Not recommended. The monitor out of the box was great, but after a couple of years I have found that it just won't survive. I have to run it at as minimal of settings to keep the horrible fan wine down. Overclock to 160? No way. Use the LED features? Nope. Run audio through the monitor? Risky. Basically have to use every power saving feature available on the monitor or listen to a horrible fan the entire time. Seems like a pretty common issue for others as well.

Monitor was great until it developed a vertical colored line. 3 and a bit years old and only 1 year warranty. Ive had 3 other (non LG) monitors for 15 years and theyve survived moving multiple times without issues. This will be the last LG product i purchase.

Bought this 4 years ago and it has not been moved since. Randomly, the power adapter stopped working. I contacted support so they could repair it or replace it. I was treated to a conversation with a bot who gave me a part number for a new adapter for $133. Power adapters for $900 products should not randomly stop working and then customers charged ridiculous amounts for replacements.

I bought 2 of these monitors in 2020 and they were great for 4 years. Only has HDMI 2.0 so you need to go Display Port if you want to truly use it as a gaming monitor. Middle of 2024 I had issues with one of the monitors blowing pixels and having a vertical line. About 3 months later the second monitor started experiencing the same thing. After contacting support, the monitors were out of warranty due to purchase date....

I have two of these monitors. They are meh. The picture quality seems fine for 4k, but I have had problems. - lots of blue light, probably not great foe eye health. - terrible software. seriously really bad.

Bought this back in 2021 and the monitor was a big upgrade for me then. Now in Jan 2025, a single discolored blue/red vertical line appeared on my monitor. I troubleshooted the wires and my graphics card, but it is still visible without anything plugged in. When looking for an answer, I stumbled upon all the poor reviews here that shows many people having the same issue years later. What a disappointment! I was looking to buy another LG monitor but after these common horrible issues that happens years later, I will opt out of LG.

Had the monitor for 4 years. Worked great, Then developed a vertical line on the screen. After reading the reviews here all this time later it sounds like there are a ton of people with the same issue. It's a defective product. DO NOT BUY. By the way, LG provides NO customer service for this obvious manufacture flaw. Best they will do is offer you 15% off a new product. Unfortunate.

I'm glad that I finally purchased a 38" monitor, so as to maximize the screen real estate for my windows. The images are great. I would give the monitor 5 stars, except (1) the software doesn't allow you to turn off the No Signal message and disable the LED lights turning on while the monitor is asleep and (2) the software that manages the window splits doesn't consistently remember the previous placement of the windows when you come out of Sleep mode. But these are minor points. It is a great monitor, and I look forward to years of productive use.

Good product however I do run into issues such as if I play a game and I move my character it almost sharpens my graphics then when movement stops it goes back to normal , second issue is my amazon fire stick 4k max is only detecting this is 1080p monitor makes no sense other then that I do enjoy it with most games

If you like a monitor priced at $800 that will only last 2-3 years this is the perfect fit for you. After that, you get a nice vertical line that you can use to keep your spot while reading online articles!!! Don't want that line? Ok, they'll fix it for you for $350, but the monitor will be gone for 6-8 weeks. So I hope you have a backup or replacement. Want dual monitors of the same kind? I hope you want to switch the USB cable around to manage the back LED ring or update the firmware, since nobody at LG conceived of the notion that anyone would possible have more than one. Huge price, low quality, poorly designed companion software.

This is unfortunately a fundamentally flawed monitor which LG will not stand behind. Like many others, I also experienced vertical lines after three years, which, based on the number of reviews that mention the issue, are a result of either a manufacturing flaw, or a design flaw, or both. Based on the widespread issue of these vertical lines, I would have expected a more positive interaction with LG's support, whom I have contacted and with whom I come to a disappointing conclusion. They are clearly not interested in properly supporting their (fairly expensive) flawed product and cultivating customer loyalty. As a result of my poor experience with LG's products and support, I will no longer be buying any LG products now or in the future. It's a shame because if I didn't have this technical problem that required repair, or LG was willing to make it right, I would have otherwise been mostly happy with this monitor. My main issues with the monitor in a properly functioning state are 1) that the FALD backlight is quite visible in creating blooming on dark/black backgrounds and 2) the monitor does not adjust low enough. It's a minimum of 4-5 inches off the bottom of the base, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, the monitor did what I expected it to do.

Fantastic and amazing monitor for the price. However, shortly after the warranty was up did I get a straight line of yellow pixels vertically down the monitor on the right side, and it looks like a TON of people report this kind of issue too. I have three of these, and my oldest one is doing it... so I really don't hope that the other two are going to do this too. I already tried swapping out the Display Port Cables with ones that work (from the other monitors) but the line remains. I think this is a flaw in the panel. I'd be really happy if LG would consider replacing this for me.

Forgive me for giving the monitor a rather unfavorable review, but I do remember when products would last at least 10 years. Granted the performance was awesome and the thing has served me better than expected. However, $800 plus tax is nothing to sneeze at. For far less I've had monitors that have conquered the test of time. I bought this from Best Buy almost 4 years ago exactly according to the receipt 9/16/2020, today is 9/8/2024. But as of a week ago I got a stuck pixel on the far left side, and now there's a vertical line across the monitor on the right. It's a shame, but I guess that's just what you get for a 1 year Manufacturer's Warranty. I'll definitely try to stay away from LG from now on.

This is a faulty monitor that develops vertical lines after about 2-3 years of ownership. It is well documented by dozens of consumer complaints on this website and on Reddit. I spent $1,600 on two of these and both developed lines right in the window every one else's did. LG will do nothing to meet customers half way and give them a break on the service fees. Their licensed service companies are even worse. LG charges $350 per monitor plus shipping to fix them and their local service techs charge over $100 just to look at the monitor. This is a HORRIBLE business practice on all fronts. I will never buy another LG monitor because of my experience here. A well deserved bad score.

The monitor is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble updating the monitor's firmware. Onscreen Control says it's the latest version. However, this is the very first version 1.0.0.0. The update process could be better designed. I need help and an answer from LG.

The LG 27GP950-B is an incredible 4K gaming monitor and perfectly priced. As a devoted gamer, I recently upgraded from my previous LG 4K gaming monitor to the 27GP950-B as an essential part of my gaming setup. The HDR color gamut really is incredible right out of the box - I didn't need to make many adjustments to get it exactly where I want it for both FPS and fantasy/adventure games. I really enjoy the lightning-fast response time and I've always seen this as an edge in competitive online FPS gameplay. The motion handling and minimal input lag combined with VRR has never produced any frame tear for me. It's always fluid, giving me the precision and control I need (I primarily play Destiny 2 for FPS). The HDMI 2.1 connectivity is the biggest reason for the upgrade to the new panel over my previous panel. I was so happy with the older LG 4K gaming monitor (purchased in late 2019), but ultimately needed 120 Hz refresh rate for my PS5 setup. The difference for competitive FPS is way more pronounced than I expected it to be - you need those additional frames vs. 60 Hz when it comes to online FPS. It's buttery smooth and the 27GP950-B never misses a frame or stutters. I have the monitor positioned on a dedicated gaming desk, and it's the centerpiece of my gaming setup. The sleek design and adjustable stand make it easy to find the perfect viewing angle, ensuring hours of comfortable gaming sessions. Having been a loyal user of LG monitors for years, I can confidently say that the 27GP950-B has met or exceeded all my expectations. The combination of rich colors, bright screen, fast response time, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity make it a must-have for any serious gamer. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, especially given the high-end performance at a high-mid tier price point. Unless you have the money to burn, I don't think it's worth spending $1500+ on a dedicated gaming monitor. That's why I'd recommend the LG 27GP950-B.

The only problem I have is the monitor stand being very large and it's shape making it waste alot of space on my desk, but you can always buy a mount if it's a issue. The resolution is useful for about anything, if you can use Windows at 100% scaling, do so. Otherwise keep it as low as you can. Which makes me wish why there wasn't a 32 inch variant at the time. I feel like it would've benefited from doing so. The colors are good enough for anyone, and I hope the entry for these types of monitors will get lower.

I bought this monitor just under three years ago, and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Two years after the purchase, the screen developed a frozen pixel line, significantly impacting its functionality. What's even more disheartening is that the warranty had already expired by then. To add insult to injury, the cost of repairing this issue is almost half the price of the monitor itself. The lack of durability and the manufacturer's unhelpful stance post-warranty make this monitor a regrettable investment. I caution others against this product, as its short-lived reliability and costly repair make it an overall unsatisfactory purchase.

Complete garbage display that failed after a little more than a year. It's the second UltraGear display I've had fail due to similar panel issues. Customer support was nonexistent. I attempted to find an authorized repair location through the LG website and one of the providers simply said "it's cheaper to buy a new one," the other one was out of business, and calling LG customer support was like talking to a child who barely knew what a monitor was. They sent me an email quote for repair that simply said "$700" when I'd asked for a repair quote to have my credit card company cover the repair. I'm extremely disappointed with LG after being a long time customer and will no longer buy their products.

After about 2.5 years the monitor developed a yellow and a blue vertical line. Not what I would expect from a monitor that costs this much. Otherwise, it was a great monitor. Fantastic image quality. I recommend that you buy the extended warranty if you decide to purchase this monitor.

Top of the line image quality, but I've got a faint vertical light line after 3 years, which is also reported by many other uses on Reddit. I know the product only has one year warranty, but this is really what I don't expect from a $799 monitor.

In general, it worked well for a long period of time. It has some nice pro features like integrated calibration, so you don't need to run calibration over multiple computers. The picture quality (color/contrast) is a step up from the 60hz 4K displays LG makes, and those are quite nice too. I'm giving 1 star because it's not a reliable product. After 18 months, the monitor will randomly start shooting red lines across the screen. It's not constant, and the only way to trigger it is to have high contrast items on a screen, or media content on a dark background (such as YouTube). Changing picture profiles sometimes gets rid of the issue, but it returns. After multiple calls to customer service and resets and recalibrations of the monitor, the problem persists. I've had other monitors for 5+ years that exhibit no long term degradation (including from LG), for nearly a thousand dollars it's not really acceptable that this monitor can't hold up. LG quoted $350 to replace the panel, which seems steep considering their supposedly premium product can't clear 2-3 years of normal use. What's worse is that LG said there is only a 90 day warranty on the service they provide, and it isn't possible to purchase a longer warranty for their own servicing.

Love the image, but a few issues bring the score down. 1) Reliability. I read a LOT of folks get a full line of bad pixels around the 2.5yr mark. It happened exactly after 2.5yrs of the day I set it up for me. 2) The light bar at the back. No way to turn it off every time and just turn it on when you want... It's ON all the time and I have to turn it off when I dont want it on. 3) Priced high for only having a 1yr warranty!

Is it 4k @144hz? Yes! The fun ends there. Mine has had freezing issues since I first got it 3 years ago and just last month, it developed 1 yellow vertical line and now 1 purple vertical line next to that. It's ruined. I would say it's a fluke but it's the second LG panel I've had do this in the past few years. I no longer trust this brand.

Hello, The LG 27GN950-B has been amazing the only issue that I have is customer service Not wanting to send a new one out to me. In the passed view months I have been experience flickers In my screen.. and pixels breaking up... I have change the cord more than once.. Which is not the issue I have also RMA my 4070Ti and got it back and still the same issue I keep having also for some reason when I am gaming on this monitor the blacks seem to be really dark and I have no idea why I also have to say that HDR makes whites way brighter than they should be and the blacks darker than they should I have also powered reset and pictured reset my monitor when calling customer service you are not able to speak with some one in the USA that understands English or Technology at they have no idea what they are doing or talking about but for the monitors build and shape is fine. What I do not like about the panel is that it push a white/grayish hasse on the over the game which should not be there also you have different profiles on the monitor that really like terrible but could be fixed and only game profile 1 Has HDR which they should all have and the hasseness should be taking out of the panel and more colors popping even when looking at white pages where you type the black outline some times also fads aways and you can barely see it
