Really blown away by the build quality and durability of this little lens. Though it has some slight vignetting and distortion, it is nothing that can't be fixed in post. I use this lens primarily for real estate interior photos and outdoor climbing photos when I need a wide angle. It preforms amazing in ample light as well as low light situations and the thick/geared focus ring makes me feel like a professional.

I have the 35, 50, 75 and realized I needed something wider for a shoot coming up. I am a big fan of all the SLR Magic primes and finished a pbs doc using the other lenses exclusively. It looks fantastic and they are easy to get a feel for. They are clean but have some character. Not sterile looking. The 18 is the same way and focuses extremely close. Perfect for masking a low budget Revanant.

This is not a photography lens, but is quite adept and sharp at all forms of photography. You probably need to take the distance measurements with a grain of salt. But this is true of many similar lenses and can be combated by focus assists.

I couldn't get it to focus on infinity. The stars in the night sky were not sharp at all. I returned it and got a Zeiss 18mm f2.8.

SLR Magic extends it's full frame lens lineup with the SLR Magic CINE 18mm F2.8 wide angle lens.
The field of view of the SLR Magic CINE 18mm F2.8 opens up many new creative and compositional opportunities, particularly in the areas of interior, architectural and landscape cinematography and photography.
The compact size of the SLR Magic CINE 18mm F2.8 wide angle lens also makes it a good choice of lens to be used with gimbals.
