Used Polk Audio Omni S2 Collection Wireless Multi Room Speaker, Single

Bought a refurbished on Polk site, I felt that the setup was more troublesome than it should have been. But I did get it connected and thought the audio quality was fine for such a speaker. I was disappointed to discover that I could not stream my Apple Music service through the app. I could only stream Apple Music purchased and downloaded to iPhone. I use Amazon Music as well so I will use that service for this speaker. I did find the wifi drops if too far away from router, and the service playing would not reconnect. Nice it has a AUX jack, and wish it also had a bluetooth option.

As is expected with Polk, the sound is quite good. However, the dependence on an app to even function at all makes them rather useless. Have just 1? Okay, maybe you can get away with it. Want to use multi-room or their wireless stereo feature? Forget about it. Requires playing through their app and doesn't support third party apps nor the aux input at all.

Incredible idea of having a speaker in each room and controlling each one individually and simultaneously! The downside side is that the quality is not like my old stereo system with Bose speakers. You cannot control the treble/bass. I was told that that feature is coming down the road. Omni has it but the system is more money. I am going to try stereo next. Also, the set up may not be that simple for you. I had a defective speaker but the othre speaker was fine. The techs at Polk are very helpful.

Bought 2 S2 speakers. Was having trouble with one that kept dropping wi fi, even though other devices in the same area worked fine with the same wi fi. Got a wireless extender, which helped. Came home one day, and neither speaker could be found by the app. Had to re-add both of them, and one just refused to be added. After 30 minutes, just as I was about to chuck it out the window, it finally connected. With an app upgrade, I made the 2 speakers a stereo pair. Almost every time I have used the stereo pair, something has gone wrong. Many times, the stereo gets out of sync, with one speaker being a second or so off the other. This delay makes an echo effect. If I stop the music and restart, all re-syncs and is good. But that is a pain. If I play a set of music, when it ends, I have to go through the process of picking music, picking speakers, waiting, and finally getting back to where I can play more music. Very frustrating, and it seems unnecessary. And now, one of the stereo pair has dropped out. No indication as to why, but that app notes that one speaker is missing. I don't know how to get it back. The app won't let me drop the stereo pair. So I have a one speaker stereo. Not very useful. Overall, the speakers sound VERY GOOD. But the software is just not ready for prime time. Thinking perhaps I should have gone with Sonos.

For the size of the speakers they sounded great!! However, these are Wi-Fi speakers and the functionality of the speakers is TOTALLY dependent upon the app. The iPad/iPhone app is poorly designed, lacks functionality, is unreliable and the interface is amateurish at best.

Who's says good things don't come in small packages? I'm so impressed with the full sound coming from these compact speakers. I bought this for my home office but have used it in other rooms through out the house. It's so easy to move, and set-up. I'll definitely be buying more for my whole-house sound solution. The software for my mobile device is intuitive and easy to use so I can control this one speaker or multiple speakers throughout my home. Very impressive.

I was looking for a compact speaker with a big sound, that I could move to any room...and this speaker didn't disappoint! This speaker is easy to set-up, plays Pandora or any of the mobile, wireless music apps, and delivers quality audio. For a speaker so small, it really handles the full spectrum of the audio, including the lows...and extremely crisp highs! I've bought Polk's before, so I was already a fan - this platform isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

I was introduced to Polk a little over a year ago and immediately fell in love with the brand's personal audio products. I'm especially obsessed with Polk's headphones and desktop speakers because of their incredible sound. When I learned Polk came out with a wireless music system, I was thrilled; I had just begun thinking about investing in a speaker collection like this. I ended up going with the S2 first because I thought it would be perfect for use in any room of my house ... and I was right! This speaker delivers amazing, powerful sound, and it's easy to move from room to room - I even bring it outside. I had no problems setting it up and immediately began streaming from Pandora. The design is sleek and modern, so I'm excited to eventually purchase some of the other speakers from the Omni Collection!

I was given this as a gift from a friend, who knew I wanted someway to have music in my office without buying a whole system. From the ease of setup, the app quality, and of course the sound, I was blown away! Just a great speaker.

The Polk Omni S2 was extremely easy to set up and start using. Only took me a minute or so to be streaming Pandora. The sound is great for a small speaker. Although it works well in a desktop location, I found that if you place it a bit further away from where you are sitting the sound is even better. Also, laying it on its side versus on its end, seemed to enhance the sound quality. I also really like that you can enable it in the settings menu to go to pause when a phone call comes in. Be nice if you could take it outside for a true wireless speaker, but I think I noticed they have one available that does that. Great product overall!"

Just got the OMNI S2 and EXTREMELY pleased with it! Set up is a piece of cake and the sound is just AMAZING! I will surely add a few units to the house as this makes a great ALL OVER the House music system! Way to go POLK!!!!!!

I purchased the Polk Omni system a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy with my purchase! I checked out the Sonos system as well, but after listening to each system I went with the Omni. To me, the sound quality is way better on the Polk system. And, the price was great. I got two of the Polk S2 speakers and the SB1 sound bar. My house is 2 stories, 1,400 sqft and these 3 tiny speakers manage to fill my house with incredible sound. I had a Bose system before, but I think the Polk wireless system sounds way better, which was really surprising to me. I thought there would be a loss in quality by going wireless, but that's definitely not the case. I wanted to test the system before investing too much money, but after using it I've decided to purchase the Polk Omni S2 rechargeable speaker (or 2 as well so I can use it in the loft and backyard. I do a ton of entertaining so it will be great to be able to play the same music in and out of the house. I have always been a music lover, but I find myself listening to music far more than ever before because it's just so convenient now. The Polk Omni system makes enjoying music easier than ever before. I used to have to walk upstairs to turn my Bose system on or make any adjustments, which was kind of a pain, but now I just click on the app when I walk in the door to have music playing everywhere in the house. I have my phone with me all the time, so I love the convenience of being able to change songs, volume, etc., no matter where I am in the house. Although I'll probably won't use it often, I like that you can play different music on each speaker with the Omni wireless speakers. Set up was super simple, too. It only took about 15 minutes to connect all the speakers to my WiFi. The app is easy to use as well. Overall, I couldn't be happier!

I have this speaker in a very large living room and the sounds fills the space much better than I anticipated. The set up was very easy and the app is intuitive. The wireless connection is flawless and the sound is without any static / interference. I love the ability to control the music by individual room, or connect multiple units in stereo. This is an awesome product and as someone who has fished wires thru walls, I am thrilled to never have to do that again, nor do I need to hire an AV technician to help me. This is a great example of technology coming together to make life more enjoyable!

I love my new S2 speaker! The sound is amazing with excellent base and clarity. You can crank the volume and the sound stays clear with no feedback or scratchiness. It was easy to set up with the app on our phones and Ipad. We now listen to music more often as a family just because it is easier. We will definitely be adding to more of these speakers to our system, we love it. I highly recommend it!

Recently added the S2 to my household collection of speakers and I'm already hooked. Looking forward to adding more pieces in more rooms and maybe get an Omni amp too. Once the S2 was setup it has been pretty much plug and play. It's mostly been living in our bedroom where I've been reading and listening at the same time. For the price you can't go wrong. And i has better range and cleaner sound than most other wireless (whether Bluetooth or AirPlay) speakers in the Omni S2's range.

I first heard these at Polkfest....I was very impressed with how full they sounded from such small package. Very easy to setup with Polk App that you download (I have iPhone 6 plus and wife has Galaxy Note 4 and work seamlessly with both. I have 5.1 RTi series home theater setup currently and very familar with Polk audio sounds....they fill the room with such ease and makes you think about what went into making them....Wife is the primary user when she's in the kitchen and they are sitting at the counter flush to the backsplash....so my son can watch Power ranger on the iPad...when you hold in your hands you can feel the weight of it.... the bass feels artificial with some songs, I know there's an advanced Polk app that you can tweak the settings the Omni S2 but have not tried it yet..... wife can play with Play-fi on Omni S2. I wish there was a way we can have Youtube played on Omni S2 since the speakers are portable and great on the go... I would buy the rechargeable model if I had to do it again....i love the sound that it makes...good work Polk!!

Everything about my Omni S2 has been a great experience. As soon as I opened the box I could tell I had a great product. The packaging made me feel like I was getting something really cool, which I was. Once out of the box, I downloaded the free Polk app, held the wifi button down on the Omni for 8 seconds, selected my wireless network from the app and that was it. I had great quality sound with a very attractive looking product in a few minutes. Its even something my wife lets me leave out on the bar because its not an eye sore like some speakers. The quality of the sounds is great. If you want to play something ambient the Omni can fill the entire room but still at a lower volume. Or if you want to turn it up loud the quality follows. I would recommend the Omni S2 to any of my friends and I will definitely be purchasing more products from Polk.

I got this a couple of weeks ago when it first came out for my kitchen. I needed to replace an old iPhone dock and I thought this would be good if I wanted to invest in more speakers after. Pleasantly surprised with the sound. It is a lot louder than my old iPhone dock. More bass too. I'm a little concerned with how the fabric grille will wear over time, but so far so good. The app took a little to get the hang of, but once you get it set up, super easy. It comes with two grilles so I guess I'll be OK there. I'll probably add a few more when I do my christmas shopping :-)
