audio capability, enhanced streaming and more!
Optimized For 4K/HD Production With Live Broadcasting Capabilities
The CX350 is a handheld camcorder that is optimized for 4K/HD production with live broadcasting capabilities. With its integrated lens design, the CX350 brings impressive new features including 4K 10-bit 60p capture, HDR recording, and is equipped with the RTMPS / RTMP / RTSP / RTP protocol for live streaming and NDI|HX-ready IP connection. At only 4.2-lbs. (body only), the CX350 is also the lightest 4K 10-bit fixed-lens camcorder in its class.
Exceptional Sensor Performance
The 1.0-type MOS sensor (approx. 15.03-megapixels in UHD/FHD) provides exceptional depth-of-field and offers a great balance between image quality and sensitivity (F12/F13 in High Sensitivity Mode). The CX350 can capture in UHD (3840x2160), Full HD (1920x1080), HD (1280x720), and SD (720x480). Like the EVA1, the CX350 offers 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling with ALL-Intra (400-Mbps) and Long GOP (150Mbps) and can be recorded in UHD up to 29.98p/25p and FHD up to 59.97p/50p. It also supports the 10-bit HEVC codec at UHD up to 59.97p/50p with a low bit rate of 200Mbps. The HEVC 10-bit codec can be natively decoded and played by computers with 7th Generation (or later) Intel Core i7 chips. All of these formats and compression rates can be recorded internally to lower cost SD cards.
Streaming Capabilities in 4K and SRT Protocol Support
4K streaming is supported with a variety of frequencies and HD streaming is possible while recording. Both Client/Listener mode and encryption are also supported. H.264/H.265 codec and a variety of bitrates can be selected. The CX350 also supports USB tethering using your smartphone.
SRT Protocol enables high-quality streaming. SRT is used for direct live video transport between locations over the public internet.
Benefits of SRT
Supports Transmission
The flexible and highly adaptable buffer management system assures stable video transmission even in a network environment with an unstable bit rate. Public internet can be used for a long-distance video transmission.
Item Title
Encrypts video data before the transmission to assure high security.
Stability
The packet loss recovery function automatically detects packets lost during the transmission and resends them to achieve stable, disturbance-free video transmission.
Get Connected
The CX350 offers multiple forms of IP connectivity. It is the first handheld camcorder with in-camera NDI|HX compatibility (requires license purchase, internal recording is disabled in NDI|HX mode), allowing for high-quality IP video connectivity with live production switchers, including the Panasonic AV-HLC100 Stream Studio. The CX350 contains an RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) / RTMPS function, which enables video streaming to key social platforms like Facebook Live and YouTube Live. Internal HD recording (MOV) while streaming content is also available. The CX ROP app for iOS/Android tablets enables IP remote control of the CX350 with Gigabit Ethernet LAN connector (RJ45), or wireless module (AJ-WM50). With the app, you can control functions such as camera settings, picture quality adjustment, REC start/stop, menu settings and more.
Controllers for Simplified Live Camera Operation
Panasonic's controllers can be used together in a variety of different product categories, including our PRO PTZ Cameras, Studio Cameras, Camcorders and Cinema Cameras.
The AG-CX350 camera is compatible with the AK-HRP1000, AK-HRP1005, AK-HRP250, and even AW-RP150 controllers.
V-LOG Video Capture
The addition of V-Log adds a new dimension to the CX350, especially for documentaries. Documentaries will often use a multitude of cameras to capture a variety of shots that fit the story. For example, a cinema camera like the EVA1 with its 5.7K Super 35mm sensor can capture cinematic shallow depth of field while the CX350 might capture dynamic action shots from far in the distance with its 20x lens. With both cameras capturing in V-Log, it will be easier to match the look of both cameras in an NLE timeline.
When recording in V-Log, the 4K Super35 Vari Cam lineup (Vari Cam 35, Vari Cam PURE, VariCam LT) can captures 14+ stops of Dynamic Range. The EVA1 with it's 5.7K Super 35mm sensor can captures 14-stops. The CX350 and its 1" CMOS sensor can capture 13+ stops. As you may or may not know, ITU-R BT.709's system gamma is limited to 6.8 stops.
To store this expanded latitude, a logarithmic contrast curve is employed. However, displaying this huge range of image contrast (the darkest shadows to the brightest highlights) in Log format on a conventional monitor will show an image that looks flat and desaturated but these Log images are used to provide the greater flexibility for post color correction. You can then adjust V-Log for viewing using a 3D LUT (3D Look Up Table) such as the V-709 LUT, or the VariCam LUT Library.
Capture Wide Angles & Wide Dynamic Range
The CX350's integrated lens contains a wide angle of 24.5mm at the wide-angle setting with minimal-distortion. The 20x optical zoom lens covers the range from 24.5mm to 490mm (35mm film equivalent at 4K/HD). It also has the 35x(HD) / 24x(4K) Intelligent Zoom function. In both 4K and HD shooting modes, the CX350 uses 5-axis hand-shake correction that combines the effects of both optical and electronic image stabilization, providing a steadier image in unstable shooting conditions.
In addition to capturing conventional gamma modes (HD, SD, FILMLIKE 1/2/3 FILM-REC, VIDEO-REC), the CX350 now supports HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) to capture a wider dynamic range. The HLG standard was developed jointly by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company) and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and is currently supported by both TV stations and streaming services. When shooting HLG, the CX350 can be set to HDR or SDR Color Setting on each output - LCD/EVF, SDI and HDMI.
Additional Features
For sports shooters, Variable Frame Rate (VFR) recording can be set in the range of 1-fps to 60-fps (59.94Hz). In FHD mode, Super Slow motion can be achieved at 120-fps/100-fps (59.94Hz, 50Hz).
