Tried these side beside with others and they were head and shoulders above them.You shoulda been there,even the sales staff came out to see what was playing and couldnt beleive it was the dxr8.The harder we pushed them the better they sounded.I was impressed! Fantastic speakers!
I recently picked up 2 DXR10's (for floor wedges)... love them... am using EV ZXA-1 subs... wanting to go 'lighter'- picked up 2 DXR8's for FOH. These are fantastic! Plenty of depth & volume... very clear. Have used (with subs) for 300 person venue (4-vocals, 2-guitars, bass & drums)- all running theu PA- plenty volume!!
The Yamaha DXR8 8" 1100W 2-Way Active Loudspeaker provides clear audio and high output levels in a compact and durable design, ideal for live sound applications. The cabinet has a rugged ABS construction with a bass-reflex design for enhanced bass performance with reduced turbulence. The 8" woofer and 1.4" compression tweeter offer high-resolution audio with a wide frequency response. The crossover uses a FIR-x linear phase filter to optimize driver performance.
The speaker has a biamplified design that provides a combined peak output power of 1100W for a strong performance with minimal distortion. A D-contour processor allows you to use the speaker as a main/FOH speaker or as a stage monitor. The rear panel has XLR, 1/4" and RCA inputs, as well as XLR thru and output connectors for wide compatibility with a variety of professional sound systems and devices.
The speaker can be placed on a floor or stage, but also has useful mounting options. A standard 35mm pole socket allows you to mount the speaker on top of a subwoofer, while M8 fly points allow suspended installation. An optional U-bracket is available separately for wall mounting.
