Be very careful about the diameter of your lens. Although the specifications were right for the lens, the shade was too small. Although they allowed me to return it, they didn't cover the return shipping charges.

Need to be careful with wide angle settings. Could give a little vignetting.

This lens hood performs well and keeps flair at a minimum. The hood locked into place well and stayed put. Would recommend for any user as a hood is a must when shooting.

The original hood was broken when I knocked the camera off a table to the floor. It saved the lens & camera body by absorbing the shock, Which is why no on has ever seen me without a lens hood mounted. This was a replacement.

It would be nice if all the lens manufacturers would get together and come up with a standard lenshood process, but I know it ain't gonna happen. I purchased a Tamorn lens on Ebay that came without a hood. The generic will generally work OK when in hood mode but generally do not allow you to turn them around and store them on the lens. I have limited space in my camera bag so I really want to store the hood on the lens. This Tamron hood works exactly with the Tamron lens. In hood mode and storage mode. Exactly what I wanted. It is very solid and does not fall off even when jostled. Love it.

Buying a hood from Sony for their SEL18200 is nearly impossible and very expensive. This fits perfectly

I cracked my Tamron lenshood a few months ago and was looking to replace it. This lenshood was too small for my 17-50mm f/2.8 Di-II lens. Do not let customer service talk you into this if your lens takes a 72mm filter! My original hood had AB003 on it, this is not the replacement. (of course Tamron's Mfr# does not match AB003) Eventually Tamron got back to me and you need Mfr# RHAFB003.

works great to keep the lens flare down but have to figure a better way of attaching / storage. mine broke in half after 2 weeks of using it. i usualy put them backwards over my lens when stored and this one did not make it. i have a canon lens with a hood that has lasted about 4 years now.

This is a lens hood! You screw it on and use it - that's about all there is to say. Either it works or it doesn't. This one works. For the price it's fantastic.

This Dedicated lens hoods is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.
This Tamron Lens Hoods is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens and also offers the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact on the glass as well, since the end of the lens is extended.
Compatible with SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 Lens.
