These mics are pretty fantastic. Used in a loud wedding environment and the sound isolation was pretty sweet. Could hear the conversations happening in camera which weren't heard in real time.

As soon as you plug the V-Mic D3 into a 3.5mm microphone jack of a device its microprocessor shakes hands with the device. This means no more adapter cables.
Swappable AAA Battery
The V-Mic D3 uses a single AAA for power. It also features a one button on/off switch. When turned on the microphone is ready in Stand-By-Mode and automatically goes into Run-Mode when the camera or device turns on. This also allows you to save battery on your microphone when you turn your camera off.
(150 Hr Battery Life @ 900mAh NiMH AAA / 12 Hrs) x 4 = 50 Shoot-Days
You can shoot for 50 weeks before you'd have to recharge you 4pc of AAA batteries again. That is nearly a year's worth of weddings on one charge. And remember NiMH batteries can be recharged 500 times.
