I just received this lens yesterday and have taken a bunch with it so far. It is fantastic. The level of detail and vibrance of the photos are amazing. Well worth the price!

Low cost, versatile, and easy to use with really decent optics.
This is a somewhat unique lens for an ASP-C camera. 35mm (55mm equivalent on an ASP-C) it fills a gap I had for wanting something close to a 50mm lens. Not only does it very nice imaging, but also 1:1 macro capability too, along with a rather unique and adequate macro light that is adjustable.
I love macro photography and though I have Canon's 100mm "L" lens, this little 35mm just works very nicely for those really close-up situations where I can't get light on the target without getting out the auxiliary lights, stands, or tripod supports. Now I can just press the lens button, and there's my tiny little subject all well illuminated.

Very happy customer
I took an interest in this lens a short time ago as I wanted a focal length that was pretty near 50mm on my Canon 80D cropped-sensor camera. Most of the retailers offer this at pretty much the same price, including Amazon, but you have to be very careful because only a few of them are actually Canon-authorized dealers.
Adorama not only IS a authorized dealer, but also offered this very nice 'bundle' for a very competitive price. I've come to know that Adorama really is the best purchase option and their after sale assistance is second to none!

It’s Exactly What I Needed
I’m back to “real” photography only recently and am working up the learning curve. This lens does everything I hoped it would. The macro photo’s I’ve been taking are quite good. For now, this is the lens I’m carrying with me for catching detail and practicing settings. I like it a lot.

good product for the price
I am using this lens to photograph close-ups of my fly tying and I hope to photograph some stream side stone flies and caddises too. I believe the lens flash will help illuminate the subject. I plan to inter some of my photos in the contest here.

Cannon Macro 35mm f/ 2.8
Received it and it automatically said it was faulty. Contacted Customer Service to return it and was told I would receive a E-mail on how to return the lense. And haven't received anything after a week so far

I've been waiting.. for a macro lens (not a girl) like you! (Foreigner fans will understand)
I always wanted to own a micro lens since I bought my Canon 7D back in 2012. This lens is great! It's small, affordable and the quality is excellent. I still don't know its full potential.. but I am excited to discover all the things its capable of. My macro journey starts with the Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM Lens!

Canon 35mm Macro lens
I do like this Marco lens, sharp with a built-in ring light, image stabilization too. Lens is very light in weight. Could use a needed filter ring that can fit over the light without causing a shadow. I’m a big fan of UV filters as protection.

Excellent quality, limited use.
As usual this lens has excellent Canon quality. However, I exchanged it and paid a little more for the highly-rated EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM which gets you closer to the subject matter. The ring light is an interesting idea but probably would not be used unless you are shooting macro in very low light. The IS is a must.

Precise little lens does a good job on macro shots. I love the led lights on the end of the lens. They can significantly alter the same shot.

Five star preliminary review!
After using this lens for only a couple of weeks (100 + photos for wide-angle landscape, nature macro, and some portraits, it suits my less than super-critical eye. That is not to say a super-critical eye would not appreciate this lens.
I'm impressed with the (56mm on crop sensor) for portraits, although I have to say that the Canon EF-S 24mm STM (essentially 38mm) may become my favorite.

Great lens for the money.
Very sharp at f8 and macro. Love the light, which you access by unscrewing the hood, not just by removing the lens cap. There is no other EF-S 35mm macro lens that Canon sells, so it has to have the light...the other reviewers just couldn't find it.

Awesome Lens!
It was delivered today and after using it for a couple of hours I am hooked! Images are so sharp and macro shooting is a pure delight! Now my main lens on my 80D.
