I bought this camera as a backup for my Canon SX10 and as a light weight travel camera. There really is no comparison between it and the SX10. The SX10 is a far better camera. No manual comes with this camera. I actually got a manual with the SX10. Now to save a buck or two Canon gives you the manual on a CD. I suppose you have to take your computer with you if you want to look something up in the field. The telephoto zoom is extremely slow--snail slow. The on-off button is hard to operate. It is recessed and hard to push. The auto focus is less than stellar. It can not seem to maintain focus on small objects such as birds. Just for normal photography though it does seem to do a pretty decent job.

I haven't had the camera for long, took the first few shots in program, or auto, and found them to be Extremely noisy! Then shot at my own settings in Av, 100 ISO etc..... And noticed a lack of detail and clarity! For a camera that costs this much, I would have expected better.... I have to use it more and see what it does, but, a little disappointing :-/

I bought this camera to replace a powershot A540, and it has pretty well lived up to my expectations. Some other reviewers have pointed out that the pop up flash would be a great place to put your finger, but, you can turn the flash on or off just by opening or closing the flash. the lag is a little longer, but the images are more than double the size/clarity. All in all a solid camera, compact, decent battery life and the pros far outweigh the cons.

I wasn't sure about this camera since I normally buy Nikon but I must admit this camera has won me over. I love having a camera I can put in my pocket and still have a long zoom on. This will make a great every day camera. I got this so I wouldn't have to lug around my full size Dslr.

Been using this camera for about a week and I really like the pictures it takes. Also, the HD video is great. It's nice to have a long zoom lens in a camera this size. Stars get deducted for no viewfinder (I know it didn't have one when I bought it) in a [$] camera. I can't understand why Canon has eliminated the viewfinder on the Powershots. How much could it cost? Engineers, wake up and put the viewfinders back. LCD will ALWAYS get washed out by sun & glare, causing missed shots. Also, the flash pops up when the camera is turned on and it hits the left hand a lot. The on/off switch is hard to press as it's almost flush with the top of the camera. Need to use the fingernail to press it.

Excellent to just point and shoot obtaining pictures with great quality. Noisy under low light. Great, great display with great detail when viewing photos. Great flash but, but I can't avoid feeling like it's "getting in the way".
