I purchased this XCD 55mm direct from Hasselblad but have bought other lenses from Adorama. This is a bit smaller than the other X series lenses which is a bonus, using a 72mm filter size. I was very impressed with how quickly it focuses compared to other Hasselblad lenses. It is very quick, spot on, and I have not noticed much hunting as I have with some of my other system lenses. The XCD 55mm f/2.5 V Lens is equipped with an advanced leaf shutter capable of achieving shutter speeds up to 1/2000s, providing flash synchronization at all speeds. The lens features a focus ring and a customizable lens control ring, allowing seamless switching between autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF) modes with a simple push and pull of the focus ring. In MF mode, photographers can easily check focus distance and depth of field (DOF) readings, while the control ring can be tailored for quick access to preferred functions.
Offering a viewpoint akin to the human eye, the XCD 55mm f/2.5 V Lens is an excellent choice for full or half-length portraits, documentary photography, still life, and daily photography. Despite its lightweight design, weighing only 372g, it delivers top-class optical performance, thanks to its precision optics and outstanding imagery. The new focusing module incorporates a linear stepping motor and a lighter, smaller focusing lens group, eliminating any backlash from lens group movement and ensuring fast, flexible, and accurate focusing.
