Dave C : Do you make a cross bar for the top that will accommodate a banner?PATRICK C : I used the stands for mounting wind flagsGERALD S : It certainly rugged enough to hold a banner and bar to hold it. I would use a piece of EMT tubing. Don't know how big your banner is. Wind might be only problem if blowing. Tripod has good stance area but if you raise it to max height with wind it might blow over. Could stabilize it with tie outs.DUANE T : No, I used them to support a small, light weight wind flag. They worked fine for that. They may support a banner depending on weight and indoors.....probably not outdoors! DuaneDENNIS A : I use the stands to mount wind flags. The wind flag makes a mounting bracket to be used with this stand or other stands. However, he recommends this stand, and his recommendation is spot on. This is the only stand I buy these days.
Shopper : I'm wondering if this light stand is Air-cushioned?ROY Z : No.JONATHAN Z : No it is not. It's just your basic light stand, so you will need to be careful when making adjustments while a light is mounted.

Don't buy this

This product is not really still a Smith and Victor product. I was purchased by another company and looks like a cheap poor quality Chinese product.

Subject to change without notice....?

Beware ! These are not the old RS6 stands. They are fine for what they are, but are no longer 4 sections. Still 6' extended. The collapsed height is now 27 1/4". NOT the 23 inches they used to be.

Great smallish-sized stand

I needed a stand I could fit in my standard 26" suitcase and this fit the bill. I'd like it a bit taller but due to the small size you are limiting the footprint and stability so it likely can't get much taller. Overall, a great stand that packs well.

Very Good Basic Stand

Used this stand early on when I bought a thrift SV light kit. They worked well when I only used them maybe three of four times a month. Now that it is a couple years old, it shows some wear. Quality is still good for the price. I now use it mainly for single and dual-head cool lights (CFL's). It is a little flimsy for a 24" softbox.
