Great lens, very wide. It's also a somewhat small lens which has some advantages. Keep in mind this is an entirely manual lens with no autofocus.

Great for landscape, street and architectural photography. Due to the extreme depth of field, the lack of autofocus and image stabilization is not an issue at all. The small size and amazing build quality of this lens are also huge advantages compared to alternatives. Definitely a very unique lens in my collection that allows me to take photos I couldn't take before.

These are some early thoughts on my recently purchased Voigtlander Heliar Hyper Wide 10mm lens on my A7RII. The all-metal construction and controls of the lens reminds me of the feel of a quality pre-digital lens. It is obviously fell made and should be a sturdy lens. Aperture selection and focussing is smooth. Turning the focus ring automatically engages the camera's magnified focussing mode, although the lens has such a wide DOF I think that I'll be using the hyperfocal markings on the lens barrel more often than not. The field of view of this lens is amazing! You will need to be careful not to get bits of yourself into images. I have only taken a handful of test images at this stage but was happy with the results. I did notice some chromatic aberration when shooting into the sun, however, this was easily removed in Lightroom. As would be expected there is some distortion and softness towards the edges. Lightroom does not yet have a lens profile for this lens, but imagine it will show up in an update soon. I think this will be a fun lens to use and will allow me to capture images with a very different perspective. I am not disappointed with my purchase of the Voigtlander Heliar Hyper Wide 10mm lens.

Voigtlander E-mount lenses are designed for use on E-mount camera body. The lenses cover the full frame format. They are manually controlled lenses so the user sets focus and aperture - the built-in CPU will transmit the information to the camera body to give the user Exif-data and depending on the specification of the camera Auto-lens-correction, 5 axis-Image Stabilization as well as Manual-Focus Assist. Aperture is in 1/3 stop increments. The Voigtlander E-mount lenses are also equipped with Selective Aperture Control System for use with video recording functions.
