This product is not really still a Smith and Victor product. I was purchased by another company and looks like a cheap poor quality Chinese product.

Beware ! These are not the old RS6 stands. They are fine for what they are, but are no longer 4 sections. Still 6' extended. The collapsed height is now 27 1/4". NOT the 23 inches they used to be.

These stands were recommended by the supplier of wind flags I purchased. Price was great. Stands are well built, easy to put up and take down.

All I can say is this is my seventh Smith-victor RS6 Raven lightstand that I have purchased.

I needed a stand I could fit in my standard 26" suitcase and this fit the bill. I'd like it a bit taller but due to the small size you are limiting the footprint and stability so it likely can't get much taller. Overall, a great stand that packs well.

Used this stand early on when I bought a thrift SV light kit. They worked well when I only used them maybe three of four times a month. Now that it is a couple years old, it shows some wear. Quality is still good for the price. I now use it mainly for single and dual-head cool lights (CFL's). It is a little flimsy for a 24" softbox.
