I purchased this 680B to replace a missing 680 that I've owned for probably 15 years. It works great and has the same level of quality, with better ergonomics on the height adjustment levers. I have since found my lost monopod, so now I have a spare and am able to compare them side-by-side. The build quality has not diminished in the intervening years.

Sturdy enough to use as a walking stick. I use a Manfrotto tripod. I am a retired hobbyist and the Manfrotto less expensive line of products gives me excellent and durable tools at an affordable price.

Well made. Very sturdy and easy to adjust. It's not exactly heavy, but I'd want something lighter if I were going on a long hike.

It is sturdy, and a little heavy, but stable. I was replacing a lighter Manfrotto monopod that had a leg clip break after around 10 years of use. I chose a sturdier monopod this time, since I now have longer, heavier lenses and a heavier camera. It worked well with no slippage, and allowed me to photograph football games from the sidelines, moving with the action. I would recommend this for anyone who needs heavier duty support.

I'm using the monopod with a 3pod H3 ball head. The combination (& the component elements) work very well. The action on the ball head is as smooth as warm butter. I"ve been using it with a Canon 5Diii & a standard zoom lens. As I said above, it's GREAT. However, the combination ( 2 lb 10 oz) is far too heavy & too big for my requirements. Additionally, the folded length of the monopod is too long to fit in all but my largest case (a Slinger ). I'm planning to get a shorter (when folded) & much lighter monopod

My first 680B withstood 6 years of abuse serving me well on the job supporting a 600mm. When it came time for a new monopod my decision came easy. Buy another just like it. Just odered another Manfrotto 680B from Adorama that included free shipping.

This is a very solid and sturdy monopod without being overly heavy. I have used it with my D810 and Sigma 150-600 lens and it made all the difference in the world. I purchased this at great price and it will get quite a lit of use from now on and into the foreseeable future.

I had been looking for an upgraded monopod and settle on this one when it was aggressively priced on sale at Adorama (one of my favorite stores). I've been using it as both a walking stick and a monopod. I've got a Vanguard tripod (also aggressively priced at Adorama) with the ball head quick release and I was able to find a Vanguard SBH-30 ball head quick release to attach to the 680B. It's a great combination and enables me to leave my attachments on my camera, my Tamron 150-600 monster lens, and my video camera. I can quickly switch between any device to either the tripod or the monopod. It's a great setup, unfortanetly Vanguard is discontinuing the SBH-30 and I found one of the last ones available. In summary, a great monopod for my needs and can support that monster Tamron lense with no problem.

This is just what I needed. I also own a Manfrotto Tripod but there are times when it just is not feasible to use. While out taking nature photographs is one of those time. This monopod with a Manfrotto 496 ballhead weight in just a little over 2 pounds. That is a lot lighter then the tripod I was using. Once I learned how to hold and angle the monopod I was study enough to take some photographs. I became part of the monopod as I became the two additional legs like a tripod. With a little more practice I will be getting rock solid photographs. This is a great sturdy product. Being that it is a closeout for anyone who wants one had better hurry and order it. At these low prices and with the Manfrotto name they will probably go fast. I'm glad I did.

I brought this with me on a trip to the Outer Banks and found it to be a perfect addition to my gear. Perfect for when you just need that extra bit of stability for shots from a moving vessel. Not intrusive like a tripod in a group function such as Dolphin Watching. This tripod is well built, very sturdy, and easily used. The locks functioned perfectly and never slipped out of position. The only drawback is it's weight, just a little heavy, but not overbearing. I paired this with a Manfrotto tilt head and the two perform wonderful.

I have a Manfrotto tripod so when this monopod/head combo went on sale for $ I snapped it up. The monopod is sturdy and well built. The strap is cloth and strong too. The monopod is heavier than I'd prefer but the weight is not unacceptable. If you want a well made, no frills, inexpensive monopod, then this one is a good choice.

Great monopod but the Bogen tilt head which came with it leaves much to be desired. A 234RC tilt head may be a better fit.

When I was in a hurry to get a shot set up, it was awkward. It is very sturdy and smoothly clicked out. For my wrist, it was rather heavy. But if you are reasonably strong, I think you won't be disappointed. And for me, I will get the shorter version because I've been caught paying less for flimsy gear - and this is good quality actually.

Nice monopod, sturdy and compact, a little on the heavy side for hiking but would double as a tool to defend yourself if you need to!

I needed a compact monopod that would be beefy enough to hold a 7D with battery grip and long lens. This thing is built like a tank. I added a pivot head so I can flip quickly to portrait orientation. I've only started to use it, but can tell in a short amount of time that this was a great purchase. Highly recommended.

I purchased the Manfrotto 680B for a quick and easy Mono, something that can be easily raised and lowered while shooting sports and events. I find the Manfrotto 680B very useful for this purpose! The legs expand and contract quickly and easily and the mount is very sturdy holding a D4 and 70-200VRii. The only issue is the lower leg sometimes requires a little push to deploy, but not an issue for me.

This seems to be a well made and solid monopod. Easy to use and transport. I use it with a Canon 100-400L and it gives plenty of support.

I use my monopod mostly for action photography to steady my heavy lens, Manfrotto(Bogen) has always been a quality tool for the avid photographer as a steady hand while on the move. The only problem I encountered was the stud in the middle was too tight to remove so that I could use the 1/4-20 threads to attach my swivil head, other than that, its great to work with...

P.S. Get the swivel attachment too. This will enhance the stability of your photos, but it still takes some practice to maintain a reference point for your line of sight panorama shots.

Amazingly sturdy and very easy to use. I am always adjusting the height of my camera in rough terrain for birding and this is extremely accomodating to those needs.

I bought this monopod to use with my Canon 7d and various lenses when I travel. This monopod being a 4 piece unit is compact and fits into my luggage easily. It is very sturdy and easy to open. I use it in place of a tripod because it weigh less and easier to handle when traveling.

In researching for a monopod, my criteria included... •folds down to a size which will fit into a 20" rollerboard suitcase, •load specs to comfortably support a Canon 50D and various L-series lenses, •ease of use, •rugged construction to provide reasonable durability with normal everyday use, •availability of accessory items to enhance usage options (eg: swivel tilt heads), & •solid manufacturer's reputation. The Manfrotto 680B Compact 4-Section Monopod, Black Anodized (#3249B) has met & exceeded all of my criteria. I bought this unit along with a Manfrotto swivel tilt head. Together, they provide any horizontal or vertical perspective I encounter. I am more than pleased with this purchase. And as always, Adorama provides timely shipping even cross-country from NY to CA.

Coupled with the Quick Release Bogen Tilt head, it is the perfect accessory. Steady shots with the Canon 70-200mm & 24-70mm.
