"It gets the job done" And it does, sometimes...

Have used this lens for Aviation photography for almost 2 years now, i understand this is a starter lens, usually on a starter camera, (T7) but this lens definitely has some problems. Zooming past 150-200 mm cooks the sharpness, but after mastering the lens, it can be a manageable loose cannon, getting sharper images after figuring out camera settings and prime focal lengths. Going from this lens to the EF 100-400, is a whole different experience. The 75-300 is a decent starter lens and i won't discredit it, it has got me some of my best photos, (somehow) but in conclusion, there are definitely better lenses out there. Cheers.

The worst autofocus lens ever manufactured

The only canon product i've ever been disappointed with. I've owned this lens for about 12 years now, it's about as sharp as a balloon. Soft focus galore on every single shot. When I sold my T3 (which this lens came with) I refused to sell this lens to the buyer, as this lens almost made me quit photography. I was convinced I didnt know what I was doing, however, when I purchased an L series lens suddenly my results became useable. I was able to definitively determine that this lens was the cause of my poorly focused images.

Great gift for a camera beginner

I got this as a gift from my Grandpa and I love it so far. Given me some really great shots, a little less zoom than I need for a lot of my shots but that's not Canon's fault.

Great experience

Lens was exactly as described and fit the canon camera I search for. Shipping was very reasonable and it was an overall great experience. I will think of adorama first for any future photography purchases.

EF-75-300mm Lens review

Great lens! I've gotten closeup shots of bees on flowers from feet away that were almost as good as a macro. Good enough range for sports, or wildlife too

This lens is not cavier, but its definitely not powdered eggs.

I bought this lens 6 weeks ago and have been very impressed with it thus far. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is I don't believe it was intended to be a five star telephoto lens. Light weight, easy to use, and taking impressive shots of birds in flight I have no complaints. If this lens can freeze a hummingbird's wings in flight and make a sharp clear portrait of it then I got my money's worth. And indeed, I got my money's worth. I'm glad I got it added to my glass.

Great backup lens for me

Very pleased with my new light weight telephoto lens and everything that came with it. It's not easy to carry my 150-600mm lens around all the time. Great backup.

Great Lens and Great Price

Super great lens is shooting with a tripod! I use it for Astrophotography and I can get great shots of the Orion Nebula with no telescope in a single image.

Compact Capability at a Bargain Price

I give this lens 5 stars based on its overall quality:value ratio. To be clear, it is not comparable to the 70-200 f2.8 (or even the f4) with image stabilization, but at its amazingly low price point, this is a very good lens. I purchased mine about two years ago as an inexpensive (on a "deal of the day" sale, around $100) emergency backup lens. Opened the box, attached it to my 6D M1, ran a few test shots, then tucked it into my bag where it has stayed until this past week. Recently, I attended a concert at a venue that allowed cameras but no flash or "pro" lenses, so I was unable to pull out my 70-200 f2.8 IS. Without terribly great expectations, I decided to give the 75-300 some work. Much to my surprise, this lens yielded very good image quality; even at 300mm, the labels on the guitars and drum heads could be clearly read. My distance to the subjects ranged between 60-80 feet. I didn't experience any of the soft focus or vignetting issues mentioned in other reviews. My camera was a 6D M2 shooting at ISOs between 8000-10,000. A number of the reviews mention the need to use a tripod, but all of my shooting was handheld and I had no problems with shake as long as I kept the shutter speed above 1/125. A couple sample photos attached. IS is a great feature, but anyone who's been shooting before IS existed should know how to brace a camera without using a tripod. The lens is extremely light and easy to hand hold, and the extra 100mm (vs the 70-200) of reach proved very beneficial. For photographers who need telephoto capability but are on a tight budget (or those that just want to have a lightweight backup to their "big" lenses), this 73-300 is a decent piece of glass to have in your bag

Good starter lense

I purchased a Canon 6d body only. I bought this lense mainly because of the price. It gave me something to work with while learning the camera. The lense takes good pictures and I am happy with it while I build my bank roll for a better lense.

does this fit a cannon rebel t7

By skygirl

I want to buy a zoom Lens. I have a cannon rebel t7 . does it fit this camera??

Great for action shots and close ups.

By Cheer M.

This lens is fantastic. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and I am always up in the stands trying to get decent pictures. With this lens it is as if I am right next to her. The close ups and actions shots are fantastic. Would recommend to anyone - especially a beginner like me. Takes excellent pictures!

CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA

“AF” usually refers to autofocus in the photography world, but here, it also stands for affordability. Meet the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA, a high-functioning zoom camera capable of taking beautiful live action shots, astounding landscapes, and more:

Product Highlights

  • The rare DC motor inside the Canon 75-300mm lenswill ensure that you get as much performance out of your camera as you’re putting into each and every shot—all done seamlessly.
  • A surprisingly wide field of viewallows you to take full, lush landscapes that rival anything you’d get from a high-end lens.
  • The sharp image quality from the Canon 75-300mm lensmeans you can keep on taking landscapes, even in low light conditions that sometimes put a lens to the test.

Want a lens that sees exactly what you see when you look at a sunset? Check out this Canon lens and you’ll be amazed at how much of each sunset can be captured in every single shot.

Learn about the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA

No, you’re not looking at a space telescope designed to carry pictures of distant galaxies—this is actually the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA lens. And even if it’s not going into space anytime soon, you’ll still be amazed at the features and capabilities that Canon was able to pack into this bad boy, ranging from a DC motor for the autofocus to 9 groups and 13 elements of design. If you want to grab a lens that allows you to zoom in for a range of effects, from background blurring and general depth tomfoolery to plenty of landscape power, you’ve found it. Not the only question we have to ask here at Adorama is: what are the technical specs that make the Canon EF 75-300mm F/4-5.6 III lens such an attractive option as your next lens purchase?

  • Stunning landscape shots. A good landscape is a terrible thing to waste—and believe it or not, a lot of photographers don’t know how to match their lens to the proper shot. You won’t have to worry about that when utilizing your Canon 75-300mm lens. This lens is designed to handle a range of landscapes, whether you want to photograph your subject as a silhouette in a romantic sunset or grab plenty of low light in late-night city and landscapes. The closest focusing distance of 4.9 feet shows you exactly how well suited this lens is for those far-off shots that don’t quite work with an ordinary lens.
  • Surprising angle of view. A telephoto lens is not a wide angle of view lens—otherwise, it wouldn’t be a telephoto lens. But you’ll be amazed at just how much raw imagery you can capture in your Canon 75-300mm lens. The 32-degree angle of view here offers plenty of range for picking up those far-off sunset shots without feeling cramped. In fact, you’ll find that you can craft wide and expansive landscapes even in low-light situations.
  • Autofocus with a DC motor. The usual USM is cast aside here in favor of a DC motor that’s high-functioning, giving you the automatic focus you need to simply grab a camera with the Canon 75-300mm lensand take a beautiful shot of that scenery you just noticed while on your hike. The autofocus won’t get in the way; instead, it will supplement your own tastes and eye as a photographer and allow you to focus on what matters, and that’s crafting the right shot.
  • Easy interchangeability means portability. One of the top-rated customer comments on the Canon 75-300mm lens is that it’s easily interchanged with the proper cameras, which makes this particular lens a great way to add some zoom capability to your photographer’s arsenal without sacrificing any convenience. If you need to switch from a short-focus lens to this zoom lens, you can easily switch them out without missing a beat, even if you’re working at a photography gig where every moment counts.
  • A one-year warranty from Canon means that you’ll have plenty of durability with this lens, feeling secure as you try it out on a range of landscape, wildlife, and sports and action shots. Purchase from Adorama and don’t be afraid to give this lens a run for its money, pushing it to its limit while it shows off just how well an affordable zoom lens can perform.

When you need to zoom in and you need a lens that will do it for you without breaking the bank, the CANON EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (NON USM) USA may just be the best option on the market.

Are you an avid photographer seeking a versatile lens for capturing sports, portraits, or wildlife The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens is a compact, lightweight, and high-quality 4x telephoto zoom lens that is designed to meet your diverse photography needs. With its silver ring on the front part of the zoom ring, this lens adds a touch of luxury to your photography gear.

The optical system, construction, and exterior of this lens mirror those of the esteemed EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM model. The key difference lies in the autofocus (AF) drive system. Instead of a USM, this lens employs a DC motor to power the AF, ensuring fast and efficient autofocus, making it an excellent choice for sports and other fast-paced photography scenarios.

Despite its powerful features, the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens maintains a compact size and close focusing range, making it a convenient addition to your camera bag. It also shares accessory compatibility with the USM lens, providing flexibility for photographers who already own or plan to invest in additional Canon accessories.

For advanced amateurs and beginners alike, the 75-300mm range of this lens serves as an ideal entry point into the world of telephoto photography. Whether you're shooting close-ups of wildlife or capturing the action on a sports field, the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens is designed to deliver crisp, clear, and stunning images.
