Well Priced Used

The Product came well wrapped and right on time and was in exactly the condition if not better than advertised, in better shape than my own units of the same age at a very fair price. A better price than I saw other Pocket Wizards selling on Craigslist.

So far so good

-Used to light dance floor at wedding with Speedlights. Need to buy sturdier attachment to Speedlight. -Construction a bit weak.

Fires Every Times

I use these to trigger my Photogenic monolights using Flex TT5 units on the camera. Works great. Fires almost every single time. Don't waste your money on a 'cheaper' solution as you will end up buying Pocket Wizard in the end.

Works great

Mostly weddings and portrait. Sure beats sync cords laying around. Having mobility to move away from lights is a real bonus. The one thing I don't like is no TTL functionality, you go manual with your speedlights. If you know what your doing this is not that big of a deal though.

Great wireless signal carrier

Reliable signal receiver/transmitter. There's a reason they're the industry standard. Unfortunately, they're expensive and the build quality doesn't inspire much confidence, although I've never had one fail or break.

Solid product

I have purchased two of the units. They are very reliable and simple to use. The batteries seem to last quite a long time. I use them in an in-home studio and they have worked flawlessly. I have used them in combination with a 7D, 5D Mark II, and 580EX II.

Total reliability!

I was tired of infrared syncing whereby other photographers would trigger my lights. No longer a problem with a pair of these units.

It is excellent in its use, high price

It is excellent in its use, but considering that a high price must be purchased separately, I think it must have a more economical cost at least $ 200 for two and [$] as is the original price.

great tool

Pocket Wizards are the industry-standard and I am very happy with my units. These are all-manual units and are triggered by the new TT5's but do not control flash power, etc. They are basic triggers that reliably do their jobs over and over again.

It's a must...

I have been using PocketWizard and PocketWizard II's for a while. I have also bought into another good system that I was thinking about switching too. The other system was not as quick because it was using different parts in order to do one job. I just found that adding two items to do one job was a bit clunky, so I gave that system to my brother after I picked up a pair of PocketWizard Flex TT5's and was really impressed by the TTL system. The reason I was considering the switch to the other system, because I broke two of the PocketWizards. The first one, the base snapped when my light stand decided to collapse because the lock on the column failed, so it retracted. The other PocketWizard fell out of my camera bag when I was pulling out another unit. In both occurrences, it was less than 40 degrees outside where is at. The plastic with the PocketWizards seems to get brittle in the cold. I really wish they used a different plastic. That is my major con to the PocketWizards. These are great triggering devices, and really work over long ranges, but the plastic gets brittle in cold... I had a friend who managed to put the shattered pieces of plastic together and use the Duplicolor Truck Bed Coating that comes in a 16oz aersol can (about $10). Works so well, that I am thinking about do that to several other items and the rest of my pocket wizards. (Not the TT5) It does require some serious masking patience. The PocketWizards have been very reliable, and I have been able to place flash units into many nooks and cranny's without issues. Shooting weddings has also been great, I just use a few gels to match the lights in building, and then adjust my white balance, and voila, all is good, and the flash units don't disturb anyone, especially in restrictive Catholic Churches. I had only had an issue once, and that was because there was a big generator between me and the flash units. They so far have worked well in the rain and snow, but again, be aware of the plastic. I highly recommend them, nothing else seems to be nearly as reliable and quite of few companies are building the units into their equipment.

So Easy To Use, Even I could do it!

I use my 4 PocketWizard Plus II with Nikon SB-900 and 3 SB-600's. So much easier and reliable than using the Nikon Creative Lighting System.

Great Product

These work great with my photogenic strobes. Haven't had a misfire yet. I use them in my studio all the time. The only bad thing I can say is that they are expensive in my book and to get them to work with strobes I had to buy adapters that are real expensive. To make it fire my 5D MK II I had to buy a motor drive cable which is real expensive. If you need to fire your strobes or camera remotely, these work every time. I have a seconic L358 with built in pocket wizard and it works seamlessly with the stobes and motor drive set up.

Does what its supposed to do

Its nice to be able to place this guy pretty much anywhere and know it will fire without worrying about line of sight, but I'd sure hate to drop one of these puppies on a very hard surface.

Excellent product, weak build

Once you go wireless, there is no going back. Great to not be tethered with sync cords. Must have for mobility when photographing portraits. Great product, would be nice if there was a sturdy carrying case for 2 or 3 of these so the antenna doesn't get broken

very reliable and lets you concentrate on composing your image and not trying to figure out why things aren't working! Saves time and nerves! Must have for any decent photographer that shoots with strobes.

PocketWizard, just raised the bar in wireless radio technology again with the launch of the New Plus II Transceiver. Faster, smarter and easier to use, just connect the Plus II to your camera and/or flash and you are wireless-ready. The Plus II offers all the popular features of the successful PLUS Transmitter/Receiver system but that's where the similarity ends.

The PLUS II offers the latest innovation in wireless triggering for remote cameras and flash units at an amazingly affordable price. Current PocketWizard owners will also appreciate that it's compatible with all PocketWizard radios past and present; it is also part of the PocketWizard Wireless Freedom system.

The PLUS II is the first radio triggering system to offer Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology. This technology analyzes the status of the PLUS II's miniphone jacks, camera hot shoe or the TEST button to determine which mode (Transmit or Receive) to set itself. By default, the PLUS II is always in Receiver mode unless it senses a trigger pulse from a camera's hot shoe, then it quickly switches to a Transmitter. For shooting situations that may require the Auto-Sensing disabled, simply set the selector switch to LOCAL and the PLUS II will only receive radio signals.

Since the Plus II is a Transceiver, there's no need to worry about how many Transmitters or Receivers to bring with you on the shoot because it's All-in-One. The Plus II is so simple yet advanced; utilizing its new powerful microprocessor it will automatically trigger a camera and remote flash within 10 microseconds (1/100th of a millisecond) with its built-in Auto-Rely mode.

Photographers can remotely trigger their cameras and the camera-mounted PLUS II automatically relays the triggering signal to a remote flash. With the PLUS II's fast switching speed, there's no loss of camera shutter speed performance or triggering delays.

The Plus II also sports the fastest triggering speed in its class, at an amazing 12 fps; it can out pace the fastest D-SLR's available. The Plus II also offers PocketWizard's bullet proof, best in the biz reliable triggering with a range of up to 1600 feet away at synch speeds of 1/250 (focal) or 1/500 (Leaf shutter). Four selectable channels provide secure triggering and choosing which zone to trigger (on camera flash, remote flash or both) is as easy as sliding a switch.

The New PocketWizard Plus II offers great flexibility and ease-of-use for photographers who demand a reliable wireless solution that they can just plug it in, turn it on and shoot. In addition, the Plus II comes complete with various mounting solutions, PC-1 synch cable and batteries. A wide range of camera and flash triggering cables and adapters along with a 3-year warranty makes the PocketWizard Plus II the perfect choice for reliable wireless radio triggering.
