The price of 4K broadcast video capture and production has gone down, thanks to a new group of products just released by Blackmagic Design. The new line revolves around a 4K video camera with a 2/3-inch sensor for HD/UHD URSA Broadcast. The range of accompanying products includes new 4K ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio switchers, Camera Control Panels, and new Camera Fiber Converters.
URSA Broadcast
The URSA Broadcast is an advanced Ultra HD broadcast camera that works with your existing HD or Ultra HD B4 lenses so you can shoot HD today and switch to Ultra HD when you’re ready! You get professional broadcast controls, built in ND filters, non stop 12-bit recording of ProRes and DNx les to dual SD UHS-IIor CFast cards, and new extended video range for stunning broadcast-ready shots that can go straight to air. URSA Broadcast does double duty: You can use it for production work, or add a Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder to turn it into a live studio camera with remote control and built in color corrector!

Camera Fiber Converter
The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter lets you extend and power your URSA Broadcast from up to two kilometers away using industry standard SMPTE fiber cables. It also includes common live camera controls with multiple channels of talkback and standard television industry talkback headset connections. The Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter features one Ultra HD camera feed, plus three HD return feeds in a compact IP video based design.
Studio Fiber Converter System
The Studio Fiber Converter System lets you operate remote cameras up to two kilometers away from your studio or outside broadcast truck using SMPTE fiber. The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter converts SDI video, audio, and remote camera control connections into a single optical fiber cable, which connects to a Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converter attached to a remote camera.
All video and data are transmitted using standard IP for extremely low latency broadcast quality video. You get 12G-SDI for an HD or Ultra HD camera feed and 3 independent HD return feeds, along with standard connections for camera control, PTZ, two dual channel talkback intercoms, tracker talkback, tally and a five-inch LCD screen for monitoring camera and return feeds. The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter also provides power for your remote cameras and accessories.
ATEM Camera Control Panel
The ATEM Camera Control Panel provides independent controls for up to four URSA Mini, URSA Broadcast, Blackmagic Studio, and Micro Studio cameras from a single control panel. You get iris control, shutter speed, white balance, master gain, pedestal, RGB controls for white and black, and more.
ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Stuido 4K Switcher
Said to be one of the world’s most compact and advanced switchers, the new ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K is a high-performance live production switcher designed to work with the latest formats and high frame rates, all the way up to Ultra HD 2160p59.94. You get 16 next-generation ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers with four per M/E, perfect for advanced work and virtual sets. As the most advanced ATEM switcher, this model also includes the latest technology and features such as two Ultra HD multi viewers, full 2D DVE, built in SuperSource compositing engine with 4 picture in picture DVE’s, full re-synchronization on each 12G-SDI input.

ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel
The new ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel is an elegantly-designed professional hardware control panel for all ATEM switchers. It combines modern design with the latest broadcast technology for faster workflows. The new design features a built in LCD and curved buttons that help reduce incorrect key presses. The buttons also have color backlighting to help you quickly recognize important keys.
The unit also has a professional joystick for DVE and camera adjustments, smooth weighted t-bar fader and much more. The buttons feature dynamic displays that allow full customization of the labels as well as custom colors. The shift buttons allow you to double up the number of inputs by selecting a second set of shifted source buttons so you can control up to 20 inputs.
