I used to use a cable release on film cameras, now this extension cable gives me the ability to make tack sharp landscaptes

I use this with my Nikon D80 whenever I use my tripod. It is probably one of the cheapest but most necessary items for anyone wanting to take sharp macro or close-up photos. In many ways it is more functional than the Nikon IR release that I have as you never have to worry about the time you take composing a picture. However, you cannot be very far away from the camera when using it, and you also can't easily get into the picture.

Though well used when I received it, this release has not given me any problems. It holds up well.

This remote has been reliable and convenient to use. I have two of these. Dependable. Just remember that if you slide your thumb it will catch (for long exposures.

This is another fine nikon product. I really like the ease of operating the hold button for those super long exposures at night. If this remote is for your camera you will not be disappointed with it.

A simple device but it does its job. Releases the shutter without vibration. lock button enables strings of shots or perhaps bulb shots if they were so long you wanted to go away and come back..

All cameras that can use a remote release should have one attatched when it is used on a tripod. This one works very well and is reliable and hardy. Since it has a 'bulb' function it is even more useful!

I love this release cord for my D-80, I use it for alot of shots, not only for micro. The length gives you alot of movability, especially if you're taking a self portrait. I make sure its in my bag when I'am out & about shooting. Its a good insurance against camera shakes.

Great for long exposure shots, or when you want to stand away and study people before the shot.

Anytime I use my tripod, I pull out my remote release. Cord is 1m long, which is good enough unless you plan on being in the picture. Build quality is great, and I would buy it again.

Works perfectly. Great for ensuring you don't move the camera even slightly when you press the shutter.

It isn't always practical to use but whenever you can you should. It is most useful for stop motion animation but it works well for most any shot. A must have for any studio photographer.

Works as good as one could hope: eliminates camera shake, can focus from remote button, doesn't frighten birds while shooting.

I have taken many photos using my tripod, but because my tripod is a cheap one, this remote is a must, especially when using slower shutter speeds.

I bought this as a compliment to the IR remote. The IR remote is nice when you want to put yourself in the shot as in a family picture. This is nice because it allows same the half-way down focus operation as the shutter button on the D80.

We bought this to use with our two Nikon D80's for our trip to Costa Rica last month. It quickly became an indespensible tool for taking pictures on top of the two volcanos we visited and the butterfly garden. Operated flawlessly on both camera's.

Great product-switch to any longer exposure in appropriate mode, hold down or hold and slide. Took some great christmas light shots with this on a 10 second exposure with no distortion. [...]

I use this product anytime I have the camera on the tripod. It makes it that much less likely to move. Great for landscapes and night photography. Allows you to use a slow shutter speed without moving the camera because of your hand on the camera. Also works great for bracketing.

Is definately a must in certain situations. I feel it has far more benefits and is easier to use than the remote triggers.

Very nice item. Only drawback is that it is easy to accidentally lock on, but not really a big deal.

Enables remote firing of D80. Useful for releasing shutter remotely to reduce camera shake. Shutter can also be locked in Long Time Exposure (Bulb).
