Use it to print landscapes and nature close ups.

Used daily for text and occasionally for high quality pictures. If not used for pictures for at least a week, I would need to run the cleaning utility in order to get a good picture that also resulted in high ink usage. After two years (just this last week) printer broke and locked up. Epson repair including cost of mailing to and for return was estimated to be between $ to $ Just ordered a R2000 as after rebate cost of new printer was $ Engineered. obsolescence? Would recommend to a Friend with the understanding of above.

I use this product mainly for high grade larger prints. The capability of up to 13x19 prints sets this apart from my other Epson printers. I switched from a Canon multi-ink printer but am now a real convert to Epson. Combined with high end papers this machine can deliver top notch prints.

Printer overall does great! Just wish that I could get more prints out of the cartridges before they ran out.

Good quality prints. Fast printing. Printer is really BIG and takes up a lot of space. Like the fact that it will print large size photots.

I've owned this printer for over 3 months now and have used it to print everything from 13 x 19 prints of nature landscapes to inkjet-printable DVD media for wedding proofs. I was a little dubious about how the prints would look on DVD media, but the combination of the matte white finish of the DVD media along with the color saturation of the printer made for a great combination. The media used was Ritek hub-printable DVD-R media.

I used an Epson R1800 for many years until it died recently and I upgraded to the R1900. Installation of the drivers and setup was simple. I like the ability to be able to change a single color ink cartridge when it's empty. Every January I give my kids a DVD with all the pictures I've taken throughout the previous year for their albums so I especially like the ability to print captions on CD's and DVD's. I also like being able to print 13" X 19 prints when I feel like it. This is a great printer for the money.

When I started to use the 1900 I still had the 1400 set up. The 1900 has an orange flesh tone and more contrast. The sameimage on the 1400 is just fine. I amworking with tech support but it is still orange. Not done testing yet.

This is the first Epson product that's disappointed in about 8 purchases. I've been a long time Epson fan and the 7600 printer is rock solid. The R1900 is a half-assed product that should be avoided.

A very good printer that produces great picture reproduction regardless of developing software with some shortcomings 1) Pricey ink replacement or small amount supplied for price. 2) If you ever need ink head replacement it is not cheap. I had to replace a six year old R1800 printer for about the same price as I paid (with rebates) for this one and I now believe the R1900 produces better prints.

I've used the printer only a few times, but it was easy to set up and works well without a lot of configuration. It is important to recognize that pictures viewed on a monitor will not look exactly like those that you print, so some changes have to be made in software to get what you want. As others have noted, the printer uses ink quickly, and replacements are not cheap. Still, I like the flexibility of being able to print my own photos quickly and easily.

I've wasted many, many hours trying to load special art papers in the manual feed. Now, it's broken. Product has been so unsatisfactory.

Makes beautiful prints, I love this printer! The quality is amazing, even when viewed under an 8x loupe! I've used it with Matte, Luster, and Glossy paper and the results are striking on all! Definitely download the ICC profiles for the paper you are using, it makes a difference. My only complaint: It has the ability to print up to 13 x 44 inches, but uses the same size ink cartridge as most letter-size printers... If they can make a large capacity ink cartridge, I would definitely buy it. I'm not really sure why they would even design it this way...

The large format is excellent, up to 13 x 19 with beautiful vibrant colors. Used with Epson Premium Luster and Premium Glossy papers this printer is the best I've used. I have printed 8 to 10 13 x 19 portraits and they look like they were produced in a lab.

I¹ve had the EPSON Photo R1900 for several months, but only over the past week have I really used it extensively. First I have to say that setting up the R1900 was extremely easy. I just unpacked, hooked up, installed the software from the CD, snapped in the ink cartridges, and loaded some paper all in 30-45 minutes start to finish. From the very first print I¹ve been very pleased with the print quality. I¹ve been using EPSON glossy and semi-gloss papers and printing both color and B&W images. The color prints are very sharp with vivid colors that really pop. The R1900 is also producing crisp B&Ws with great tonality. Using ICC profiles from EPSON the prints closely match the on-screen display. A great printer for the serious amateur photographer.

I needed a printer that would go large enough to produce the 12 x 12 scrapbook pages for my wife and meet my own needs of printing standard size prints from 4x6 to 8.5x11, labels and printable CDs. I have found the printer and I need to look no further! The Epson Stylus PHOTO R1900 answers all of my needs and goes to an even larger size of 13x19 that I look forward to exploring. I am very happy with the user interface and found it easy to setup, install drivers, and use the provided software. It was a simple matter of installing the driver CD, following the on-screen instructions, attaching the printer via USB, and it was ready to print. The driver software interfaces seamlessly with other applications on my computer such as word processing and scrapbooking software, and it proves easy to change print settings in the print dialogue. The Print CD software was simple to work with and it took me only about 10 minutes to start it up, import graphics, and print good quality directly to a printable CD instead of using a “stick-on” label. The printer produces photos and pages with vibrant color. Even without calibration, the color closely matches what is on the screen. I am amazed that it takes less than 2 minutes to print out a full color 8.5 x 11 page. I have used both store brand and Epson papers to print and found that the Epson paper by far gives me the best print quality. The printer is a bit bulky and doesn't fit on an average sized computer desk, but the print quality is well worth the size. All in all, I give the Epson Stylus PHOTO R1900 a 5 out of 5 rating. I think it is an excellent printer for the serious hobbyist who requires more than just standard color photo printing from their personal printer.

The printer produces gorgeous prints and quickly. However I would have liked the ink cartridges to be a bit larger capacity.

“I just got an Epson Stylus R1900 and I love it. My husband is the “technical” person in the house. But, I am proud to say that I put it together by myself! The instructions were self-explanatory, so even I could understand them. I thought I would be overwhelmed with ink installations and paper handling. This wasn’t the case. All I had to do was shake the cartridges a bit and I was on my way. I went from opening the box, to installing the drivers in 30 minutes. The best thing about it was getting my first print. It works better then I imagined.”
