I use these on all my Nikon D7000 cameras for 2 reasons 1) added battery capacity 2) extra weight allows me to handhold slower exposures longer without shake

Why Nikon did not include an option for a grip is beyond me. This works great, but plug gets in the way at times. Other than that works great.

Previously I had a much cheaper clone and replaced it. I am glad I did. The MB-D11 matches the camera better, is well made and works very well. A very nice product.

I made this purchase after reading as many reviews of after-market grips as I could find. The big complaint on the Nikon was price. There was one that was flawed, but returned for replacement. I like it well enough to buy another one. I have two D-7K's, and like the feel of it with the grip. It makes the camera feel more robust, the vertical hold is very comfortable, and the added weight is more than acceptable. It's a solid grip, fits like it was made to be on the camera, and will only be removed to charge the battery. I think it is well worth the price, and I question why anyone would buy a top camera and put a cheap, prone to fail accessory on it. Con: I bought a Black Rapid Extreme Strap. It gets in the way when using the grip, but that's not the fault of the grip.

I have owned the Nikon D7000 for over 3 years now. From my experience with this camera I find that it is a well designed camera with the exception of when powering the camera with the AC adapter. Any one who has purchased the EH-5b AC adapter and the required EP-5b cord, both sold separately, should know what I am discussing here. This is an incredibly flawed design for such a great camera. Nikon followed this flawed design with the MB-D11 battery grip. Nikon could have put a power cord connector on the exterior of the battery grip. With this in mind one could have powered the camera and charged both batteries (1 in Camera, 1 in grip) at the same time. As it stands now I have to at least remove the battery in the grip to install the EP-5b. Nikon could have easily corrected this in the design of the grip. Incredibly Nikon continues with this flawed design in the newer D7100 and the D800(E). With this in mind I will reluctantly recommend the MB-D11 for the extra battery life and for better grip of the camera.

Just got my MB-D11 and it's transformed my camera. The added battery life is a clear bonus but apart from the more comfortable portrait shooting mode, it stabilizes heavy lenses such as Nikon 105mm f2.8 Micro VR (750 grams = 28 oz) and Tokina 11 - 16mm f2.8 (547 grams = 19 oz) and makes hand holding either in landscape or portrait mode a lot more stable. I understand that there some off brand grips being sold at a fraction of the price but everything I read and reviewed shouted out to me "BUYER BEWARE"

I bought this to use for shooting my children's soccer games. I shoot mostly in Portrait so it helps a lot when holding that position for most of the game. I'm also able to change settings faster because of the dials on the grip. I'm using this with a mono pod and a below average 500mm Zoom Sigma Lens. It balances nicely with the weight of the grip added to my D7000. Being able to grip the camera better also allows me to adjust the zoom more precisely when following moving players.

This was my first used product purchase from Adorama and my first dSLR grip. What a difference the grip makes in the camera's handling! Adorama said the grip was in great condition, and the item was exactly as described.

Love it, peace of mind for a long days shooting, having the 2nd battery already attached to the camera. The added controls are a bonus. It does add noticeable weight but well worth it in my book.

Despite the size and added weight the Nikon MB-D11 adds a feeeling of stability and a confortable grip. Being able to use the regular battery plus the AA batteries takes the worry out of those long sessions. The unit attaches to the camera easily and the setup through the menu is a snap. I highly recommend this unit to any D7000 user who wants more backup power in an easy to use product.

I bought the grip not for more battery power, but mainly because I have large hands and it makes a huge difference to the comfort of using the D7000. I would note that the grip is built like a tank, inspires confidence and now that I have used it for a while, I also find the vertical AEL, Command dials and shutter release to be very helpful....My only complaint is that it is made in China - this item costs 3 times the price of non OEM products...it is certainly worth it in build quality but at this price point, should be built elsewhere. If you can afford it, buy this and not the aftermarket knock-offs...they dont compare

I bought the Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack to extend the life of my Nikon D7000 while on extended photo shoots or travelling. The product arrived in an original Nikon box with associated packaging, Nikon MB-D11 cover, warranty and instruction manual. This is a must have accessory for the serious photographer using the Nikon D7000. Firstly, the Nikon MB-D11 is well constructed and all that you would come to expect of Nikon quality. The Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack arrived dry, meaning that you have to provide an additional Nikon EN EL15, or Runs on six R6/AA-size alkaline/Ni-MH/lithium batteries. There is a lot of talk about the battery release being poorly constructed or fragile. I have found that it is pretty solid and although not super industrial, it works fine and as long as you treat it right, it serves its purpose. The Nikon MB-D11 grip feels nice and solid, matches the camera and when it is connected, does not look like a two piece unit. After installing my spare Nikon EN EL15 battery into the MB-D11, I removed the isolating strips from the base of the camera, placed the MB-D11 on the locating pin and wound the tightening screw to secure the unit to the camera. I have no problems with movement and it feels solid against the camera. A no fuss installation. Generally, what is there to say about the MB-D11? I love that I have an extended battery life being able to carry two EN EL15 batteries on a shoot, I don't find the extra weight a burden. The extra time you have shooting far outweighs the weight issue. I love the solid Nikon construction and quality of the MB-D11. Since I have had the Nikon MB-D11, it has not come off my camera, apart from having to recharge the battery. If you don't have an original Nikon MB-D11 for your Nikon D7000 and you want the extra power, get one, you won't be disappointed. Lastly, a little word of advice. Buy an original Nikon MB-D11 from a reputable dealer! There are many aftermarket versions out there that just aren't the same quality.

I have big hands, and with the MB-D11 the D7000 is a perfect fit. The additional battery (plus being able to use AA's!) is a nice bonus.

This is a great addition to my Nikon D7000. I haven't had to use the extra battery power yet, but have found it quite useful when I turn my camera on its side. The controls are easy to use and well placed. I was worried about the extra weight, but really don't notice it because the ergonomics make it so much easier to hold the camera.

No complaints at all. The grip does exactly what it is supposed to do. It adds some significant size to the camera. Size along with the added shutter release and wheels make shooting portrait orientation a lot easier.

so far this seems like a great addition to my camera. I was surprised when I recieved the unit that there was no battery included.I was pretty much under the impression that I was ordering a battery grip and that it would have a battery. No where did I see that you need to spend another $60.00 for a battery. not a big deal but that is what I experience.

After looking at several 3rd-party grips and reading reviews, I decided to stay with Nikon. So far, works great and is a major asset for vertical shooting.

This is a fantastic grip! Rock solid, matches the D7000 completely! Its much better than the aftermarket counterparts. Worth every penny. If you are looking for a grip and are on a budget be patient and save up for this grip. the aftermarket grips just don't cut it.

Wanted the batterygrip for my D7000 and contemplated the cheaper aftermarket versions, but finally decided on the Nikon version. Same construction as camera nd rugged and weather sealed, glad I got it and I enjoy using it.

Since I bought my D7000 in 2012 I really needed a vertical grip. I researched all the Nikon cheap copies out there and many (if not all) did not support a full function of all the buttons. I ended up waiting on eBay for a little bit less than normal price and I finally got one back in Nov 2012. The grip is heavy with it's internal metal case but it is such a pleasure to use in the vertical mode. The metal case also is more security when on a tripod- I'm not sure I trust those cheap plastic copies as much). I'm glad it's easily on/off too because I use an old Nikon 500mm lens where I cannot put the lens on/off with the grip on due to the tripod collar hitting the grip. The thumb selector is a bit odd and pointy but functions fine (they could make it more like the MultiSelector on the Main Body for easier "feel" transitions). I use the battery tray to hold 6 AA batteries, though more as storage for backup batteries for my SB-700 flash (4-AA) than actually use them for the D7000 camera. Great grip. It adds alot of girth and weight but if you take alot of verticals you would wonder what you did without one.

The Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Grip for the D7000 is a quality product from top to bottom and a conceptual extension of the camera for which it's designed. Like the D7000, it has a core structure of light, strong magnesium alloy, molded plastic details and comprehensive weather sealing. When mounted to the camera body, the ergonomics of the whole fall into place. Handling is comfortable, natural and well balanced using either the vertical or horizontal grip. When cost is not a consideration, adding this accessory should be a no-brainer. For me, the cost was enough of an object to give the Meike knock-off a shot. While that alternative is not bad and is certainly far more affordable, the savings come at a cost. Rigidity, overall finish and, most importantly, the weather sealing are all distincly inferior to the Nikon. In the end, I paid the extra for the OEM product and let the savings gained by ordering from Adorama pay for the Meike experiment.

Excited to have this flexibility. Bought the battery pack for vertical use and extended battery power for our major safari vacation. I have taken a few photos but now it is dead, no matter what battery I put in it. Really disappointing for a Nikon branded product. Of course, since I bought it on line from Nikon, no store that I can go to will care.

The battery pack is heavy. But I love the feel of the grip with the camera. I like the idea of being able to take pictures when the camera is on its side. With the 2nd battery, I do not have to worry about running out of power for many shoots.

Great addition

The smaller size of the D7000 was a bit of a disadvantage for me, but with the addition of the MB-D11 to the body, it makes it feel much better in the hands. With the increased weight, you can steady the camera even more. Pair it with the VR lenses for an increase of a good 2-3 stops of shutter speed. Well worth the investment. For the price, it would be nice if it came with the battery, or at least offer a package deal with a bit of a discount. I've used MD's and MB's on all of my Nikons s...
