This thing is perfect for my Sony A7iii. It's beefy, robust, but still manageable. I love the fact that it is easy to get into a low mode by holding the trigger and that the back of the screen is not blocked by a motor like some other gimbals.

This thing wowed me right out of the box. Super easy to set up especially when compared to counter-weighted glidecams; I love how it inverts for low shots. My favorite thing about it is the focus wheel which only needed a female USB C to male USB Mini (B-3) adapter to work with my Canon 5D Mark III running Magic Lantern. I think it also works on stock firmware 1.3.5 as well if you don't want to fiddle around with that.

This is an extremely well made and well designed gimbal. Take the time to learn how to tweak it properly and you’ll be off and running in no time. Practice makes perfect! However, once balanced, this unit works pretty darn well right out of the box. Do note however that this thing is heavy! I have a 24-70/2.8 which I want to use on it, and although the gimbal can handle it, the whole package is indeed weighty. It’s got me thinking about picking up an f/4 just to ease the weight. Anyhow, it works great, and I’d buy it again.

The DJI Ronin-S is a great tool for on-the-go steady shots. It packs up and transports easily and provides great stability even with heavy lenses. It can get a bit heavy holding it for long periods of time, since it does not have any sort of body harness, and it can be tricky to find a comfortable "resting" position without putting it down on the ground. But overall, it's a great product that provides smooth shooting without massive rigs.

This is my first gimbal for full-size DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. I never thought that I would buy one as I do more still shooting than video. I am impressed with how easy it is to use. I was fortunate to try it out at WPPI and was immediately sold. It also helped that Adorama had a killer special on the Ronin-S at the time. I have only used the Ronin-S a couple of times but already have realized just how good it is. Balancing the camera gets easier with each use. Using the Follow mode is a tricky and time-consuming balancing act with a cell phone mounted on top of the camera. The app makes setup and operation easy, especially with the latest firmware update that adds creative modes that are necessary. I also found that the Focus Knob is fully functional with my 5DM4 which is especially nice to use with the 4K monitor. I also added the Switch Grip Dual Handles and the monitor mount. The handles are fully adjustable in width and can be mounted above or below the rails. There are three NATO Rail mounting locations on the collar for a single handle, both handles plus a monitor, or any combination. The only negative is that the monitor bracket is too short. Fortunately, my monitor came with its own bracket that when added to the Ronin bracket makes it just right. Now, I am happy that I did buy it!

This is a pretty large and complex machine. Being new to gimbals I am a little overwhelmed but thankfully there's a lot on youtube about setting it up and connecting it to a camera.

A little laggy with panasonic gh5s/ sigma. When you're making dramatic moves it has to over correct, so you have to start slowing down your pans ahead to make up for the lack of power in the motor. Still a great gimbal, but would recommend something with more power if using a heavier camera/lens setup.

Nice gimbal...heavy but made well. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stabilize a larger camera. Nice features although I am waiting on future updates for full functionality with my Nikons.

This is an absolute upgrade from handheld footage! The product is easy to use once balanced and set up. I really like the free app that it works with for wireless controlling and for presets and special features. Great product at a great price. I highly recommend checking compatibility with your camera before purchasing.

I just got my DJI Ronin-S about a week ago, so I haven't had the time to give it a full test, but so far I love it! I plan on using it with my Canon 5DMIV, but I was busy with that camera so I attached my Canon 5DMIII just to check out the balancing, weight, and overall responsiveness and so far I am very impressed! It is a little heavy with a 5DMIII on it, but not so heavy that it is an issue. The one complaint that I do have is that it included all the cables except the one for the 5DMIII, so I had to buy an adaptor. I am very anxious to try it with my 5DMIV, which is much better for video than the 5DMIII. Something else to consider is that, even when connected (5DMIV) with the proper cable, apparently the focus wheel on the Ronin-S is not compatible with Canon cameras (yet), so it's important that the camera has autofocus (which the 5DMIV has). From watching a few product reviews on YouTube I learned that at this point the focus wheel on the Ronin-S only works with Panasonic cameras, but integration with Canon (and others) is on the horizon (hopefully). I am really excited to have purchased this and am looking forward to producing very high quality video with it!

It’s my fiirat time ever using a gimbal and I it was easy to learn. The only thing that was difficult was putting it together and balancing it. The instructions was a little hard to understand. But other than that I’m super excited to use it all the time!
