If you have a Kameleon or Gratical Eye... This is a no brainer! Battery + On/Off switch. It doesn't get any better. I have Canon BP batteries that take PTap, but when it runs out, I am out of my EVF. On a RED, it helps wrangle wires to 1!!!!, on a DSLR/ Mirrorless it gives you freedom without having to add a VMount solution. Kit includes battery and charger... I mean, grab it and fire up your EVF. Easy. Only wish they sold additional battery plates for different batteries so that I could make it more system dependent, but we all have LP-E6's lying around.

After owning the Gratical Eye I can safely say this is a great option for anybody who wants to get into using EVFs. I didn't realize how much of a need it really was until I started using it more frequently. The Kameleon is different with it's form factor being small like the gratical but also having the ability to switch between SDI and HDMI. It's a huge perk considering sometimes you may need to move to a different camera system which doesn't have SDI. The monitor is bright and the tools inside the unit are straight forward and easy to navigate. I didn't even read the manual and I figured it out in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend this unit.

clear, sharp, full of features. I’ve used this evf 15 15 days straight since receiving and really have enjoyed it. No issues with fogging either when shooting in high humility locations! My only gripe is the focus adjustment is very sensitive and I find myself bumping it quite often and having to re adjust, hopefully they make a locki g replacement ring for this because it is way to loose for my liking. Over all if your looking for an evf definitely this is the one to get.

Of all the features this thing includes, Waveform isn't 1 of them. For $2000 you would think one of the most basic and universally adopted exposure tools would be included...not sure on the reasoning for that other than they still have Graticals to sell. Outside of illogical feature deprivation, the quality is top tier. The display fills your field of view and you do not need to hunt around the eye port to see the edges. The merriment of Zacuto parts to an amazing JTZ EVF have made for a very useful piece of kit for not much more than JTZ was originally charging.

I've used Zacuto products for several years now...everything from their shoulder rigs to EVF's. One thing I've come to learn over the the years is you get what you pay for. With Zacuto, while not the cheapest, nor the most expensive...their products are built tough and are well worth the price point because they stand behind them. With their latest Kameleon offering...in my opinion, it's the best EVF they've ever created. Small, yet feature packed, it's really an EVF that can be used by high end cinematographers as well as the indie filmmaker. $2k is substantial..I agree. But when you put your eye up to this thing...you realize it's worth it.

The Kameleon EVF, 'powered by JTZ', offers unique features like 4K HDMI input downscaled to 1080P, 3D LUTS. With this EVF and our trio of powerful Gratical EVFs, we have an EVF for every shooting style. The Kameleon differs over the Graticals by offering 4K HDMI input downscaled to 1080P, 3D LUTS and a larger screen with camera data overlayed on the image. The Gratical EVFs have a 16x9 image with space underneath for Vectorscope, Waveform and Histogram. The Kameleon has a 4 pin LEMO power jack and a single SDI and HDMI input.
The Kameleon is the perfect EVF for Mirrorless and DSLR cameras and it's SDI input adds versatility so that you can use it on a wide variety of other cameras. Like all Zacuto EVFs, It features a built-in -1 to +4 diopter range and Zacuto's patented essential anti-fog coating formula. It never fogs in humidity or freezing temperatures. An auto-closing eyecup door helps prevent your display from getting burned by the sun.
