Not enough USB connectors, I still need a USB extender. With connectors on front & back it takes up too much desk space and make a wiring rats next... the old mini dock was MUCH cleaner & easier to dock & undock.

Sounds like a very loud computer fan is running whenever I connect it to my laptop. The fan sounds stops the second I disconnect and restarts upon reconnect.

I bought this as an add on item while purchasing a laptop. Dock came but laptop has been delayed 3 times now. I understand shortages but I would not have spent $1400 on a laptop if it was going to be delayed indefinitely.

This is my second HP dock. Both docks have crashed occasionally and seem to struggle to handle dual monitor setups, especially when one is plugged into the DisplayPort. This dock also runs hot, even when I only have one monitor plugged into the dock via HDMI and the other plugged directly into my laptop.

I just bought the HP USB-C Dock because I needed more USB ports for my laptop which only had two. I set it up right away and so far so good. No complaints and it's easy to set up. I'm very happy that I bought it.

I'm currently working from home and found myself with numerous plugs for monitors, laptop, keyboard, fan, and printer. While I love my HP Envy x360 laptop, one of the issues was not having enough USB ports. HP USB-C Dock = Problem Solved! I now have enough ports for everything don't have to switch cords back and forth when using different items.

One of the USB ports stopped working after very little use. I'm also under the impression that its video output is lackluster but I need to do more research.

This item doesn't work. It just flickers. Anytime you open something on the laptop, the dock starts flickering, disconnecting the second monitor and gives over 25 errors that freeze the computer. Don't waste your money.

Before purchasing, I called HP Tech Support to ensure the dock would be fully compatible with my sons laptop. I specifically asked if it would be able to charge the laptop via the USB-C port. The person I spoke to looked up his laptop based on the serial number I provided, and assured me it would. She was wrong, it does not. We paid a ton of money for a dock that requires the laptop to be powered independently. Moreover, since i bought it as a Christmas present, by the time we knew it would not work as intended, it was past the 30-day return window. Very disappointed.

the docking station has one VGA and one Display port for monitors which may require an adapter or a different monitor. The system generally works trouble free but sometimes seems to cause a flicker on the cursor. The battery never seems to fully charge while in use. The cord to connect to the computer could be longer.

I bought this about a month ago and it's worked great so far. I guess my laptop doesn't support charging capabilities, but the dock can power certain laptops that do support charging through their USB-C port. The dock comes with an adapter that goes into a regular USB port on your computer (which I use) and it's fine, if you need that (don't have a C). Plenty of USB ports on the dock itself, supports two external monitors and has an aux plugin.

I spent over an hour trying to figure out why my brand new HP laptop did not recognize the brand new HP USB-C dock plugged in to the USB-C port. If the HP USB-C dock does not connect through the USB-C port, maybe you should stop calling it a "USB-C" dock. HP's solution was to slap a USB 3 adapter onto the dock instead of working out their own interface issues. It doesn't charge through the USB 3, so you still need to connect the charging cable every time. Forum posts on this topic date back to 2011. They've had almost 10 years to fix this.

Sales rep recommended this for my laptop and insisted it charged my laptop, which is an hp product. It does not charge the envy laptop but has a great connection and docking station works wonderfully!

I've been bounced around "support" for an hour or so. The third person i spoke to suggested that the HP dock i bought (after consulting with our IT guy who researched it) just isn't compatible with my HP laptop. The laptop was purchased in March of this year, the dock is new, out of the box, purchased from HP, not an intermediate seller.

I wish that the port replicator had an on/off switch to turn on the laptop when it’s connected. Right now I have to open the laptop, turn it on, then close the lid. I also had to change the settings so that the laptop would not go to sleep when I closed the lid while docked. Otherwise, the display goes dark even though it’s connected to the dock. Not well thought out.

I wanted to clean up my work space. The Dock does not have the power run through it so instead of one cord, you will have two. The connector to the computer is an adaptor, so the product has not been updated by HP. Also, that cord is way too short. For the money, a outdated and poorly "worked around" product. And it is expensive at that.

I purchased this HP USB-C dock because it seemed to have the features I wanted. I planned to use it with both Dell and other non-HP laptops. Nothing suggested that this would not support 4K as most of these docks do. It was on sale so I took a chance, even though the product description on HP's website is totally silent on capability here. I did find mention of some settings for HP laptops that might help, but of course, this is not an option for non-HP laptops. So, it might work for you on an HP machine, but I am not sure how you can find out without trying it. And, that try-out cost me a re-stocking fee which I am not happy about. (By the way, I have numerous HP machines (tablets, desktop, printers) so I am not biased against HP.

After trying 2 other docks that would not display to my monitor, HP suggested this one. It does display via display link but will not support the 3840x2160 resolution of the Spectre laptop or UHD monitor. Will only support resolution up to 2560x1440

I bought this to have a setup for docking at home in addition to in the office, only to find that it does not provide power to my laptop, so I have to plug in two power cords to power the laptop and dock separately. Very disappointing as my other dock USB-C dock does power the laptop aas well.

It does work but I told the person that was helping me I needed 2 HDMI access points on this device to hook up the dual monitors and this one only has 1 HDMI port. Considering how much I paid for this device and it went on sale right after and considering how long it took to get to me, I am really not happy with HP at this time.

I called HP to determine the best docking station for my HP laptop. They took all of my laptop's information and recommended a product that has been very reliable using both monitors, a webcam, and a USB hub with numerous peripherals. The only thing to watch out for is the second video port on the docking station is a "Displayport" which has a unique shape (see photo). I didn't know this when I purchased it, so I had to order a cable for it. The good news there is that the HDMI port on the laptop itself worked as my second monitor input until the cable arrived. Other than that, it's proven to be a robust little device, and I'm glad I took the trouble to ask HP about it.
