Canon is expanding its powerful digital cinema line with today’s release of the brand new EOS C300 Mark III and the CINE-SERVO 25-250 T2.95 lens. The company announced both new additions, growing its offerings in the cinema and broadcasting space. Here’s everything you need to know.
Canon EOS C300 Mark III:
The Canon EOS C300 Mark III digital cinema camera comes loaded with the brand new Canon Super 35mm Dual Gain Output (DGO) sensor, bringing more than 16 stops of dynamic range. The DIGIC DV 7 Image Processor further delivers internal RAW recording for high-resolution image data processing, all in a modular, customizable unit.

The latest cinema camera from Canon also boasts ultra-high frame rates up to 120fps in 4K, and 2K crop in 180p. Canon Log 2 and Log 3 Gamma are also supported, and workflows give much higher dynamic range and enhanced highlights and shadows. The DIGIC DV7 image processor also allows for recording Cinema RAW Light directly onto CFexpress cards, further expanding recording efficiency.
The EOS C300 Mark III also includes the 2.76-million dot LM-V2 4.3” LCD Monitor for easy viewing and touchscreen interface control for camera settings. The camera also supports up to four channels of audio recording through the camera’s internal mic, the mini mic port, and additional XLR ports.
Filmmakers can add and apply their own custom LUTs, simultaneously record 2K proxy files, and operate remotely thanks to the LANC compatibility and RC-V100 support.
The user interchangeable lens mount allows for using your individual lens of choice. The camera comes with an EF mount that can be swapped with others for additional customizability. Anamorphic lenses — both 2.0 and 1.33 types — are also supported and allow for truly gorgeous cinematic shots.

Alongside the EOS C300 Mark III, Canon has also announced the new CINE-SERVO 25-250 T2.95, a compact and lightweight — and 4K ready — lens.

With support for the Super35mm large-format cameras, the CINE-SERVO 25-250 T2.95 lens includes a high optical resolution, an 11-blade aperture diaphragm for stunning bokeh, and does it all in a light 6.7-pound body.
With a focal range of 25-250mm (which can be expanded up to 375mm when using the 1.5x optical extender) and a 10-times zoom magnification, it also has powerful options for filmmakers, as well as broadcasters. The lens comes with full external servo control for broadcast productions and a 180-degree rotating focus ring for easy and smooth control. The entire unit is compatible with standard cinema lens controllers, and the drive unit can be removed to allow for manual cinema-style operation.
The entire body is highly durable and is weather- and shock-proof to withstand the most rugged on-location needs.
