I use it with GH2 body as one-size-fits-all traveling lens and it serves its purpose: lightweight, reasonably fast, versatile. I compared it with two other lenses: 12-35/f2.8 and 100-300/f4-5.6. As expected, AF it is a bit slower and picture is a bit fuzzier than for the first one (for both 14 and 35 mm zoom) but quality is the same as for the second one for zoom= 140mm. Besides, as with any other lenses, it is practically impossible to use it for video due to noticeable AF hunt.

The lens is a bit heavy but makes it feel solid too. Manual zoom so no noise. I've gotten very sharp photos. Color seems accurate too.

This lens is a superzoom with a focal length comparable to 28-280mm on a full size sensor. As such there is a tradeoff; weight and larger minimal aperatures vs convenience. The 14-140 is designed to be used on cameras capable of functioning very well at ISOs from 1600-6400 depending on the model its mounted on. This along with image stabilization makes it useful in many settings. It's great as an everyday lens. Teamed with a fast prime it is marvelous for travel. Indoors it works very well by itself at the higher ISOs and even better with flash. Video, you don't hear the motor when it focuses but the large aperature gets in the way unless you have extra lighting. That's where the fast prime would come in. That prime is also useful where no flash is allowed. From my understanding pros who are into mirrorless use this lens for their videos but they use extra lighting as well. Weight? It weighs about one pound. A superzoom of this range and construction from a major manufacturer on an APC or full sensor camera will weigh anywhere from 2.5 to almost 4 pounds. The images it helps to produce? On an electrical device (computer, smartphone, tablet) almost flawless. Printed, some grain at 16x20. If you're looking for pro quality, constant aperature speed and ease be prepared to spend $2500 for two lenses that together don't cover the focal length that this one does. If you're not ready to do that then really think about this one.

is meant for photo not video, (i use it on panasonic af100) so it is kind of dark, and jerky to zoom, and the fact that has to extend is a bummer, sad part is supossed the best for my camera. hope panasonic makes some lenses meant for it.

This is my carry around lens . I have a 1.7 25 for low light and a 45 macro for close-up. All these can be carried in a small bag.

Got this to go along with my brand new Panasonic GX1 body. Yeah it's a bit on the slow side (gets above f5 by the time you get to 50mm), but as long as you're in good light this lens cannot be beaten in the general-purpose category. Plus, pair it with a Panasonic body and distortion & chromatic aberrations are automatically corrected in-camera even for RAW output. Expensive but a winner!

The Olympus E-P1 is a bit of a hybrid. It’s not a point and shoot camera, although it looks like one. It isn’t an SLR but takes interchangeable lenses.
The Panasonic DMC-GH3 is an outstanding camera that will give you years of pleasure and a ton of creative choices. Here are some products I recommend to expand the camera's usefulness, based on typical photographer/videographer needs

The Panasonic Lumix Vario 14-140mm/F4.0-5.8 Aspherical Lens supports the continuous AF/AE function of the contrast AF system for both photos and movies. In addition, thanks to an inner focus direct-drive linear motor, this lens enables smooth, silent operation of its fast and accurate focusing. When recording still pictures, this lens also supports an AF Tracking, a Face Recognition function and more, for more convenient, more enjoyable shooting.
The lens system uses 4 aspherical lenses and 2 ED lenses to achieve dramatic downsizing despite its a wide and long zoom range of 14-140mm (35mm film camera equivalent: 28-280mm), while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration. This lens suits a large variety of shooting situations, from scenery to portraits or telephoto shots, in a surprisingly compact and lightweight body.
The lens incorporates Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which makes it easy to shoot clear shots even in telephoto range or in dimly lit places without using a tripod by suppressing the blur commonly caused by a hand shake.
7 diaphragm blades of circular aperture diaphragm give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings in both photos and movies. It also features a highly reliable metal mount and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and flare to further enhance its optical performance. *For the DMC-GH1 only.
The Micro Four Thirds System standard made it possible to achieve its compact size and light weight body. Despite its extremely compact size and superb optical performance, this lens brings out the full capabilities of the 4/3-type image sensor, achieves smoother Live View in superb combination with camera's body and allows a variety of unique features such as the contrast AF function of the DMC-GH1 and DMC-G1.
