Perfect umbrella for studio or location portraits and group shots.

Construction of the Photoflex adjustable silver 45" umbrella is robust. The quality of the light when using off camera flash is good. The only con is the cheap plastic sleeve case it comes in, mine arrived cracked and brittle. I have a cheap Glo umbrella that comes with a fabric case.

got this because of the brand quality. in combination with the umbrella diffusion sheet I was able to use my 30 year old white lightning 5000 as a softbox.

Photoflex 45" adjustable white umbrella

The adjustability part of it sounded cool and I have no idea what I was expecting but it appears that to change the shape you simply pull the cover off the tip of one or more spines. The literature says it's good for small areas because of this but the spines still stick out so you're not really making it smaller, just changing the shape of the light.

Maybe I don't get it but it's still a great "normal" umbrella. It would be awesome if it were both shoot through and adjustable.

These things are tough, period. Handle / stem is thick and the fabric is fastened well. Significantly more durable than others I've bought over the years from other brands.

Great umbrella. Good price.

Its nice to have a portable umbrella that is small, light, and can be used in three different configurations. Had a bit of trouble with the unit turning (especially outdoors) while mounted in its stand because the umbrella shaft is very shiny and hard to tighten down. So I dulled the smoothness of the shaft with a very fine sandpaper and it seems to stay in position much better now.

Really well built, fiberglass stays make it strong and resistant to breakage- worth the extra couple of bucks!

To be honest I don't use this much due to the small size. It was the first one I bought, purchased much larger ones after seeing how small it was.

Strange umbrella.

these umbrella's are great for indoor studio use. I would suggest using sandbags if used in an outdoor setting where wind may be a factor.

Umbrella seems well made. I have not used it much on location as of yet.I like the construction of the fiberglass rods It won't break or bend like other bands.I think it is a good buy

Umbrella seems well made

Photoflex's products are excellent, well made and durable. This particular product is not a shoot through umbrella, as the black cover doesn't come off. It was part of a kit, and although it isn't shoot through it is a good umbrella for those moment when you want non-directional bounce light out of a strobe. It fits nicely into my Elinchrom heads.

This is not a shoot through umbrella...

This is a lot more silver than my older Photoflex umbrellas. I really like the different ways one can configure it as well. A well thought out and a well made product. You can't go wrong with Photoflex.

this umbrellas are the best... the quality of them are superior of any umbrellas I got... they are not made with metal, so they and bend a little bit and return to the original form... I really like them.

Best umbrella ever

Hi I am a fashion photographer,and I use these umbrellas all the time,some people say that some umbrellas are flimsy or weak but what umbrella isnt,thats just the way they are all made. the bottom line is that I have 3 of these and I love them. They work great in big photo shootings and give you plenty of diffused light. Buy these umbrella your going to love them.

Simple,Great umbrellas I would buy again

I bought this as a supplement to the Photoflex Lite Dome softbox kit and have been pleased with it so far.  My only complaint is that the little plastic storage thing in came in broke immediately.  I was hoping for something a little sturdier but the umbrella itself is awesome, light weight, easy to store and assemble.

I use this for bouncing Nikon SB-800 and SB-600 flashes. It does an excellent job for portraits.

Have tried other, less expensive brands but none have the quality of Photoflex. Their customer support is also outstanding.
