Of course, it's the only game in town. The ink looks and works great. Be aware that there is an oily carrier that goes on the print which evaporates over time. I haven't seen a problem with non-RC papers. Apparently the stuff soaks into the paper where it does no harm. But with RC papers it can't absorb, and so it winds up on the back of the glass of framed prints. I have managed to mitigate the problem somewhat by covering RC papers with newsprint which seems to absorb much of the oil. It's an incomplete fix, but it seems to help.

Epson Ultrachrom HDR ink is fantastic. Very vibrant colors, very long lifetime, and it's a prefect match for the Epson printers. Accept no substitute! It does have one problem... If you print on RC materials the ink outgasses some kind of oily film onto the back of glass over time. It's nasty and you can see it on framed prints. I sandwich RC prints between sheets of newsprint for at least 24 hours - longer if possible, and that helps.

Epson Ultrachrom HDR ink is fantastic. Very vibrant colors, very long lifetime, and it's a prefect match for the Epson printers. Accept no substitute! It does have one problem... Before diving into the world of professional printing, consider the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24 inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44 inch), Epson's pioneering ten-color printers. These printers are armed with a groundbreaking pigment ink technology - the Epson UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink. This innovative ink set introduces orange and green, significantly broadening the color spectrum and enhancing digital printing possibilities, particularly within the package and remote proofing market segments.
Epson's UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density, resin-coated pigment ink formulation. It features a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black - plus cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. A matte black is also incorporated and can be auto-switched with photo black. This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink offers reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and exceptional short-term color stability.
Moreover, it provides outstanding long-term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints. The introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml) contributes to a lower cost per milliliter of ink, reducing costs and the frequency of cartridge replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 are equipped with Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, featuring 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work together to minimize downtime by preemptively detecting and reducing nozzle clogging, eliminating paper waste used during the cleaning process.
Epson's AID technology employs a sensor near the print head that monitors the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge indicates insufficient ink was fired, triggering the print head cleaning process automatically. Compared to current 8-color 24 inch and 44 inch printers, the print speed is dramatically increased, with the Stylus Pro 7900 completing an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in a remarkable 5 minutes.
