It doesn't get much better. I'm rather shocked at the value for money of this, I will be ordering another one. Having two is sweet because you can use one for bounce and another for diffusion or negative fill. This is great for small productions and photoshoots with no grip or gaffer, but you're used to bigger light modifiers. This wouldn't last on a grip truck getting daily use on productions, but for a DP or photographer's personal kit, it's incredible! I use it for shooting cars in direct sunlight and on lifestyle shoots outside where I don't have a crew to carry huge styro bounce boards. This thing slings over my shoulder and I build it on sight. I absolutely love it.

Very happy with this product. For the most part it's good build quality. The joints on the frame are not quite as beefy as I'd like and the mounting knuckle is the same. I'd purchase it again because I take very good care of my equipment but this would not survive a Hollywood movie production. I'd recommend this for others like me that have a limited budget and tend to baby their gear.

Good price for what's included. The frame is sturdy and relatively easy to assemble, however, the included fabric covering is a couple of inches too short and only stays in place with the help of gaffers tape! I was disappointed by this but had to use the setup immediately for a shoot so couldn't return it.

This a great, cost effective solution for on location and studio needs. The frame is sturdy and the fabrics are good quality. I'll agree with other reviewers and say the fabrics are a very tight squeeze and take some work to get on and off. Same with the transport bag. It takes some patience to get everything in. Even with that, I'd 100% buy it again.

This product was easy to construct, folds up and puts away in a compact fashion. What I dont like about it is that the clamp that mounts to light stand does not tighten around the baby pin, therefore it spins on the pin. Also, the scrim fabric that came with this shipment was too small for the frame. Don't know if the wrong one was sent but it does not fit.

this is a review of the 39" x 62" version of the sun scrim kit. I bought this as I have several of the larger versions of this which I thought was one of the best bangs for the bucks out there. This one not so much. First of all, even though it is smaller it is considerably heavier than the larger one, It has a locking mechanism on the hinges which the larger one doesn't have, but the larger one is actually locks firmer. On the larger one the diffuser attaches via elastic straps in the corners and works great. This one has velcro fasteners all around and is MUCH more difficult to put together and take apart. Where the larger ones are easy to take on location, I doubt I would take this out of the studio because of what a pain it is to put together and take apart. I really was close to returning it, but I guess I will find use for it around the studio, but I would recommend the larger one over this. Be aware however that on the larger one the included reflector panes, unlike the scrim attach via velcro, and they are the wrong size and do not fit the frame. I was able to make a few frames out of pvc pipe, and so I have the scrim and 2 reflectors....another complaint about the big kit that would be an easy fix is that with the 2 reflectors they put the they but black and silver on one panel and white and gold on the other, when it would have been MUCH more practical to have black and white on one and silver and gold on the other. I would still highly recommend the big kit but not this one.

This reflector kit is a mixed bag. The frame is exceptional, as is is the diffuser. The frame opens easily, is very well built and incredibly light weight but strong. The diffuser has elastic bands to wrap around the corners. There are ties that you can put through grommets, which would probably be a good idea if you are going to use this outside, but inside you could live without. Also there is a bar that attaches mid way across to attach to stand, but you don't really need the cross bar if you are concerned about shadows, because the frame is that good. and there are other easy tricks to attach it to a stand if you don't want to use the mid bar. But the weak link in this is the reflector, which includes black white gold and silver in a 4 in 1 piece that is reversible to get to the different sides. Unlike the diffuser, which just slips on with elastic corner straps, this you have to slide over the frame. You are NOT going to have a good time doing this, nor is it something you get done in a flash. It is a royal pain. The elastic side bands are tight, so pulling it over the frame, and especially around the corner hinges is a chore. Then once you get it on, you will find that the elastic strip at the bottom won't meet because it is manufactured too short. I got two of them with same problem on both. Been waiting a few weeks to hear back from Adorama and guessing they will eventually will come up with a fix, but they should not be putting these out, with something that clearly does not work properly. To make matters worse is the way they designed this 4 in one slip over reflector is the worst possible configfiguration. Ideally you would have black on one side and white on the other, as those are the two most used functions. If for some reason you were not going to do that then you would have white on one side and silver on the other, as those two are sometimes a toss up to what you are going to use. The worst possible combination would be white and gold, and black and silver, but that is exactly what they chose to do. Especially how difficult it is to take this thing off and put it back on it doesn't seem like anybody really thought this through. So if it did not include the reflector the frame and diffuser on its own is a great value. The diffuser has just about the best light I've others that I've used, very nice. But it does include the reflector and so it is a big disappointment that this is not only delivered not working properly, but its fundamental design is off, and its way too difficult to take off and on for any practical work. It seems that you are meant to choose one configuration, and then leave it that way. So 5 stars for the diffuser and frame, 1 star for the multi-panel reflector..... and that is how I came up with a 3.

Last year I had taken a chance on buying one of these from the Adorama used department and it arrived with one of the hinges of the frame snapped. There were no new units in stock so I just returned it and put it on hold. They finally got back in stock and I ordered a new one. The new one arrived and it was in good shape, but having seen one damaged I don't have any real trust in its durability. But it's lightweight and sets up so much faster than a scrim jim. I docked one star for the durability and another for the tie-down ribbons for the scrim that is beyond cheap and lazy. I immediately replaced them with small bungee cords. Overall it's pretty good for the price.

Perfect for my needs. Light and easily packable. The handle?s got some weight but the frame and fabric are great for what I need. I find myself using it more than I expected. The price point has value. I wouldn?t use it in heavy wind but I typically don?t shoot under those conditions anyway.

I like it! It's full size and versatile. Best used if you have a few assistants working with you or very sturdy stands. I didn't get any assembly instructions but its not that hard to put together. A little guidance on best practices to get the reflector on the frame would have been nice. The reflector is so tight (perhaps to small) to even think about trying to velcro once you get it framed up. It would be nice to have some hardware that gives you the flexibility to mount it at varying angles on a stand or at least provide some guidance with the kit. Don't get me wrong, it's nice but it could be great too.

I like it, easy set up nice bag to carry it in. I would give it a 5 star but the small attachment piece that goes from the support bar to the stand and the hex key have no pocket in the bag and I feel can be easily lost. it would be great if the bag was just a bit bigger and you wouldn't have to take that piece off.

This is a great light-weight addition to my gear. It was originally bought as a backup but now is my go-to because it's faster and easier to set up that my Sunbounce gear. It's not as robust as SB (so I mostly use it indoors) and the silk is not quite as high quality, but it does what it's supposed to and makes up for it in ease of use. Excellent value for the price.

I bought two if them From Amazon for multiple applications, as a reflector and negative fill instead of v flats and as a diffuser mainly, they are sturdy and very easy to assemble and put together , the diffuser is a little bit different than the image and practically it is better, it has 4 rubber bands sewn to the 4 corners and when you stretch it on the frame it flattens nice to the degree you may not need to add the bands to support the edges to the frame through the rings on the diffuser edges, The clips that hold the bar has a very nice feature That I am using differently, I am using the small opening on the side to attach it to a baby pin, and using the clips on the short ends of the frame smack in the middle so the baby pins will work as an axis that will allow me to rotate the scrim after I attache the baby pins to the c stand (one on each side) I find it a very convenient way rather than using the middle bar since it may cast shadow on the subject when shooting the flash through it, all in all very nice unit and definitely it is worth the money...!!! "BABY PIN IS NOT INCLUDED but will cost you about 6 $"

Easy to assemble and unexpectedly sturdy. Great size and portability. I’m able to easily transport this and setup. The handle helps my assistants hold this easier, especially if there is a breeze. I shoot mostly outdoors. The quality fo the light from the white reflector is great too.

I like this product because how sturdy it is and it come with 3 different type of reflectors, 1 side for negative fill and 1 diffusion. I brought another of this product so I can make a book light and other possiblity usage setup.

Instead of always trying to "add more light" to a scene, how about cutting the harshness and adding very little light? Hmm...yeah. This scrim does that. It was so windy where I was using it, I HAD to have an assistant hold over models head for me. Downside? Not as large as I would prefer. But, not manufacturer's fault... they described it and I chose to by it. Easy set up and break down. Larger one is HUGE and costs almost ($). Will I get one...eventually? Absolutely! Can I wield it on my on during a shoot? Uh..." No!!", so, must choose calm day and a strong C-stand to hold one, but, these are awesome to help u set exposure for environment surrounding subject and then exposing for model with an added reflector or strobe IF needed!

I saved $ buying this kit instead of the Photoflex light reach kit. It works great and is heavy duty. This is definitely a game changer for portraits during mid day.
