The CVS 401 features a robust design with a 100 mm (4.00") polypropylene full-range driver and a 0.75" ferrofluid-cooled soft dome high-frequency driver. These components are housed in a UV and weather-resistant UL 94-V0 and 94-5VB ABS front, complemented by a plated steel fire can enclosure. The speaker's durability is further enhanced by a mineral-loaded polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround, while a powder-coated aluminum mesh grille provides dust protection.

Installation is straightforward with the CVS 401, thanks to its comprehensive package. It includes an integral zinc-plated steel back can with a recessed termination box, finished in a semi-matt white that blends seamlessly into any setting. The removable locking connector features screw terminals for secure wire termination and a "loop through" facility. A steel cover and strain relief clamping mechanism accommodate fire-rated cabling, while security toggle clamps ensure quick and easy installation. The package also includes two tile support rails and one C-ring, with an optional plaster (mud) ring available for additional installation needs.
