I had some problems with my first purchase of the FX30 but the second one works great and I love it. Wonderful image quality, easy to learn menus and solid build quality with great design. Thank you with respect!

A lovely handy camera, great to use for wedding photography & video as I do for a living. Very disappointing however that after spending such a lot of money on a good camera, there is not even a strap in the box. Sadly I am now using my FX 30 with a canon strap that I used from an older camera which I no longer use.

I have just bought this camera and am totally delighted with it. With it's discreet size, I can take this camera to places where a bigger one would not be permitted. It is brodcast quality. I am a TV & Film Cameraman with 50 years experience in the industry, including 3 years in Hollywood, where I shot one of the first Feature Films to be digitally originated

I bought this camera in June 2024, besides certain "issues" with the noise at lower light, it's a awesome camera, hands down and the image quality is excellent.

I bought this because I wanted a reliable camera for weddings and events. It has surpassed my expectations, there's some stuff I have to relearn and things I will miss with my old camera by switching to the FX30, but it's worthy trade off. I highly recommend this to other professionals.

I ordered this in preparation for a last-minute corporate gig, and Adorama was able to deliver the camera within 2 days reliably. Your shipping department deserves congratulations. Also, I purchased the FX 30 KIT version because the extras are quite useful. I actually used the GREEN battery in my corporate gig; it held up quite well in relation to the original Sony battery.

This is my first Sony camera, and I expected to start with an inexpensive full frame. So I love the fact it shares the same body as the FX3 (with fan, lots of custom buttons, solid), and shares the menu with all the options to record. But what Sony did with this model is copy the FX9 recording: a 4K image (including DCI 4096!) using the whole 6K sensor and oversampling resolution and color. So instead of a $3800 12MP camera, you have an $1800 26MP camera, with a 1.55x crop. Embrace the long lens, OR enjoy choices like the Sony 16-55 f2.8: a 24-85mm full-frame effective lens at about a pound! Autofocus and stabilization as expected, I feel there's no better choice to step into the Sony world than this. Lastly, 90% video, shooting indie films, coming from the GH5 and Blackmagic Pocket cameras. Bought here at Adorama, with a Ninja V to record the 4.6K raw it exports, so pleased.

I bought this as the obvious choice?not as a run and gun,as a cinema camera, meaning I control the environment 100% lights shadows etc?first day testing it out as a newbie I was offered a job.(100% true) filming the U.S Open in California.

Incredible how much they have packed into this camera ! I'm extremely pleased with the value in this body and the handle I purchased with it as a kit had been extremely worth it. For context I am an audio professional ( mix engineer ). I have a home studio and I wated to bring high quality visuals and content to my brand and this has been the perfect tool.

To be honest it performs way better than I expected for this price point! Yea it has some draw backs. But what do you really expect under $2k?

I have been using the FX30 for more than a year, and It is an excellent camera, mostly used for documentaries and interviews, easy workflow (If your computer handles log files), easy to color grade, no regrets at all!

A massive problem with the firmware update, no battery info. It shows up on the app so clearly a bug. Also why no shutter angle? This is a Bcam for my FX6 these things are 101.

I am very satisfied with this camera that delivers excellent image results, 10 bits, and 4k 60fps - exactly what I was looking for. The value of this camera is much higher than the price. And the FX30 has great features that help with professional video production.

As a long time BMPCC 4K user, I love the continuous automatic focus feature of this camera with image quality quite similar to BMPCC 4K.

This is the best camera for video, I'd say "on a budget" but that doesn't even do it justice. Sure it's great on the wallet, but it is actually a cinematic masterpiece. 10/10 recommend!

The Sony FX30 was designed for creators ready to experience true cinema performance without the price tag of full-frame cameras. The 26.1 megapixel sensor blends professional video features like 4K/120p recording with a compact and lightweight body that can be used cage-free. In-camera 5-axis image stabilization gives creators the flexibility to capture stable footage even when shooting handheld, and numerous picture control options, including S-Cinetone, S-Log3, and other creative looks, can be used to give creators the choice between retaining maximum quality and flexibility in post processing or give them the ability to produce footage that minimizes the need for editing.

Sony’s FX30 features a 26.1-megapixel back-illuminated crop sensor designed specifically for this camera. This sensor offers impressive performance with 4K/120 recording and Dual Base ISO. The sensor was designed to bridge the large gap between pro-level cine cameras and entry-level video cameras. While not Netflix-approved like the FX3, the FX30 offers creators an excellent value that can still fit into any professional production. Despite being a crop sensor camera, the Sony FX30 is incredibly capable and can produce excellent footage for creators of all types.

A 495-point phase-detection autofocus system that covers 90% of the image sensor ensures tack-sharp focus on your subject at all times. Real-time tracking and eye autofocus for both humans and animals can easily be customized for every scene. The included Focus Map feature also helps creators visualize which region of their image is in focus, making it perfect for novice and expert videographers alike.

The FX30 is both lightweight and compact, making it an excellent choice for a b-roll camera for a studio or a main camera for the solo creator. The body is very similarly designed to the FX30's big brother, the FX3, meaning you can use many of the same accessories without any modifications.

When you need to create smooth imagery without the use of a gimbal, the FX30 comes equipped with 5-axis image stabilization. Active Mode is also available, blending multiple in-camera features to create smooth footage, especially when combined with image stabilization.

Numerous in-camera options are available for users of all types to create the perfect footage straight out of the camera. S-Log3 and HLG are ideal for filmmakers who want to retain the highest quality and details for post-processing. S-Cinetone uses the same color science as Sony’s most advanced cinema cameras and can offer smooth transitions between highlights, softer colors, and natural tones throughout the scene. For those who want to capture share-ready footage straight out of the camera, Creative Looks can be applied before recording to produce a specific look without post-processing.

Typically, beginner-friendly cameras lack pro features, but the FX30 is an exception. Three shooting modes help even novice shooters get the best footage possible from the camera. First, Flexible ISO uses standard ISO settings, which can help the videographer focus on the scene, rather than their settings. Cine EI captures recordings at a base ISO setting of your choosing, then applies adjustments for monitoring and post-production. Cine EI Quick automatically switches between two base ISO settings for fast adjustments in rapidly changing lighting conditions. These operation modes are all optional, but beginner filmmakers will find them invaluable for ensuring properly exposed footage without years of experience and expertise.
