I, like pretty much everybody else, immediately mount a UV filter on each lens I buy. Neutral Density filters are in my opinion much more useful for digital cameras than they were for film cameras. Circular polarizing filters are where you get into art a bit. They are primarily use for landscape photography to reduce reflections and surface glare. However, this is not always desirable. That is where art comes in. Regardless, Vivitar has been making reliable filters for decades, and there is nothing particularly fancy about UV filters, fixed ND filters, or circular polarizing filters. Thus, I believe that this is a good basic filter selection to accompany an initial purchase of a 59mm OD lens especially for a Canon M50 Mk ii such as mine.

Very nice quality! Used it outside twice so far and it really tunes down the colors on a sunny day which give the photos and videos a better look!

Wouldn't say it is the best kit but great for beginners.

Great budget pack of filters. My only disappointment was that the ND wasn’t as dark as I was hoping - but that’s on me, not the product!

The three filters seem to be of high quality and they come in a nice padded velcro carrying case/wallet. It's a useful starter kit with a very affordable price.

Keep the UV on all the time except when using other filters of course. Was having fun the other day with the CPL changing the blue of the sky rotating it. Haven't tried the ND yet. Good price would highly recommend.

This is a good budget option for some reasonable quality filters. Will watch how scratch resistant they are, but on first glance they do everything I could want.

The Vivitar 3-Piece UV/CPL/ND8 49mm Filter Kit is manufactured from high-quality solid optical materials. Each individual filter is heat-treated and multi-coated to avoid any rare movement or distortion. The Vivitar's Ultra Violet filters minimize the bluish cast sometimes found under daylight conditions. These filters will render your photos clearer, sharper and with more contrast.
They are also the best available protection against accidental damage to the front element of your lens. If you accidentally drop your lens, you will be protected against nicks and scratches. As a lens protector, it should be left on at all times.
The CPL filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. Vivitar's circular polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot and they will provide protection for your lens while shooting. Vivitar filters are perfect for digital SLR cameras or traditional 35mm SLR applications.
The Neutral Density filter reduces intensity of all wavelengths or colors of light equally, giving no changes in hue or color rendition. The purpose of standard photographic neutral density filters is to allow the photographer greater flexibility to change the aperture, exposure time and/or blur of subject in different situations and atmospheric conditions.
Instead of reducing the aperture to limit light, the photographer can add a ND filter and can then set the shutter speed according to the particular motion desired and the aperture set as needed.
