Perfect lens?
This lens is sharp starting wide open and going through the aperture range. I use it on a Sony A7R II. It also reproduces colors very accurately. Autofocus is quiet and quick. The build quality is exemplary, having an all-metal barrel and hood. It is also compact and lightweight.
Really nice 90mm
Pretty much perfect for what it is. The only thing I'd like to see different is having a lock to keep the aperture ring in 'A' or not, it can get bumped.

The 90mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lens, with its versatile mid-telephoto focal length, is the longest I series lens to date. Despite its reach, it remains remarkably compact and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for everyday use.
Leveraging the camera's optical correction functionality, a unique advantage of mirrorless systems, SIGMA's optical designers focused on correcting aberrations that can only be addressed by the optical design. This approach not only enhances rendering performance but also reduces the size and weight of the lens.
With a minimum focusing distance of 50cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5, the lens enables close-up macro-style photography. It accentuates the subject, allowing photographers to capture fine details or create more abstract compositions.
The 90mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lens shares the same 64mm maximum diameter and 55mm filter size as the 24mm F3.5 DG DN | Contemporary and the 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary. This similarity makes them a perfect trio, especially for filmmakers who frequently use filters.
All I Series lenses boast an all-metal body, high-precision metal internal parts, and a metal hood for robustness and durability. They also feature a manual aperture ring and knurled surfaces for a satisfying tactile experience. An optional magnetic cap holder (CH-11) with a mini-carabiner is available for easy attachment to a camera bag, jacket, or belt loop. Its donut-style center hole makes it easy to remove a cap when it's time to place it back on the lens.
