Vivitar, even after the many changes around this old time brand name, still markets quality machinery. The filters are optically correct, nicely finished, packaged for easy carry. Excellent value.

I dropped one of my lenses, fortunately I had one of these UV filters on it and that took the brunt of the fall. The filter shattered but the lens itself was perfectly fine. All I had to do was order more of these for a little bit of cheap insurance! :)

I was looking for a UV filter and found this kit. It covers the three basics and was a great deal overall. I couldn't have bought all three for the price.

Great value for the $. Not the highest quality, but they all worked and looked terrific. Can't believe they were this inexpensive.

I bought these for my newly purchased Tamron 18-400 lens. I took some photos without the filter, then tried again with UV filter. I noticed no distortion or loss of sharpness, even at full zoom and extensive cropping. I haven't tried the other two filters but assume they are of comparable quality. They are doing what I needed at a bargain price. I've always had good luck with Vivitar filters.

The UV and ND filters use a thin mounting ring. That's a great feature, which I was not expecting in this price range. The ND filter is an ND8, with three glorious stops reduction in light. I don't known why I expected a 1-stop or 2-stop filter, but the ND8 is a lot more practical. I didn't observe any ghosts, flares or chromatic aberrations with any of the filters in the set. I also didn't put them in extreme contrast or light conditions. The carry pouch is not at all crummy. It's thickly padded, and yet it's not bulky. It's small enough that most camera bags will have some extra room for it. My only complaint is that the pockets are fishnet, not fully covered. This set gives you a lot of bang for very little buck. I got a lot more quality than I expected. I like it, and I think it's a good purchase.

Received this kit in a Nikon D610 bundle, I use the UV filter exclusively and it works great.

Maybe not of the quality of the more expensive filters, but if taken care of should last for quite sometime. Good quality starter filters. Vivitar has been around for a long time.

Always keep on your lens for cheap insurance

The Vivitar 3-Piece 72mm UV/CPL/ND Filter Kit is manufactured from high-quality solid optical materials. Each individual filter is heat-treated and multi-coated to avoid any rare movement or distortion. The Ultra Violet filters minimize the bluish cast sometimes found under daylight conditions. These filters will render your photos clearer, sharper and with more contrast. They are also the best available protection against accidental damage to the front element of your lens. If you accidentally drop your lens, you will be protected against nicks and scratches. As a lens protector, it should be left on at all times.
The CPL filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. Vivitar's circular polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot and they will provide protection for your lens while shooting. Vivitar filters are perfect for digital SLR cameras or traditional 35mm SLR applications.
The Neutral Density filter reduces intensity of all wavelengths or colors of light equally, giving no changes in hue or color rendition. The purpose of standard photographic neutral density filters is to allow the photographer greater flexibility to change the aperture, exposure time and/or blur of subject in different situations and atmospheric conditions. Instead of reducing the aperture to limit light, the photographer can add a ND filter and can then set the shutter speed according to the particular motion desired and the aperture set as needed.
