Duplicate and replacement camcorder batteries

If you’re in the market for a duplicate or replacement battery for your camera or camcorder, selecting the right model is relatively easy. You can search for the model part number listed on your existing battery, or filter search results by compatibility.

Adorama carries plenty of replacement batteries for a variety of cameras, from the latest GoPro to specialized proprietary Sony or Canon batteries.

Universal battery systems

Some battery systems, such as V-Mount or Gold Mount battery systems, are far more interchangeable than many of the proprietary battery options specific to one camera model. That makes them preferable for videographers who need to maintain a large collection of batteries that will work universally with their full collection of gear.

V-Mount batteries were originally developed by Sony, and feature a battery that slides and locks into place with a v-shaped connection. V-mount batteries are very common and simple to use. Gravity holds the battery in place, so as long as you’re not in a very erratic filming position, they should work well.

Gold Mount batteries use a very stable three-stud mounting solution. The batteries slide into the mount sideways, so many camera operators find them to be more secure than the gravity-held V-mount option.

Ultimately, selecting the right universal battery system comes down to compatibility, budget, and speed. Choose camcorder batteries that last longer and recharge faster and your production will run smoothly and efficiently.
