Of course, it's the only game in town. The ink looks and works great. Be aware that there is an oily carrier that goes on the print which evaporates over time. I haven't seen a problem with non-RC papers. Apparently the stuff soaks into the paper where it does no harm. But with RC papers it can't absorb, and so it winds up on the back of the glass of framed prints. I have managed to mitigate the problem somewhat by covering RC papers with newsprint which seems to absorb much of the oil. It's an incomplete fix, but it seems to help.

Epson Ultrachrom HDR ink is fantastic. Very vibrant colors, very long lifetime, and it's a prefect match for the Epson printers. Accept no substitute! It does have one problem... If you print on RC materials the ink outgasses some kind of oily film onto the back of glass over time. It's nasty and you can see it on framed prints. I sandwich RC prints between sheets of newsprint for at least 24 hours - longer if possible, and that helps.

You can elevate your printing experience with the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24 inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44 inch), Epson's premier ten-color printers. These printers are equipped with a groundbreaking pigment ink technology - Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink. This unique ink set includes the vibrant hues of orange and green, significantly expanding the color gamut and enhancing digital printing opportunities, especially in the package and remote proofing market segments.
Epson's UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density, resin-coated pigment ink formulation. It includes a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black, along with cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. A matte black is also included and can be auto-switched with photo black.
This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink delivers a reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and excellent short-term color stability. It also offers outstanding long-term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 are designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency. They feature two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml), which contribute to a lower cost per milliliter of ink. These high-capacity ink cartridges also reduce the need for frequent replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.
These printers are equipped with Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, which has 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work together to minimize and detect nozzle clogging beforehand, eliminating downtime and reducing paper waste used during the cleaning process.
Epson's AID technology uses a sensor near the print head that counts the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge means insufficient ink was fired, so the print head cleaning process starts automatically.
Compared to current 8 color 24 inch and 44 inch printers, the print speed of the Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 is dramatically increased. The Stylus Pro 7900 can complete an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in an impressive 5 minutes. Experience the revolution in printing technology with the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900.
