This high-performance telescope, designed by Explore Scientific, is equipped with advanced Hoya FCD100 optics, comparable in quality to Ohara FPL-53, ensuring superior image clarity and contrast.
This innovative telescope is designed with an air-spaced triplet optical design, which effectively minimizes chromatic aberrations. The result is stunning, high-contrast images that bring the beauty of the night sky to life. The telescope's optical surfaces are enhanced with proprietary EMD multi-layer coatings, further boosting the quality of the images it produces.
The ED102 telescope is not just about superior optics. It also features a robust 2.5" Hexagonal focuser, designed to offer rigid support and accommodate up to 10lbs of gear. This two-speed 2" rack-and-pinion focuser allows for precise adjustments, ensuring your celestial viewing is always sharp and detailed.
Compact yet powerful, this 102mm telescope is versatile enough to be mounted on a larger telescope, adding a new dimension to your astrophotography experience by separating the guiding and imaging duties. The integrated Vixen-Style Dovetail and Explore Finder Scope Base make mounting and setup a breeze.
With a 714mm focal length and a 1.14 arcsec resolution, this telescope is perfect for viewing everything from the rugged lunar terrain to the serene structure of Saturn's rings, and even the brightest deep sky treasures of the Messier catalog. The ED102 Classic White f/7 Air Spaced Triplet with Hoya FCD100 optics and Integrated Dew Shield weighs just 12lbs, making it an ideal grab-and-go instrument for spontaneous stargazing sessions.
