I have had my camera for about 1 month now and I could not be happier. I bought the camera with the intention of starting a vlog and recording some of my classes I teach. The video quality is amazing, it takes beautiful pictures, and it's easy to use. My only complaint would be that there is no mic input. I have a basic mic set that I would like to use and can't find any cord to work with this camera which makes recording audio on the go very difficult. Overall, really happy with the purchase but if anyone knows of a cord that will work for connecting my mic PLEASE let me know!

I've been a loyal Canon user for many many years but I was disappointed with the performance of this G7X. I bought it mainly for its size and F-stop but other than that, it's overall performance was just so so. First of all, the focus was soft and low night performance was mediocre. I was surprised when I visited Japan last month and want to use the internal flash for the first time and it won't pop up and I've missed so many great photo opportunities. QC process will definitely need to be improved.

I've owned this camera for a year now .. It was an upgrade of my S100. I've used it in may situations, indoors, outdoors, low light, daylight and with the flash. It is exceptional when shooting raw and pretty quick for a point and shoot when taking pictures. I use it on vacations where I don't want to take out a DSLR .. It's a little bigger than pocket size, but I'm a big guy so it fits in my pocket just fine. I've begun to use wifi much more than I have in the past because of how easy it's become and I can share pictures quickly. The functions are easy to use and pretty straight forward, and my wife just throws it in A+ and the pics still come out great. Now I haven't seen the Mark ii of this camera, but the price will drop here based on it's arrival. Will say this .. if your looking for an easy to use camera, that provides great pictures with vibrant colors and lots of manual controls, take a look. With the price drop it's a bargin!

1- Canon rejected my negative review once - I will not trust positive reviews any more. 2.Previously I had G7X since I love it so much but I gave it to someone. I bought a new one recently and It is not comparable with that one. I have the new one for about 15 days and I couldn't even take 1 picture that can satisfy my desire. G7X camera is one of the best but I don't know why there should be huge difference between exactly same brand. my cellphone pictures are much more nicer than G7X pictures. This one is a refurbished and I never recommend refurbished cannon to anyone!

Received as a gift and it has been one of the best point and shoot camera from the quality of the pictures, as well as, the HD shooting in video. Absolutely love this camera! Even tho it was a referb. product looked as new.

My theory is that the best camera is the one you have with you. Although I have a 6D, I carry thee G7X daily and have taken more great shots with it than the "big camera", ofteh just because I have it in my pocket. The quality is super and having a small camera that shoots RAW is the best. This is one of the best cameras I've ever had (and that's a lot.

Canon could do a better job of explaining reasons for different features for newbies like me. That's my only complaint, love the camera.

Just picked this camera up yesterday after the price lowered a bit because the new one is out. Dedicated Canon only family because of their great quality products! Love this camera and the great pics it takes. Going to retire my 2nd Canon PowerShot from my purse and add this new one to my collection. I love the flip-up screen and all of the settings you can customize. Also the mic picks up audio very well. You will not be disappointed

lowepro bag is nice, needs a battery holder spot and maybe a zipper for credit card or lens cleaner to make it perfect.I have not figured all aspects of it yet need to read manuel more but you guys were excellent in sending and delivery was fast. the screen protecter did not work the paper was fried on it so could not peel to remove, to use it. but one in the kit, which you cut to size worked. thanks. pictures load fast, right from camera, which i really like and so far good.

Have had this and the G9x for over 1000 photos each. It is very hard with the 1 inch sensor in each of these cameras to tell the photos from a DSLR. The jpgs are fine but you can also shoot in raw and do post processing if you wish. Good Wifi features and the zoom on the G9x reaches most situations. Very good walking around camera due to its size.

This camera performed admirably in taking pictures of family including small kids who never stop. The camera focused fairly quickly and accurately on people. Very few missed pictures. The videos were good with good exposure and focusing. The touch screen is very nice for selecting focus especially during videos. My one complaint is that it tended to underexpose on indoor shots. I needed to increase exposure compensation by +2/3. Also, the battery life is fair. I got a second battery and glad I had it. The camera is built well and is holding up well. With the recent price reduction it is a better value

Awesome little camera especially if you want to leave your big gear at home. I just had a baby and this is just what I needed to get all his faces and memories without having my 5dmkiii on me. fast, crisp, clear, love the dial around the lens and the touch screen. Brokah is really impressive too.

The pictures are great quality for inside or outside, I rarely need or use the flash, no photoshopping necessary. I am in real estate as an appraiser and as an agent, I shoot lots of photographs and some video when I am appraising properties to refresh my memory. Most of the pictures wind up in my file and a few wind up in my reports or online for advertising purposes. The biggest problems with the camera are the position of the videro button and battery life. Due to the positioning of the video button, I constantly press the button and start video taping the properties as the camera is hanging from my neck strap, I have caught some interisting things on video and some great conversations but this eats up battery life pretty quickly. My next complaint is battery life, not only when I am shooting video and still pictures, but just still photos outside. On my best day I was able to get 349 outdoor pictures on the freshly charged original Canon battery that came with the camera. I always carry extra batteries in my pocket, but due to my shooting lots of pictures, I have two chargers in my office, two in my car and two at my home. I now have six chargers and I carry seven batteries that I take with me everyday I am shooting. Additionally, I carry a back up Canon camera with additional batteries. The wi-fi feature makes transferring pictures to my pc simple and fast. The software on my smartphone allows me to view what the camera sees, shoot remotely, adjust the zoom, control the flash and set the timer for shooting. Overall, great camera but I wish it had a way to use an auxiliary battery, and if the video button were recessed that would solve my problems.

Maybe I exaggerate. It has been a while since I owned a decent point and shoot having moved over to DSLRs. I bought the G7x as a lightweight alternative to my Nikon D90. Perhaps the only aspect that I did not find in the G7x was the hotshoe but if my goal was to take some serious indoor pictures, I would use the DSLR. I did some picture comparisons between the G7X and my D90 with various lenses and ISO settings. The noise reduction in the G7x was much better than in the D90 which to give it the benefit of the doubt is a 7 year old model. Even at 13200 ISO I could barely notice noise with the G7x. It also had much better White Balance, especially under compact fluorescent lighting which is all too common nowadays. I like that if you set up Exposure Bracketing, it takes 3 pictures in quick sequence, something I found very lacking in my Nikon. Maybe that is a Canon thing. I have not compared its video capabilities with a camcorder; especially around gathering sound. One minor quibble, you cannot interact with the picture that shows as instant replay after taking a shot - my older Canon G5 could. This is annoying, since you now have to press the play button to open the picture again, if you want to inspect it closely.

Beautifully saturated colors with a wonderful pallet...........when you take advantage of the settings available on the G7X. I have a minimal understanding of the endless adjustment options available on the G7X so I just followed suggestions from Ken Rockwell on how to set up the S120 in hopes it would work for the G7X. We have enjoyed the S120 pictures over the past year so much......with Ken's settings....... that it seemed worthwhile to try these setting on it's big brother, the G7X. Right out of the box, the G7X pictures are VERY nice. So much so that I was a bit reluctant to fiddle with the settings. But since I like our S120 pictures so much it seemed worthwhile trying. I am so glad I did. Such pull-you-into-the-picture-colors! Ken's suggestions, if I understand them correctly for the S120 are: Oi - Auto, ISO - Auto, AWB - scroll over to the CWB1 option and set it (using the ring around the lens to A4 which is somewhat warmer. VIVID, and finally underexpose by 2/3 of a stop. Vivid without modification is too intense for my taste, but when warmed up a bit with the Custom White Balance A4 setting is simply delightful. Ken may have developed optimized settings specifically for the G7X, but for now my understanding of what he suggests for the S120 works absolutes wonders.

I like the camera. My complaint about it is that the flash does not work as described in the manual. I can only get Auto and Off. I can't change the Off to On. The online manual indicates that an On setting is possible but does say how to make it happen.

I love everything about this but the flash. If it were adjustable that would be great but its your typical in your face flash that makes things look like "your typical camera" Other than that I love how user friendly all the dials are and how easy it is getting to them quick. The picture is clear and bright. I own the Canon 70D as well and side by side they are very close in detail. I will be using this camera alot. I wont have to lug a larger camera around with me all day anymore.

I'm an amateur photographer at best, let me put that out there first. I need a camera for 3 things: travel, concerts & selfies with my friends. But I want the pictures that I take to be spectacular! :) I've owned Canons all my life, but the G12 was my absolute favorite. It felt great in my hand, it was portable, had a flip screen, and just took fantastic pictures. So when a friend of mine dropped it on a marble hotel lobby floor, I was devastated. I did a little bit of research on Canon repairs and didn't like what I found, so I decided to try the G7. It definitely feels different in my hand & even a little awkward at first. The mode dial and the shutter button should switch positions....having the shutter button further away makes it harder to hold the camera in one hand. The flip screen was a must for me, but this one only flips up, leaving the screen exposed at all times (the G12 flipped up & over). Not a huge deal though. I purchased a really cool, sleek leather case to go with it, so it is still small enough to slide in my purse. My biggest negative with this camera, and honestly I have no idea what they were thinking when they designed it, is an exterior record/movie button. It is located right under the thumb rest/camera grip. I can't tell you how many accidental videos I have recorded in less than one month of owning this camera! On the upside though, it has tons of really cool features. Most are way above my pay grade for me to understand, but I'm learning. I just returned from a trip to Ireland and even in Auto mode have some of the richest, most vibrant pictures! I went into the trip thinking I would probably return the camera, but after seeing my pics I have decided to keep it. And as usual, Adorama was awesome to deal with!

I bought the G7-X as a travel camera because I expected a small and unobtrusive package that I could take with me anywhere and one that would deliver publishable photographs. I find that the camera, more than any other small camera I have used, focuses rapidly, shoots rapidly, and delivers high quality pictures. So far, I am very happy with the little camera. Jay W. Sharp

I've had this camera for a couple of weeks now, and I absolutely love it. The photos are very clear and detailed. I love the ability to shoot images with shallow depth of field. My low-light shots are impressive, too. I cannot say enough about how great the touch screen is. Seriously, why is this feature not on every camera these days? Touch to focus is so easy. The ability to flip the screen up to take a selfie is very much appreciated. Finally, video quality is also very good. The only things missing on this camera are daytime time-lapse (it can do night, why not day?) and an optical viewfinder.

I've had this camera for a little over 2 weeks and it is just like having a mini DSLR camera. I have many DSLR cameras and sometime it is not convenient to haul them around for a road trip. I decided to give this little guy a shot and am glad I did. This camera is packed with many functions as a DSLR. It is a bit bigger and heavier than the other Powershot "S" series cameras but the build and the picture quality is superb. The down side, it is a bit on the expensive side but overall I am very...

Canon PowerShot G7 X ICAG7X
Big sensor in a selfie-friendly small camera
The Canon PowerShot G7 X is the second generation of Canon's larger-sensor point-and-shoot line, featuring a new 1-inch 20.2MP CMOS sensor. Not only does the Canon PowerShot G7 X boast a big 1-inch sensor with a high ISO of 12,800 and 20MP resolution (up from its predecessor's 14MP), but Canon claims it has greatly improved AF acquisition speed to 0.14 seconds, which is almost instantaneous.
Canon has improved several key features over the previous generation Canon G1X. These include higher resolution (20 vs. 14MP), closer macro focus (2 inches vs. 7.9), maximum aperture (f/1.8-2.4 vs. f/2.8-5.8) and higher LCD monitor resolution (1020k vs. 922k).
Most likely the most obvious new feature is the LCD. The 3-inch touchscreen flips up and over the top of the camera, letting the user shoot selfies. These can be easily uploaded to photo sharing sites via on-board WiFi, which is both Mac and Android-friendly, and NFC technology, which lets you pair with compatible Android devices.
The lens has a 9-blade diaphragm for more rounded and natural-looking bokeh, and a sophisticated Image Stabilization with up to 8 IS modes available, depending on the nature of the camera motion. Video is available in full 1080/60p and is recorded in MP4 format.
Canon has sped up the camera, claiming to have removed buffer time for faster image transfers with less or no hesitation.
