Perfect all around camera

Perfect travel camera. I am constantly using the very powerful telephoto lens. I bought my SX730 HS used on Craigslist. It developed a minor problem. Canon said they would fix it or replace it with a reconditioned unit. I was shocked when a Brand New one was sent to me.

Wouldn’t Recommend

I’ve had this camera for nearly a month, and the bluetooth capability has completely stopped working, as well as the camera did not come with a cord so i couldn’t transfer my footage.

I do not recommend this product

Poor quality. The images are not the best. I would never recommend it. Also I had to pay for shipment during the for a return. Getting a refund was not easy.

Very happy with my purchase

There are lots of fancy features on this camera that I'm not familiar with, yet I am enjoying taking pictures and videos of my grandchildren. I am quite happy with my purchase.

Canon PowerShot SX730 HS

I would like to see a wider angle on the zoom lens. Too far on the telephoto side too keep image in the frame.

Not had this camera long enough to fully evaluate its capability

The pictures I have taken are not as clear as I expected. I have not had the camera long enough to really evaluate its capability. Most of the pictures a have been taken indoors. I am taking a cruise in late January and this is the only camera I am taking. I am sure by the end of the cruise I will have a good idea of its usefulness. Note: on my last cruise I took a Nikon D3400. As expected I will compare pictures from this camera to those of the D3400.

Happy !!

The SX730 HS is my second Canon Powershot. I wore out my SX260. The powerful and compact size is perfect for me and I could work it right out of the box!!

Great little camera

Needed a small camera with a decent telephoto for wild life pictures while hiking. It’s hard to backpack with a big camera. This fits the bill. I have a larger format camera for use when appropriate but when your on the move this camera works well. A nice solid camera.

Extremely Useful

Have owned this camera since its release and am extremely satisfied. The zoom at full extension is incredible although I usually find a convenient place to rest against for stabilization. A hat for shade takes care of the view screen disappearance in full sun which is a problem common to every camera without a view finder. Have used this camera on two long cross country vacations visiting national parks and am very pleased with the results. (I have actually snapped shots from a moving car with unexpectedly good results. My big DSLR and its expensive lenses stay home while this camera travels in my handbag or pocket.

Nice Feature-Filled Camera

Camera was priced very competitively and has an a undance of features. You can also use aftermarket lens and filters that also fit the G7X. I have both cameras and the the Lensmate Quick Filter Change Kit fits both cameras and allows to install threaded 52mm folters to keep dirt and dust out.

Nice photos in a small package

For what is is a great compact camera. The 40x zoom is excellent and image stabilization makes shots at that range clear. Taking a star off for lack of a touch screen.

Easy!

We bought this camera a year ago to replace an earlier model of the same camera due to lens malfunction (I dropped it. It takes very good photos for a camera that fits in your pocket. We've gotten some good low light photos (no flash allowed) and some great pics with digital zoom, but you need a tripod or stable surface for those. I want to add that we've had great service from Canon in the past but haven't needed it with this camera so far.

Simple to use

I bought this recently for an upcoming trip to Alaska because of the telephoto range and pocket size. I did some practice with it while visiting the Cascades in Washington. I mostly used the Auto function and was pleased with the results. I'm looking forward to try some of the other photo options.

Perfect Pocketable Pic Taker

Got this to take on a two week trip and it did everything I wanted. Fits easily in a normal pants pocket. Telephoto is great both for distance and wide angle and exposure range is better than expected. Able to take night time pictures both outdoors and indoors without using flash. One thing could be added - some kind of dust cap to keep lens clean and protect leaf type lens cover.

Buyer's Remorse

I wish I hadn't bought the item. I miss a viewfinder because the screen washes out in bright sunlight. Worse is the software support. It is difficult to download pictures and have to take the memory card out. It has turned into a paperweight on my desk while I take the 13 year old Casio when I want a small point-and-shoot. The software hasn't been updated since mid 2017 so nothing is going to get better soon.

Great beginner vlogging camera!

Bought this camera for my daughter to start vlogging. It has the flip screen feature, which is so hard to find in this price range. The refurbished camera looks and works like brand new and arrived in 2 days! So pleased!!

Surprisingly Great

By JPa

Best SX I’ve ever had (hmmm...sorry that sounds Xrated. Has a 40X zoom and what I like is that because of the small pocket size, it’s easier to find your subject fast way up in the tree than with a larger camera. In good light you can get some great bokeh considering the small sensor. I have a Canon G7X that I used to love and I prefer this one because it turns out to be more versatile because surprisingly, I can get some great macro shots too...and I have a Sony A6000 with a fabulous 90mm m...

Great features, easy to use, and a flip screen!

By rlon47

I haven’t used an actual camera in years, relying on the ever-improving image quality of smartphones for snapshots and vacation photos and videos. That said, as my wife and I planned our first foreign vacation in five years, I found I wanted an actual camera as my primary tool for recording the memories. I have grown increasingly frustrated with phones from both of the top two. The cameras in smartphones record sharp images and with two lenses and optical image stabilization, can zoom well. ...
