Following the success of their tripod and imaging accessories, Manfrotto today announced two lines of bags for professional and enthusiast photographers. Featuring lab-tested and specially engineered key protection features, Manfrotto the new bags include a wide range of shoulder bags, slingers, backpacks and holsters for anywhere from a Mirrorless compact and a spare lens to a complete pro system. Manfrotto Pro Bags
Holster Plus: Available in 4 sizes, the Professional Holsters are designed to hold a minimal amount of gear—typically a DSLR with a lens attached, an additional lens, and a few accessories. All models have top openings for quick access while the construction is said to provide maximum protection. The Holster Plus 20 and Holster Plus 30 can hold smaller cameras and lenses and are designed for photojournalists, while the Holster Plus 40 and Holster Plus 50 hold longer lenses for sports and nature photography.
Shoulder Bag: Manfrotto calls its Shoulder Bags “more a mobile office than a bag”. The top-line Shoulder Bag 50 is designed for 1 or 2 pro DSLRs with battery grips and a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens attached, as well as 6-7 extra lenses, another camera body, a couple of flash units, a 15-inch laptop and assorted accessories. The Shoulder Bag 10 and 20 hold a single DSLR and assorted lenses, while the Shoulder Bag 30 , 40 and 50 hold much more.
Backpack: There are three new Backpacks in the Manfrotto Pro line, ranging from the Backpack 20, which has room for a pro DSLR with a long zoom attached plus 3 extra lenses, a 13-inch laptop and various accessories and a tripod, to the Backpack 50, which will accommodate a DSLR with a long zoom, 5 lenses, a 15-inch laptop, a tripod and accessories. In between the two is the mid-sized Manfrotto Pro Backpack 30.
Roller Bag: The largest of Manfrotto’s two roller bags, the Roller Bag 70, is FAA compliant as a carry-on. It can hold 2 pro-sized DSLRs, 2 x 70-200 F/2.8 lenses, 4-5 extra lenses, 2 flashes, a 17-inch laptop, tablet, tripod, and assorted extras. The Roller Bag 50 is not much smaller.
Manfrotto Advanced Bags
Manfrotto also announced 13 new camera bags geared towards photo enthusiasts, the Advanced Bags Collection. The collection includes shoulder bags, holsters, slings, and three different kinds of backpacks. All of these bags have a rugged, durable bottom half, made of high density nylon fabric.
The Active Backpack I and II hold a lot of stuff but remain relatively compact. The Active Backpack I can hold a DSLR, 2 standard lenses, a 15-inch laptop, and other miscellaneous items that can be easily accessed via the many zippered compartments. The Active Backpack II holds up to 4 lenses and a 17-inch laptop. Both bags can be converted into a daypack.
Manfrotto’s 3 Tri Backpacks have a unique design that lets you use it in stnadard backpack, sling bag, or “X” positiona. The unique design allows you to access your gear even with the traditional backpack shape. In the backpack or “X” position with the straps across your chest you can easily and quickly swing the pack to your left or right side by simply releasing the quick release buckles. This means you don’t have to remove the entire pack to retrieve gear. The pack is essentially divided in half, with the bottom half for your photo gear and the top half for other items. It is slim and efficient in design. The main camera compartment comes with modular padded dividers that give you the freedom to arrange the pack to suit your gear needs. The top compartment can also be used to store less frequently needed gear. External zippered pockets allow you to retrieve accessories without having to open the main compartments. The front of the pack contains tripod straps that can accommodate the tripod.
The Tri Backpacks are available in Tri S (small), Tri M (medium) and Tri L (large sizes), accommodating increasingly large payloads.
The Gear Backpack M is a compact, functional and ergonomically designed pack that pack can accommodate a Pro DSLR system with attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It will also store other 2 lenses. Access to the pack is easy using the dual zippers to open it and expose the entire contents. Inside the front lid are organizer pockets for small items like media and business cards, cleaning cloths, phone, wallet, pens, cables and LED lights.
The Active Sling 1 is designed to carry and protect a DSLR camera with attached zoom lens plus up to 2 additional lenses and flash. It will also hold a Mini HDV camcorder and accessories. It keeps the DSLR camera in quick-draw position at all times and it can be carried either on the back or on the torso and simply switch from one position to the other by swinging the bag from back to front to grab the camera for shooting. The main compartment will hold a small to medium size DSLR camera body with attached zoom lens in top grip position. Use the padded dividers to create compartments alongside the main camera set-up for additional lenses, flash or other accessories. There is a flat large external pocket which is perfect for personal effects . It is carried by an attached, heavily padded adjustable shoulder strap.
Manfrotto’s Advanced Shoulder Bags are designed to handle anything from advanced compact interchangeable-lens cameras to pro DSLRs, depending on size. All the bags offer adjustable, detachable shoulder strap.as well as the top carry handle, easy throw zipper opens the front flap and padded dividers. When the weather turns against you, use the included rain cover to protect your gear. There are three models, the small Shoulder Bag 2, middle-sized Shoulder Bag 4, and the big Shoulder Bag 7.
Finally, Manfrotto introduced two Holster bags, which hold a camera, memory cards, and a few accessories. The larger Holster M is designed for DSLRs with a wide zoom lens attached.
