This sight is worth every penny. Not only is it a value sight but Vortex has a one of the best warranties offered by anyone. I have had my Venom mounted on a Beretta M9A4 for over 2 years and it's still as good as the day I bought it. I zeroed it once and it hits my aim points as accurately as I can aim the gun. You cannot go wrong with this red dot!!!

I've had this optic on my G40 for a few years. It has handled all 10mm ammo from low power target ammo to Buffalo Bore 220gr hardcast heavy outdoorsman. The only issue i had was actually my fault and cosmetic. I used my leatherman screwdriver bit on the battery cover at the range. I didn't have the correct tool and the battery was dead. I emailed customer service and they are shipping me one out free of charge. I would have gladly paid. I'd say customer service is just as good if not better than the product they sell. I'll definitely be buying more vortex optics for the rest of my arsenal.

I have had one on a heavy recoiling 12 gauge shooting 3. 5" loads for years. It holds a zero and takes abuse so well I now own 3.

I purchased a Venom Vortex Red Dot a year ago and recently had an issue with it. Vortex Optics quickly responded, offered a free repair, and upon finding the unit faulty, replaced it with a new Vortex Defender. Their professionalism and prompt communication were outstanding. I'm highly impressed by their service and reliability.

I have 5 of these on my handguns and never had an issue with them. I love and trust them on my firearm, I always recommend vortex at the gun store I work at.

I just bought my second Vortex Venom for my Ruger Mark 4. I put the first one on my Glock 34 target gun. It's right on target and has been no problem at all. I thought it might be knock off sight slamming back and forth on the slide so much. I shoot 300 rounds at a time. It hasn't budged a single micron in several years. What a quality red dot. I have contacted Vortex over the years for different advice and they are the friendliest most responsive people I have dealt with. I highly recommend any Vortex products for gun enthusiasts needs.

I wanted to express my utmost satisfaction with the exceptional customer service I received regarding my Vortex Venom Red Dot optic. From the beginning, my experience with your product has been flawless. When I first acquired the red dot, I reached out to your customer service team for assistance. They promptly provided me with the blueprint of the red dot, allowing me to customize and machine my slide myself, given my background as a mechanical engineer. Over the years, the red dot performed flawlessly until an unfortunate incident occurred - my girlfriend accidentally dropped it on our tiled kitchen floor, resulting in the lens being completely destroyed. Despite the unexpected mishap, the standout moment was the outstanding support I received from Kate Frost and the entire Vortex team. Not only did they cover all shipping expenses to and from their facility, but the turnaround time for the repair was an impressive four days. What amazed me most was their willingness to assist without asking for a purchase receipt or any documentation. Their primary focus was on fixing the issue promptly and getting me back on track. While I'm unsure of the warranty program specifics for this optic, the stellar customer service I experienced surpasses any policy details. To my delight, they even went above and beyond by fixing the glass on my Venom Red Dot for free. I am genuinely impressed and satisfied with the level of service provided, and without a doubt, I will be a loyal customer, sourcing all my future optics from your esteemed company. Thank you for setting a standard of excellence in customer care.

Few years back I bought a 3MOA sight for a Ruger 57. It was gonna ne my everyday carry gun. (One that got beat around in a tractor truck holstered or not.) The sight has been hit against things that I thought for sure broke it. Shot it and was still holding zero even after a good hit. Very robust and tough. So tough I have since then bought 2 more waiting to go on riffles. Coming from a Leo optics fan 10 out of 10 recommend.

As a Run & Gun competitor my gear is put to through some serious tests. A recent event had us in over our heads with a pond crossing. Both of my Vortex optics (Venom and Strike Eagle) took the swim in stride and operated flawlessly. As a RO for the event I saw numerous other optics fail miserably. My one complaint with the Venom is that the hashes on the rear of the optic don't co-witness with a standard glock front sight.

I bought a Kimber Stainless LW in .45 ACP with a Venom red dot on it (it was a special one year). After about a year the sight would not power up. Thought the battery went flat, so, I installed a new one. Same thing. Thinking it was a bad battery, I bought a new battery, same result. I called Vortex, they sent me a prepaid shipping label. I sent the venom back. Within a week I had a brand new venom! That impressed so much I bought a Diamondback 3x9x40 tactical scope for a new rifle I bought, didn't even look at another brand. I'm very happy with it. I then bought a pair of Diamondback binoculars. Couldn't be happier with them! It's good to know that Vortex backs their products so well. It gives me confidence in the brand.

I have this Vortex Venom, setup was extremely easy. Optic holds zero extremely well. It is on my Gen 5 Glock 19 which I wear all day, everyday working in all types of environments from the dirt and the mud, to getting in and out of the truck. I had a problem when the optic got submerged in water, Vortex amazing VIP service shipped out a new one same day I called them because it is on my EDC pistol, and they didn't want me to do without. They are good optics with great customer service.

I recently mounted the venom on a Glock 19 MOS and the screws popped out after 2 rounds. I reached out on the website asking if the sell replacement screws that would be slightly longer and forgot I submitted a message. Within 4 days I get a package from vortex with new screws, a couple of stickers and a lens cloth. I have never had a good experience with customer service until now and it is refreshing to see a company doing a little extra to keep their customers happy. Will definitely keep purchasing from Vortex knowing if anything does happen to go wrong with the product I will be helped out and taken care of.

The vortex venom has dismal battery life. Around 150 hours at brightest setting which is what you will need when using in daylight. That is garbage and many competitors offers are much better. In addition, check your dot because it stands a 50/50 chance of needing a shim to get to zero as these optics tend to shoot high. I bought 8 of them and now only use them on rifles as a 45 degree back up sight. I wish I had never bought this dot.

How can Vortex NOT get this right? As much as I like Vortex products and warranty, this DOES NOT bode well for the company to do nothing about this. More pressure will simply result in damaged threads. It is very difficult to apply pressure with a blade driver and ensure the cap is being pressed on straight. Vortex, give this to a mechanical and they will tell you in 10 seconds, "you have a problem". Don't take my word or the other 100s that have reported this issue. I removed the flat seal from the cap. Without battery, identify where the cap threads engage the housing. Insert battery in housing and install cap. Align cap based on previous cap alignment findings and rotate clockwise. Good to go! Vortex please resolve this simple issue.

I decided to get a Red Dot sight for my XDM, reviewed many options and was down to Holosun, Hex and Vortex. The Vortex reputation with optics and the lifetime guarantee was the criteria that sold me . Installation after receiving an OSP plate from Springfield made install easy and smooth. I used a chamber/barrel laser to zero it in and then took it to the range. Wow, first pull at 15 yrds bullseye. There after a very tight pattern. Easy to pick up the red dot when getting ready to shoot. Love its quality and ease of use. Highly recommend this for your pistol.

After reading tons of reviews on the internet, I decided to purchase this product from Palmetto State Armory. I was a bit concerned b/c of the negative comments about the battery cover. I saw a video on Youtube where someone was doing an unboxing. He went to the range to demonstrate the effectiveness of the venom. As he was shooting, the battery cover and battery flew off the red dot. That was sooo embarrassing. I felt that it was an isolated incident, so I decided to give vortex a chance. After I installed the venom on my H&K P30L, I found that the battery cover was difficult to install. I used my screwdriver with a handle to give me better grip to screw on the battery cover. I thought everything was find, as the battery cover was finally screwed on. Once I got to the range disaster struck. After 2 shots at my target, the battery cover and the battery flew off the venom. I reinstalled the battery and cover. Again, the cover and battery flew off. What a disappointing range day!!! When I got home I called the 1 800 number for service, of course, they were CLOSED on the weekend. Couple of things: 1. When you buy a product, you expect it to work without any issues. Yes, I know that things happen beyond the manufacturer's control. And yes, vortex has a great warranty but, I did not expect to use the warranty 24hrs after I purchased their product. 2. I hope this is not a case of, "You get what you pay for" 3. Customer service - If you're going to stand behind your product, what's wrong with offering customer service for a few hours on the weekend. That can only enhance your customer service. I really want to like this product. I will attempt to get this issue resolved and I'll keep you posted.

Have had this on my Masada for three years and love it. One sad evening I knocked my IWI off the counter, landed right on the hood and really put the whammy on the sight, broken glass and sight out to lunch. Called CS @ Vortex, they even sent me a return label, all free of charge, and A NEW VENOM!! Simply cannort be beat.

I love it the only thing is I did drop it once and it landed on the top of my slide locally I had the cover on but when I took it off there?s a small dent on the arc over the glass but nothing else seems to be wrong is that OK?

On par with other vortex products. If you have any issues vortex has the best warranty out there. They?ve been my go to for optics for a while now.

The top battery is great. Simple durable optic that mounts easily and stays in adjustment. The 3 MOA dot works good up close and is refined enough to make good hits at distance.

Mounted to my turkey gun and as many have said the battery is ridiculous. If you take off the oring on the cap it will go in. I haven?t taken it out yet but I don?t see one dot but many bunched together. My eyes? Not sure. Definitely don?t see it being worth what I paid for it which is a disappointment since I love my many vortex scopes and binos.

I shot this site a few times and it feels amazing and holds zero. That being said I am a mechanic used to fighting pesky screws and nuts, but this battery cap was impossible to install with the bushing in the cap. I was really scared to push harder and strip it out. After looking at reviews I removed the washer on the cap and it threaded right on and never had any issues with battery contact.

Bought this for my Browning Buckmark .22 and didn?t realize I?d need a shim to make it work. Spent 20 minutes of my range time and more than enough ammo chasing it not sighting in. Left the range with it still shooting at least 10? low and the elevation maxed out. Called customer service and was told this is a ?common issue? and I needed to spend $12 on a shim. Sure, it?s only $12, but I spent plenty on a red dot that doesn?t work out of the box like I expected. Thanks, Vortex.

I bought this and used it on my AR15 until I upgraded, now I was looking to mount on my glock 19...is there a mounting plate that I need for the glock or just remove the Weaver mount?

The battery cover is impossible to get on. I called and they told me to put more pressure on it. Didn't work. I is an obvious flaw in manufacturing since many others have had the same issue. I will just return and buy from a different mfg. The response from me calling verifies they know but don't care.

Like many others have said, the battery cover closes correctly when there is no battery in the battery compartment, but inserting the CR1632 battery caused the battery cover to not properly engage the threads. I tried the "trick" of pressing down on the battery tabs and then using a reverse rotation on the battery cover, but it still does not work. Obviously the rubber, gasket inside the battery cap is too thick and needs to be spec'ed out with a thinner gasket to allow the cap to close properly.

I just received this Venom from Cabela?s. I noticed it has a paint defect. Looks like it was touched up with a permanent marker. Should of been sold with a blemish discount. Not $250.

Bought this primarily for a pistol, looking at my Sig 226 mk25 but when I realized that would need slide work, I put it on my FNX-45 tactical instead. Took about a minute. My old eyes love it. Better groupings at all distances. Watching that dot wiggle around has also helped me focus on grip. Excellent quality workmanship, lives up to the Vortex reputation.

I bought the 3 MOA Venom for my Glock model 40 MOS about two years ago and it has more than served its purpose. Everything from quick acquisition on steel trees to hunting. Love everything about it
Venom Red Dot - 3 MOA Dot
Make your AR, pistol, or shotgun even more poisonous with the Venom Red Dot sight. A 3 MOA dot promotes rapid target acquisition, while providing a precise point of aim-getting shots down range and on target fast.
The durable, machined aluminum housing ensures the unit will stand up to whatever you throw at it. High-quality, fully multi-coated lens offers a clean, wide field of view. The top-load system makes changing the CR 1632 battery a snap and alleviates the need to remove the sight when switching the power source. The power and dot intensity controls are conveniently located on the left side of the unit. Flush 1 MOA windage and elevation adjustments are super sleek and make sighting in a breeze.
The Venom comes with a Picatinny mount-weighs 1.6oz with mount.
