The tripod is lite and excellent for what it is, however the legs pull too far out and essentially break the tripod. I think this is a manufacturing flaw. The stops are not glued in well. I think this is hit or miss, but the design of the stops is poor and I think inevitably they will all fail. It's also not easily fixed once it does break, rending the tripod into workaround. I was surprised, I actually like the nylon travel bag that comes with it.

Love the lightweight and versatility of this tripod. The only drawback is the twist locks on the legs. When setting up and tearing down they unlock easily. This is a minor inconvenience and has no effect on how well the tripod functions. It is a fair trade off as the lightweight is welcomed when hiking those long, steep miles. There are lighter models, but for me this tripod had the best bang for the buck. I am not disappointed with my decision. I do suggest, that one must do their research. Part of that includes reading these reviews. I would also suggest asking other photographers about their equipment. When it comes to equipment, the one thing photographers are not, is shy. We like to talk about our cameras, lenses gadgets etc. We even talk about the equipment we would like to have. I hope this review helps. Remember you don't have to go places other people won't go, to get great shots. All you have to do is see what other people don't see then expose them. Good luck and keep pressing that shutter button.

I like the size of this tripod for traveling but it could be stronger. I found that I had to hold it steady in a slight breeze while having my OMD EM-1 and 12-40 mounted on it.

Very compact yet surprisingly sturdy for its size. The head that comes with it has a nice and smooth feel to it.

I am disabled and cannot lug heavy equipment around, so I thought I would try this MeFOTO and I am glad that I did. compact lightweight and easy to use at a pretty reasonable price.

If you crave a little color in your photo rig and you need a first-rate travel tripod, this MeFOTO Travel Tripod with Ballhead (Black) is the perfect place to start. This solid aluminum tripod extends to 4.26', supports up to 8.8 lbs and folds down to a smidgen over one ft (12.6"). It also features color accents on the leg section locks and top of the tripod and it's supplied with a Q series ballhead in a matching color.
The ballhead offers separate head and pan locks, a 360deg. pan index and an integral bubble level. An Arca-Swiss style quick release plate is included. The tripod's legs can be spread independently, with two position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang weights from it for additional stability. A durable carry case with a shoulder strap is provided for storage and transport.
