NAMM 2019: Sennheiser Announces XS Wireless Series 2.4 GHz MI & A4V Audio Transmitter and Receiver Sets

The audio experts at Sennheiser have just announced the new XS wireless MI & A4V Audio Transmitter and Receiver Sets, a plug and play entry-level series with multiple options for customized applications. The new series consists of lightweight bodypack transmitters and receivers, lavaliers, plug-ons, handheld mics, and the option of either XLR, 1/4” jack, 1/8” mini jack, or a pedalboard receiver. Value-added technical features were developed in conjunction with its customers, giving the new series an edge, and setting it apart from other systems, all at the right price.

The new easy-to-use series acts as a complete wireless cable replacement system. Along with excellent sound and construction quality, the sets exhibits clean design, a single button interface, and a clear digital status indicator housed in sturdy hematite-colored metal packaging.

The XSW-D operates in the wide 2.4 GHz spectrum for license-free worldwide use and can operate up to five systems simultaneously due to Sennheiser’s high-quality frequency and interference management technology. The device also features USB rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that provide up to five hours of runtime.

For small footprint jobs and a robust, reliable wireless transmission, the A4V series offers four new sets: the portable base, lavalier, interview, and ENG. The XSW-D portable base set comes with XSW-D 3.5mm (1/8″) transmitter, XSW-D 3.5mm (1/8″) receiver, belt clip, cold shoe mount, 3.5mm (1/8″) coiled cable and USB-A to USB-C charging cable.

The compact A4V XSW-D portable lavalier set includes a ME2-II clip-on lavalier mic, XSW-D 3.5mm (1/8″) transmitter, XSW-D 3.5mm (1/8″) receiver, belt clip, cold shoe mount, 3.5mm (1/8″) coiled cable, and USB-A to USB-C charging cable.

The portable interview set also comes with the transmitter, receiver, belt clip, cold shoe mount, and coiled and charging cables. The larger packaged Eng set adds a bonus 1/8″ and XLR female transmitter, as well as ME2-II clip-on lavalier mic, 1/8″ receiver, belt clip, shoe mount, coiled and charging cables.

Musical Instruments (MI) sets:

The MI series include six new sets: the XSW-D base, as well as a vocal unit containing a cardioid dynamic mic with clip, presentation base with belt clip, lavalier, and instrument and pedalboard sets with belt clips and extension cables. All sets come with the transmitter, receiver, and USB-A to USB-C charging cables.
