This grip appears well-made and really does a nice job providing an excellent grip for my Canon t3i. Attaches easily and provides easy vertical shooting.

I rate this as "good stuff", 4 stars. It is probably the best hundred dollars you can spend on the camera body accessorys area. The ability to use two batteries at the same time was wonderful. I was able to shoot 1400 frames with my T2i before having to change batteries. For me that was day four on our trips in the Smokey Mountains. The trigger button is nearly identical to the camera body's focus button in the way it feels. A thumb wheel screws this to the bottom of the camera body and it stays tight. These should be included in the body mold they are that great. I don't have hulk hands, but this could have been better with a larger round in the finger grip area and moved it away from the camera body an inch. The camera sometimes feels small.

Probably the best accessory that I've added to my T2i. It makes the camera body a bit larger which I like, and makes shooting verticals wonderful. Very easy to add, and increases your battery capacity. Also gives you the ability to use AA batteries in an emergency.

I purchased the product mainly due to ergonomic reasons. Although I had been used to a small Canon G10, after I used my T4i for a while, it did not quite have a large enough size and feel I would prefer to have. Don't get me wrong, the T4i is much better ergonomically out of the box than the G10. The grip makes the T4i much more comfortable to hold since my entire hand and each finger has a place on the camera/grip. The camera with grip also feels much more balanced and steady when shooting. The rubber grips are very comfortable and soft to hold. Shooting in portrait mode is now a pleasure and I find myself shooting more in that mode since it is much easier to hold and use the camera than without the grip. The additional control buttons on the grip are excellent and work and feel just like the camera's original buttons. They are very practical and can be disabled so that they are not accidentally activated. Since I originally purchased the T4i with a second battery, it is an added bonus to be able to have extended battery life when using the camera/grip with 2 batteries installed. The only possible negative that anyone could find with the grip is the slightly increased weight, but that is to be expected when adding an additional battery and the grip. For me it is a non issue since I find the additional weight a benefit on a relatively small and light DSLR to begin with. I think that weight is always a consideration when choosing a camera and lens combination, but it should not detract from the significant benefits of the product to enhance your shooting comfort and capabilities overall.

I use this on my Rebel EOS T2i for photographing wildlife photos, Blues Fest photos and family pictures. The grip is an accessory you should have for this camera. It adds nice weight to the T2i. The AA battery cartridge that comes along with it is a nice plus when the E8 batteries run down with no way to recharge quickly. The shutter releases on the battery grips allow vertical shooting without having to twist your hands to reach the shutter releases on the camera body.

I am a loyal Canon user so when it came time to get a battery pack I turned to the same company as my camera. I know that there are many "cheaper" options available for battery packs but I wanted something to match perfectly. Just a personal thing! The battery pack is very user friendly, easy to install and because it is a Canon product the match is spot on! I also wanted to note that the shipping and customer service was more than I expected. I happended to order over the Easter holiday and my product was shipped practically overnight once the store re-opened. Very pleased with this product and Adorama and I will for sure be back for more as my business and experience grows!

I'll use it mainly for landscape and wildlife, but also want to use it for long exposure astrophotography. I'll be attaching the camera prime focus mode to a telescope with and without the battery grip depending on the exposure length and I'll also determine if the extra weight of the battery grip is too much for the optic train behind the telescope.

Love that it helps add some weight to the rebel and makes it easier to hold.

This battery grip is a must have. It really is a great product and a joy to have. It makes it easier to handle my T4I. Every photography should have one in their camera bag. Now, for the most part, I never leave home without it.

Worked well the first day. Second day the camera wasn't turning on. Re-charged batteries and connected again, nothing. Removed the grip and inserted the battery into the camera, nothing. Tried the same with AA batteries, nothing. Then I started researching and found many stories similar to mine. Some battery grips are damaging the cameras, any idea why?

I love medium format photography for lightning as i have been doing this for thirty years. This digital camera allows me to do portraits of my grand kids, landscape and sporting events. The first time I used this digital camera was at my nephews baseball game at night and I was blown away at the photo's. I love film but with the economy I have to use digital a lot. but it's cool.

My first digital camera is this canon T2i and though I prefer my RZ67 mamiya especially for shooting lightning, I have fallen in love with this canon and though I didn't think it could get better ya'll introduce the bg-e8 battery grip and besides the fact that it helps the photographer in the over all handling of the camera as shooting in any position is now made easier and the cherry on top is the lasting power of the batteries as in five seconds you can pop in the tray of double a's and never miss a lick.

yes [*] makes knock-offs of these but do you want to trust your equipment to them? Invest your money with real Canon equipment and buy from a reliable company.

I shoot mainly portraits, but I wanted to make sure I had enough power to shoot my brother's wedding. I am so impressed by this product. The extra power is fabulous, but the way this makes my camera feel, as well as the added shutter release, are priceless.

Finally, my camera fits properly in my hand. The T2i was always just a little too small for me, but with the extender I can now hold it comfortably in both orientations. The additional set of controls for portrait pictures is also extremely helpful, I didn't even realize they were on this when I bought it and now I couldn't live without them. This basically completes the camera.

This was a gift to myself for my Daughters Wedding. I needed something that would help with providing power for the whole event. This thing saved the day I did not have to change batteries once during the event, and the added grip area made holding the camera (A Canon T2i) a real joy, You have to get this for your Canon "Now"

A bit of a pricey battery grip, but it is the 'real' thing, as it is an original Canon product. I use the T2i for both stills and video. It is very well built and finished and matches the camera perfectly. Adds nice weight and stability and I've been very happy with it - don't have a bad thing to say about it. Highly recommended.

This is my first grip and I am happy I got the original. The extra battery along with the grip did not add much weight to an otherwise light camera. Now I shoot with ease in both landscape and portrait modes without changing hand positions, thanks to the shutter release, zoom buttons and the main dial on the grip itself. The grip feels sturdy and looks like an integral part of the camera. I have used the camera for days without having to re-charge. A must have if you are considering any add-ons at all.

The Canon Vertical grip is a great accessory for shooting portraits and any other vertical hand-held photographs. The Canon quality is much better than the lesser cosy/quality knock-offs.

The grip is a permanent accessory that increases the aesthetics and functionality of the camera, by doubling shooting time, making it easy to shoot vertical, has many of the same controls as the T3i, and if the need ever arises, has an adapter to use six AA batteries.

The Battery Grip BG-E8 holds up to two LP-E8 battery packs or six AA Batteries to offer double-length shooting time. The vertical shutter release makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.
The following functions are available in the vertical shooting position. Shutter-Release, Main Dial, AF Point Selection, AF/FE Lock, Index, Aperture, Exposure Compensation Button, Reduce Button
Compatibility:
EOS Rebel T5i
