I actually have two of these, one for each camera. These grip really solve two important situation. 1. The have two batteries instead off just one. 2. The grip has it's own fire button and can control shutter speed.

I don't know why I didn't buy this when I first purchased my camera (or prime lens). Honestly, I thought it was all hype to have a grip, but dang, I was wrong. This helps me keep my hand gripped much stronger on an already heavy camera. The few ounces this thing adds to your overall weight is minimal in comparison to not having this help balance your heavy-ass 85mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8 lenses or whatever lenses you have. Plus it adds double energy use via batteries, and humans. <You definitely get a work out.

This is an excellent addition to the camera. It adds battery capacity and comfort to the grip for extra balance and control. The fit and finish is taylor made for the body.

This battery grip completes the camera. It's well made, rock solid and adds a great deal of versatility. It also doubles the life of the camera since you can insert two batteries. Highly recommended!

Didn’t need the extra weight but big hands like the fit. Doubles battery life since it holds two but be aware that you loose the standard battery in the camera since the electronics for the grip will slind and lock into that compartment once you remove the battery compartment door - which is a simple, safe procedure.

Nothing beats OEM Canon ! The fit & finish is top notch ! Do not settle for 3rd party ! I've had the 40d, 50d, & 7d and all had both batteries load in the back. The 70d/80d grip has a side battery compartment. Its not bad....really. Just, to get to the other battery you have to take out the whole tray.

This is the third camera/battery grip combination I've had. I was surprised when I got the first one, because the engineers did the work, didn't leave it to the user. It provides a place to store the battery compartment cover, in case you want to take it off. You can put in one battery, and it can be in either slot. You can put in one fully charged battery and one at 50%. It works flawlessly under all circumstances. I do have two minor gripes. First is that, like the BG-E5, it has a slide-out tray for the batteries. The BG-E2 has a door on the back that directly exposes the batteries. I like that arrangement much better, but the tray may be related to having the alternate AA battery tray. Second, having a separate battery tray for AA means something more to carry. Neither of these things changes the fact that it's highly functional and exceptionally user-friendly.

The OEM Canon battery grip is worth the additional money. The fit finish and overall quality makes this a great value.

I know that a lot of camera users will go with whatever the most reasonable price brand there is for after market accessories, but after experiencing loose fitting and poor contract quality for an aftermarket battery grip, I sprung for the Canon brand and all the problems I was having ceased.

This battery grip does exactly what it's suppose to do give me the ability to hold 2 batteries at the same time. and to add to it it comes with a 6-AA battery magazine in case of an emergency and don't have anywhere to charge. This feature is a definite plus.

This battery grip from Canon for the new 70D camera is magnificent. It fits seamlessly onto the camera and the two pieces look like one unit. The camera controls built into the grip are placed very similar to where the controls on the camera are located and using them does not take a lot of getting used to. The included AA battery tray is handy if you cant recharge your regular batteries. It gives you a great backup power supply in a pinch. The construction of the grip seems very rugged and well built. I would highly recommend this grip to anyone who asks imo Canon really nailed this one.

Exceptional addition allowing you to shoot portrait much quicker. All switches and buttons mimic actual camera ones and it's as tough as the camera (without adding a ton of weight btw).BL: it looks good, feels good, and works flawlessly.

The Canon BG-E14 works perfectly. All functions operate as expected with this grip, it adds great balance as well as look to your 70D, and it feels like an integral part of your camera. It becomes very intuitive and comfortable with vertical shots, and even makes them easy when having to shoot one handed. Very pleased with this grip, and would certainly buy again. Spend the extra money.

I purchased the battery grip for my new 80D (w) and really haven't used it much as there's some sickness in family but from the usage thus far it's performed as expected.

Could have purchased a 3rd party manufacturer, but with a Canon Camera, I wanted to stay with original equipment manufacturer for the grip. Works fine

This is the brand name product. You pay extra for this grip but it is designed for this camera to fit well. Adds life to your battery usage because you have 2 batteries. I like the feature being able to use AA batteries as a backup. It does add weight to your camera so you may not use it all the time if you want a lighter load to carry.
