Picture and Audio Quality

The Panasonic X1500 and X2000 offer professional video recording at 4K/60p and slow motion recording at 120fps in FHD. If users drop down to 4K/30p, they can achieve 4:2:2 10-bit recording for exceptional color detail. On the audio side, the camcorders include a 2-channel XLR input that can accommodate +48V phantom power, microphone input, or line input. 16-bit AAC and AVCHD high-quality audio formats are available.

Zoom and Image Stabilization

To further improve picture quality, the X1500 and X2000 use 5-axis electronic image stabilization to smooth out any blurs and shakes. The image stabilization is especially effective when using the 24x optical zoom. The optical zoom reaches from 25mm wide angle all the way through to 600mm telephoto. With Panasonic’s i.ZOOM technology, users can hit 32x at 4K resolution and 48x at FHD. The X1500 and X2000 have high-speed, high-precision auto focus and face detection, so images should remain sharp and well-lit even at far distances.

Both camcorders use a Leica Dicomar Lens that brings excellent resolution and contrast while suppressing ghosts and flaring. ND filters ranging from 1/4, 1/16, 1/64, and Clear can be added to adjust lighting and exposure. Two manual rings designed in different sizes are used, one for adjusting focus and the other to alter focus or the iris.

Wireless Streaming

Panasonic caters to user’s streaming needs with built-in WiFi on both the X1500 and X2000. Without a separate LAN module or wired connection, users can directly stream content on Facebook, Youtube, and others. Both cameras have double SD card slots with relay recording to capture lengthy events such as sports events, music shows, conferences, etc. The X2000 offers a 3G-SDI output for external recording while the X1500 does not. Another notable difference between the two models is the handle unit. The X2000 comes equipped with the handle, while it’s an optional accessory for the X1500. The detachable handle comes with an LED light and an XLR input.
