First introduced at the 2019 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), Manfrotto has now unveiled its brand new — and extremely small, light, portable, and effortless — carbon fiber Nanopole lighting stand and Nano Plus stand, further expanding the options for creatives’ lighting support.
Manfrotto Carbon Nanopole Stand ():

The new Carbon Nanopole Stand is the most lightweight Nano Stand Manfrotto has ever created. It’s ideal for those creatives who want a lighter gear load as they travel on their next adventure.
The Nanopole stand weighs in at only 1.65 pounds (or 750 grams). Also, it is made from a carbon fiber column, and includes an aluminum base. It can handle equipment up to 3.3 pounds (or 1.5 kilograms)! Therefore, it’s an ideal stand for lightweight lighting gear like speedlights or LED lights. You can even detach the column and use it as a boom for creating the perfect lighting scenario.

In total, the stand can reach a maximum height of up to 77.6 inches (197 cm), and folds down into just 20 inches, which means it’s compatible with carry-on luggage restrictions. Additional attachments include a stainless steel spigot that measures 16mm (5/8″) with a 3/8″ thread, as well as a 1/4″ thread adapter that’s detachable. A built-in leveling leg ensures that the entire unit remains stable on the ground, even when you’re working with tricky conditions.
The Manfrotto Carbon Nanopole Stand is available for preorder now for at Adorama.
Manfrotto Nano Plus Stand ()

Alongside the Carbon Nanopole Stand, Manfrotto has also released the new — and the company’s strongest — Nano Stand ever. The new Nano Plus Stand is ideal for those working in the studio or on location and need a lighting support that’ll deliver.

The increased payload of this new Nanopole Lighting Stand — it can now hold up to 8.8 pounds — means it can support flash or LED lights with ease. The entire unit folds down to 20 inches, and can easily be transported with your entire kit. Like the Carbon Nanopole Stand, it includes a leveling led to keep the entire structure stable, has a 16mm (5/8″) spigot, a 3/8″ thread, and a removable 1/4″ thread adapter, and reaches up to 6.46 feet (197cm).
