Love the minilogue so far.
Amazing Synth!
I have been playing piano/keyboards for 50 years, but this is my first analog synth. I am very pleased with it! I had been looking at other models (Subsequent 37, Deepmind 12, and Minilogue). The Moog is awesome, but a little pricey for me. The Deepmind has a better price, but the signal path on it seems a little limiting and many of the controls are only accessible through menus (not on the front panel). The minilogue xd is a sleek and stylish instrument that features a Prologue MULTI Engine, an expanded sequencer, 3X multi-effects, an X/Y joystick, and CV INs. This sophisticated synthesizer is a polyphonic analog synthesizer, capable of producing multiple sounds simultaneously. This sets it apart from other synthesizers that can only produce one sound at a time. The Prologue MULTI Engine, combined with the expanded sequencer and multi-effects, allows for a wide range of sound design possibilities.
The minilogue xd also features a digital multi-engine, providing additional sound design possibilities. The synthesizer comes loaded with 200 presets and a total of 500 programs can be saved. The minilogue xd features a customizable open environment, with 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots that you can customize. Oscillators and user programs that you've created with the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the minilogue xd via the dedicated librarian software.
The step sequencer provides 16 steps and supports both realtime recording and step recording. The joystick controls pitch bend and modulation depth, and a desired parameter can also be assigned to the up/down axis. The four voice modes (POLY, UNISON, CHORD, ARP / LATCH) offer further sound design possibilities.
The minilogue xd is equipped with the micro tuning function, allowing you to individually adjust the pitch of each key. The organic EL display is now larger and also provides oscilloscope functionality for you to view sound as the electrical signal's waveform. This makes parameter changes visible in real time, giving you visual feedback that helps you understand how the synthesizer works.
