I was looking for a carryon that maximized the interior space and was not clam shell opening and this suitcase definitely fits the bill! The extra pockets allow for additional storage space in addition to computer protected pocket. It really is an elegant bag and I love the burgundy/purplish color! Between this bag and my personal bag I'll be cruising Norway and spending a week in Scotland! Great for getaways and longer trips also.sturdy construction, spins like a dream and love the polycarbonate handle.

Dang I wish this roller came out two years ago. I have a perfectly good carry on. But I went ahead and got the PD Roller Pro for the design items that PD put into it. It's the flexibility of packing that I sold me. As a photographer traveling is a lot harder now and keeping my gear with me is very important. Using the packing cubes allows for flexibility. the roller has so many cool features I dare say it's my last piece of luggage. thank you PD. No it's not the least expensive roller out there but consider it an investment and well saving up for. BTW my daughter really does appreciate my other roller.

I got my Roller Pro as a kickstarter. This is the first time I took it on a trip and it has been so amazing. I am traveling in Japan right now so the Roller Pro came in very handy. I love that I can easily convert it from carrying my camera gear to carrying clothing for a weekend getaway. The thought put into every aspect is amazing. I really don't have any complaints.

Received this a couple weeks prior to 2 week trip to the US. Loved how the clamshell design really did make it easy to access everything inside, could be done while on one seat in an airplane. The front access was very convenient for holding passports, boarding passes, power bank and iPads. It makes grabbing everything easy from security check. The wheels were very smooth and hopefully there will be a newer version that allows you to lock them. The 360 handles make it easy to grab out of overhead compartments whichever angle you shoved it in. Shame the passthrough of my Tom Bihn Synik 22 didn't easily go through but that is not PD's fault regarding compatibility.

You're use might be different. I travel a good bit for work and I love the way it opens versus the clamshell style. The draw bridge opening makes it much easier to load and unload (I use the packing cubes) and actually much easier to grab something while in the overhead bin!

I received my Roller Pro, have used it already on multiple trips, and love it for all the right reasons. In fact, I think it is so great that I hope Peak Design makes a larger, check-in version. Kudos.

I've been excited about this roller bag for a while, as it addresses some of the issues I've encountered with roller bags in the past - the handle taking up space inside, hard sides limiting capacity, and wheels being lackluster, among others. To be clear, I'm not a roller bag person but rather a duffel pack kind of a guy. With that said, I also use a backpack so I'm always interested in moving a duffel off of my back. I'm a huge fan of Peak Design products so when they were releasing this I was excited to try it. I took this on a 7 day multi-city European trip with 3 airports, 3 hotels, trains, and car trips. It definitely addresses all of my concerns and surpassed by (no benefit of the doubt) expectations of a roller bag. Inside is well designed and functional for traveling and living out of a suitcase, especially if you use packing cubes. The construction and durability is top notch, with one critical flaw. When the bag is full, the zipper takes on a lot of stress at the point where it curves towards the bottom. For the casual traveler with a single destination, I think this will be a non-issue but for the road warrior optimizing capacity I'd be concerned that zipper will fail at some point. Yes, it has a great warranty but the concern would be a failure on a journey. If the zipper was a larger gauge this would be less of a concern. I hope that I'm proven wrong. Regardless, I think this is an amazing bag that I'll actually use.

There are several points to note. First of all, it's so easy to handle and move around maybe because of handle and tyres. This really makes you feel comfortable traveling with this roller. Secondary, I like how the lid is designed as I don't need to turn around the roller to open. You can adjust how widely the lid can be opened, so depending on how you want to use you can easily adjust the range to open the lid. Easily accessible small pokets both infornt and inside are also very useful.

Got it in May, have used it on 2 trips, but still not on an airplane. Materials are excellent and the features are spot on. The feature I love the most is the drawbridge opening - super convenient using it in a hotel room. I packed a medium and a small packing cube, a regular wash pouch and a regular hairdryer. Plus all my chargers and my MacBook. Well done PD Team!!

I bought this from the kickstarter campaign and immediately took it on a long trip through Europe. I'm about 3 weeks into the trip so far and the bag is holding up great. It is pretty heavily loaded when we're on the move full of laptops and camera equipment etc, but still manages to be useful and so far hasn't had any failures. The main flap zippers can be a little tough to zip sometimes, but the wheels are very good and overall it's a great bag.

This is probably the perfect carry-on suitcase. Simultaneously light and smooth-feeling and heavily featured. I think one thing people miss about this one: the storage options and pockets start to eliminate the need for other carrying cases (e.g., tech pouches, laptop sleeve) in a way that barebones carry-ons (e.g., Away) don't. There are some hiccups. The strings for the drawbridge opening frequently get caught in the zippers and it's difficult to adjust them on the fly. There's also an impulse, given the perfectly fitted camera cube that fills almost the entire suitcase, to think you could pack a carry-on's worth of stuff PLUS all your camera gear. It's not magical, so you can't. One thing I'd like to see from Peak Design in the future is fitted camera cubes that take up a smaller portion of the suitcase's space (e.g., 50%) so that you could maximize camera storage in the allotted area without trading nearly all of your storage for clothes, etc.

As a photographer that travels the Roller Pro combined with the XL camera cube is the best way to carry your gear. No more sore back from carrying all my gear. Rollers are great on loads of surfaces. It looks awesome too and have had loads of compliments about it already.

This rolls effortlessly; it's the smoothest roller I've handled. I'm not sure the laptop sleeve is necessary; most people carry these in a separate bag.

I took the Roller Pro for a trip around the UK. The Roller Pro was the perfect size and handled everything I threw at it. Far superior to my carry-on clamshell. Even after some rough treatment the exterior looks amazing!

Got mine through an early Kickstarter pledge. It rolls great - silent on tiles and smooth on concrete and asphalt. Haven't tried it on gravel. It's weatherproof and sturdy, even when expanded. The grips on both sides and the top are handy for carrying the roller up the stairs or swinging it around to ward off assailants and wild animals. The front full-open style access allows for easy packing. The laptop sleeve and EDC pockets are very convenient when you are working on the go. There's one thing I want Peak Design to do for me. Design a strap that I can attach to this roller, allowing me the option to use it as a backpack. And to all those still unable to decide which roller to buy... a whisper of advice: >> THIS IS THE ONE <<

I am a big fan of Peak Design products and always pack my carry-on bag with their Packing Cubes and Tech Pouch. The only issue I faced was finding a suitable carry-on for transporting my business suit, a couple of dress shirts, and one or two ties. I often had to switch to a larger suitcase to pack them neatly. Then, I discovered Peak Design's Roller Pro. This suitcase features multiple cords and loops, making it incredibly versatile. By attaching a small loop of string to the center loop inside the case, I can neatly tuck a thin garment bag inside. I use the travel hanger connected to this loop to ensure the garment bag doesn't shift while in motion. Now, it makes for a perfect carry-on for my 2- to 3-night business trips, allowing me to avoid the hassle at the check-in counter and baggage claim.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. I did not expect it to show up before we left for Europe for a few weeks but it arrived a day early and this thing is amazing! The way it rolls is incredible. We rolled it through airports, train stations, across cobblestone, and bumpy pavement and it didn't feel flimsy or tip over. We stuffed it full of our children's toys, souvenirs, a couple of rain jackets, and shoes and everything fit and came home in perfect condition. Traveling with my husband can be stressful. I honestly think this roller + the backpack made him a more pleasant traveler. You need to make a full size version and then he will become the ultimate traveler. Ya'll get a pass this year since he got the roller as a Father's Day gift. Buuut I need ideas for his birthday!! - Nov '26. ????

I've had many different higher end roller bags including Tumi and Away (and my check in is a Rimowa) but hands down, this roller bag is an incredibly designed and thoughtful travel piece. I've only had it for 2 months, but it's already made trips from the US to all over Europe and Asia, and continues to amaze me. The hinge design makes it so much easier to open on the fly, and it can fit a lot more than my other carry on backs.

Picked this (and the XL Camera Cube) up as a late Kickstarter backer, not 100% sure if I'd really need it. Got it in, and was surprised at how lightweight and roomy it was, while still feeling like a few steps above most luggage I've had in the past.

Recently took my new roller bag on a three week European adventure. Couple with the 40-45l backpack, and came home with a weeks worth of clean clothes. First trip with the new bag and found zero drawbacks.Replaced Tumi., normal folding carryon with Peak. Really liked the telescoping handle and extra interior space. Am sure that with usage, I will become more familiar with the features. Grab handles all around bag make lifting simple. And Peak backpack couple with bag easily.

Excellent product. I especially liked the innovative opening hinge from the bottom front and the way it stays open making both the front and main compartments accessible.

I've been waiting for Peak Design to release a luggage line forever. When I saw the Kickstarter, it was a no brainer and I even splurged for the get it asap bundle just so I can bring it on our trip to Japan. The bag is sleek, with well thought out design and details only Peak diehard can appreciate! Its build is so solid Andi don't feel like I need to baby it! Can't wait to see the memories I create with this bag!

I've been a longtime fan of Peak Design products, and the Roller Pro | Black continues to raise the bar. I've owned and traveled with many different suitcases over the years, but this is hands-down the best. From the ultra-smooth SlimDrive? handle to the quiet wheels and thoughtful internal layout, everything feels intentionally designed and refined. It's a joy to use-practical, durable, and stylish. Peak Design once again proves that function and form can go hand in hand.

Overall, both products are great. The only challenge is getting the Travel Pack sleeve strap off the handle of the Roller Pro as it gets hung up when trying to separate the two. The super techie Roller Pro handle hooks the sleeve strap on the pack.

I'm not going to lie. This is the most I've ever spent on any piece of luggage, let alone a carry-on. I was hesitant and held off. I just didn't want to do it. Something told me to trust them. I have several other pd products and I love them. I bought it, and a week later I went on a cross-country flight, stayed a night in the city (without a car), and hopped on a cruise to Alaska. This bag exceeded all my expectations. Each part was thoughtfully designed and I fit so much more than my other well-known brand carry-on. Get the bag. It's worth it. You won't be disappointed.

Meet the next leap in luggage. Roller Pro Carry-On is a 4-wheeled travel roller in a class of it's own, built differently from the ground up to hold more, drive better, protect better, and look better. In a world of look-alike rollers made from stock components, we went where other bag makers wouldn't go-pushing the practical limits of manufacturing to set a new standard for roller quality, utility, and aesthetic.
It starts with the innovative SlimDrive trolley handle, built from rigid, flat, and lightweight carbon fiber. SlimDrive eliminates wasted space inside the bag while also eliminating the bending/twisting that occurs in traditional 3-section aluminum handles. It's a driving experience lightyears ahead of other rollers. Roller Pro's hybrid construction (polycarbonate internal shell + Versa Shell outer fabric) offers hard-sided protection with the organizational flexibility of soft-sided luggage-a combination you'll find nowhere else. Same goes for the unique drawbridge opening, which gives you total access while taking up half the footprint of the traditional clamshell design. Pack and unpack in tighter spaces, and visualize your stuff in a more compact format. An exterior EDC pocket allowes quick stowage/access for items like passports, glasses, and headphones in the security line and in-flight, and a protected laptop sleeve magnetically seals on its own to prevent accidental spillage. An external Cord Hook carry system allows you to lash items to the outside of the bag, giving you that critical extra hand when dashing through the terminal. Inside, a Cord Hook retention system keeps stuff secured faster and more elegantly than traditional compression straps. Brilliant details are everywhere: weatherproof UltraZips that all lock together, a laser-cut Hypalon ID tag, padded grab handles, and secret AirTag and stash pockets.
And for photographers, meet your new mobile studio. Designed to perfectly fit the new Peak Design XL Camera Cube, Roller Pro provides endlessly customizable storage, access, and protection for a full professional camera kit, along with vertical space for organization of SD cards, batteries, and other small items. Whether you're in transit, in the field, or in the studio, Roller Pro is the ultimate assistant.
