Somehow I've own nearly every pocket camera. The HX-99 is the best of the lot. Ease of use and low learning curve. Point and shoot that is all there is to it. If you are more of a camera person and want all the extras this is still the camera for you.

Great camera offering one of the best zoom lenses for the price point. Specs of the camera offer photography at macro or zoom ranges. The menu is easy to follow. Hard to set up wifi syncing with my mobile phone or computer. Still haven't figured it out yet and the directions don't offer suggestions for the error that pops. up. Once I figure out the wifi feature the camera will be perfect for the photography hobbyist!

My camera was on back order so I didn't get it in time for vacation. Once everything arrived, it was all as described except the tripod is still on back order. The camera itself is very compact and easy to learn the menus. All except using wifi. I can't get the wifi feature to sync with my mobile phone, It would be great fo have a tutorial or have someone look at the error messages. Other than that--the camera works fine. Since I didn't get it in time for vacation I haven't been able to use it much around the house. I really wanted the camera for the zoom feature to photograph nature. It is a very powerful zoom lens and can't wait to capture nature photos with the zoom lens. I was looking for a compact camera that wasn't too cheap in specs such as the zoom or lens type. This camera offers a lot at a good price point.

The camera is an excellent choice for anyone traveling and not wanting to take a big DSLR and a bunch of lens. The quality of the pictures is excellent but not professional. For vacation, travel, and use on a regular basis, it's a great choice. I recently purchased a Fuji X-T30- a great camera but more camera than I need. And using it for non-professional (everyday) purposes is ridiculous- wayyy to complicated. (Anyone interested in a real good deal on a pretty complete and hardly used X-T30 kit, give me a yell.) For now, and for my purposes, the HX-99 is just fine, and it's small and light enough that it is not a hassle to carry- or use for that matter. Good camera and a good choice for me.

Bought this camera for concerts, but I didn't get even a one shot sharp with full zoom (30x) and low light, my previous camera canon Powershot SX230HS gave some sharp pics with full zoom (14x) and low light.

I purchased this camera for a Seine River cruise. I did not want to carry my DSLR gear. This camera takes sharply focused images and has all the setting adjustments of the DSLR (M, P, Av, Tv). There is a pop up viewfinder with diopter adjustment and the LCD viewfinder swings out. I carried the camera on my belt in the little bag that came with the purchase and it was comfortable and convenient.

Camera seems easy but without a printed user manual it is a pain in the ### to have to print 500+ pages or go online to find out how to use the features

Haven't used the camera yet. The 32 SD shipped with the camera was not a micro that can be used in the camera.

Needed to replace a travel camera recently and was impressed by the new Sony on paper. I have used it now for a few weeks including a Florida trip. Great zoom produces very impressive shots using auto mode. Extremely small and light so easy to take along.

nice little camera with some great range. I love that it has the ability to shoot landscape, or zoom in tight for a wildlife photo. With the high fps and the fact that you can shoot in raw, I think this is the perfect addition to my camera bag.

This is a great travel camera. Although pocket-sized, it has enough creative-auto and traditional modes plus the huge zoom to make any prosumer happy. Image quality is not equal to a full frame rig and it's noisier in low light. OTOH, it's better than my Apple XS. I don't like the two-step process of raising the viewfinder and pulling out the diopter, (even if you don't need a diopter adjustment, and I don't like the fact that HDR bracketing is limited to ±0.3 EV. Other than that, very very cool.

It was smaller than I expected, and this became a problem because it was hard for me to hold steady (I'm used to a DSLR). Also it uses micro SD cards which means I would have to start collecting a new set of cards. The eyepiece worked OK but is a pop up which you then have to pull on to set focus, when you push it back down the camera shuts off, not sure I liked that idea and I think it will become a mechanical problem after continuous use. Decided it was nor for me and sent it back.

It’s a very nice camera I bought for my wife. She wanted geo positioning so I’m returning it and ordering a DSC-90V instead.

I purchased this three weeks ago for a trip to Peru, also carried my Sony A6000 along. The 4K videos were crisp and selfie mode is perfect if you're into that sorta thing. Viewfinder was fine once we figure it out but touchscreen was not great for shooting. (I may need to read up on the touch functions more) Zoom was nice but a small tripod is helpful to keep steady. Menu system is complicated so familiarize yourself with it before a big trip. WiFi worked fine for transferring photos. Shot in JPEG and Raw.

PRO: The default settings right out of the box produced good pictures. Properly exposed, good color balance. The attached photo was only cropped, no other corrections were applied. The lens is very good for such a wide telephoto range with acceptable sharpness and clarity at both extremes of the focal length range. CON: The configuration of this camera is somewhat challenging. The number of menus, the number of settings and some non-standard naming conventions make getting the settings I want an exercise in frustration. In addition some of the settings are not available depending upon the camera mode (focus area for instance). The camera also appears to re-focus between shots when shooting multiple single-shot exposures. This leads to out-of-focus images when shooting in rapid succession as the camera does not appear to re-focus quickly enough. Overall a good choice for a super-zoom pocket camera if you are willing to climb the learning curve to get it configured the way you like.

I'm happy with the cam. The thing is extremely easy to take with you. The problem is that the stabilization is very lacking. You can get blurry photos even at half zoom. Let alone full 720mm. 3/4 times the photo won't be usable. They should try to fix this. The zoom is the main selling point and you can't use it that much. Also the touchscreen is almost useless. You can't even use it to input a password!

The telephoto is really good, quick, and the focus is great, too. Lightweight and handy. Using a tripod is important for the longest range. I have a small Gorilla unit and used it as a handle for steadier shooting. Like the viewfinder, and movable LCD screen. Right now I only have Pros and I would recommend this camera to anyone, professional or amateur. More time will tell. I've only had the camera for about two weeks. The Zeiss lens image clarity is great, as is bokeh capture.

Just started playing around but my plans to shoot Rome and Venice without my FX DSLR and all my gear is getting easier to imagine. Still need to do some long exposure testing but I'm currently getting much more comfortable with the idea.
